!! The 1979 film:

* HarsherInHindsight: Arsons caused by a disgruntled worker sabotaging his factory became reality since Bhopal.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: The ChromaKey effects used to superimpose the image of the city skyline against the smoke-laden sky are rather dodgy.
* StockFootageFailure: The film uses some news footage of fire trucks and other rescue operations. As a result, some of the vehicles are obviously British and not American.
* TookTheBadFilmSeriously. Really, all of the leads. From Barry Newman to Creator/HenryFonda, there's not a phoned in performance in the lot.
