* {{Adorkable}}: ''An Uncommon Romance'' was the first time in the franchise Anastasia was written to be this, with her awkward attempts to impress the Baker and the genuinely sweet romance it leads to. This portrayal has influenced many of the character's subsequent appearances, [[WesternAnimation/CinderellaIIIATwistInTime including the next sequel]].
* {{Anvilicious}}: All three of the stories in ''Dreams Come True'' have a character learn to [[BeYourself Be Herself]] (Himself in Jaq's case). Having the same moral be repeated three times is a bit grating.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: "The World is Looking Up To You".
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Baker from ''An Uncommon Romance'', due to being a sweet guy who brought out the best in Anastasia. He even gets a small cameo in [[WesternAnimation/CinderellaIIIATwistInTime the next film]].
* FanonDiscontinuity: The third film itself, while not outright removing this film from canon, and even having a few references to it, seems to act more as a sequel to the very first film than anything, making this one easier to ignore (Though you could look at the two films the other way round - ''this'' film is a sequel to ''III'', with Lady Tremaine and Drizella somehow no longer maids.)
* JustHereForGodzilla: It's widely agreed that the third segment, ''An Uncommon Romance'', is the best of the three and the only part of the movie really worth watching.
* {{Misblamed}}: It should be noted ''Dreams Come True'' was not produced with the intent of being an actual film and was in fact a FailedPilotEpisode Disney later tried to market as a proper sequel. It could be easier to appreciate it as a humble string of made-for-TV stories if someone in Disney marketing hadn't decided to paste a ''2'' on it.
* OlderThanTheyThink: Cinderella helping one of her stepsisters find love has precedence from Creator/CharlesPerrault, whose version of ''Cinderella'' ended with the title character matchmaking both of her stepsisters with two lords.[[note]]Perrault also had the stepsisters apologize to Cinderella before she leaves to marry the prince, so Cinderella forgiving them feels less abrupt in his version, than it would for someone watching both Walt Disney's ''Cinderella'' and ''Dreams Come True'' in a row.[[/note]]
* {{Sequelitis}}: This movie is considered a strong contender for being one of the worst, if not the absolute worst, of the Disney direct-to-video sequels, for the jarring drop in animation and overall [[ClicheStorm unoriginality]], and had a huge hand in crystallizing the already notorious reputation of the sequels. The [[WesternAnimation/CinderellaIIIATwistInTime third film]] [[SurprisinglyImprovedSequel on the other hand....]]
* SoOkayItsAverage: Not the movie itself, far from it, but the ''An Uncommon Romance'' segment. It's definitely the best and most interesting of the three segments, with Anastasia's character development doing a lot to expand on what was previously a very one note character. Unfortunately, with it being one third of an already short movie (the whole thing is only 73 minutes after all) and that it dedicates some of its short time to Lucifer and Pom-Pom, the story has no room to breathe, and it's forced rush through.
* SophomoreSlump: ''Cinderella II: Dreams Come True'' went so far as to become one of Disney's least-liked sequels ever. It doesn't even have much screentime in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkDceYZ5Oj4 this trailer]] for a Blu-Ray pack of Cinderella's sequels. The next film even implicitly retcons it out of existence, though a few characters from it do show up.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: This movie had an opportunity to feature the prince more prominently and give him more characterization, as well as further developing his relationship with Cinderella (seeing as in the first movie their onscreen romance is relegated to the ball and their wedding). Unfortunately the prince is barely in the film in any meaningful way; the first segment - which is all about Cinderella trying to adjust to being a princess - would've been a perfect opportunity to explore the prince more as a character and how he supports Cinderella, but he quickly gets PutOnABus.
