* {{Anvilicious}}: "Everyone has their own way of dealing with sadness." "We all need to escape our reality sometimes".
* AwesomeMusic: In true KyotoAnimation tradition. The ending theme, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRj4_i-eUPU "Inside Identity"]], is particularly awesome.
* BrokenBase: Fan opinion of Nibutani, while initially overall positive, immediately started to split after the events of Episode 4. On the one hand some fans like her true character comparing it with Ami from {{Toradora}} thinking she may become a LovableAlphaBitch. On the other hand some people now think she is just a BitchInSheepsClothing and don't like her betraying Yuuta's expectations (who actually accepts this quite fast).
** Of course, her status as "bitch" is more arguable due to the fact that she's a hypocrite than the trounced expectations. When Yuuta shares the fact that they're essentially exactly the same, she denounces him as a loser for having had chuunibyou and apparently decides to rank him somewhere around the level of "pond scum".
** Fan opinion on episode 7 is split. [[spoiler: Some feel that the drama is unnecessary, and that Rikka doesn't need a psychological reason to behave the way she does. Others like the depth and development that it brings her character, as well as the show itself.]]
** As of episode 11, Yuuta of all people became one, [[spoiler: thanks to a combination of forcing Rikka to give up her chuunibyou ways (to the point of trying to forcably rip the eyepatch off of her) and seeming completely oblivious to how miserable she is when she does give it up.]]
*** [[spoiler:Except he's not oblivious to it at all. He knows how much pain Rikka's going through and is even angsting about how guilty he feels about his actions. He just isn't willing to let himself reassure her because he feels it would be irresponsible and go back on his previous actions.]]
* EarWorm: ''Lite'''s ending
* HilariousInHindsight: Some fans have noted that the real [[JunFukuyama Dark Flame Master]] will come to life when he becomes TheHero in ''LightNovel/MaoyuuMaouYuusha'' [[spoiler: especially after wearing the BlackKnight armor.]]
* LesYay: Shinka and Dekomori.
** FoeYay
** Dekomori's response to Rikka saying she's in love with Yuuta in episode 10 can be seen as this, completely with MurderTheHypotenuse (she snapped out of it fast and helped to give her "master" confidence to confess to Yuuta).
*** And her reaction to being hugged by Rikka.
* MemeticMutation: [[http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbhol7Y4nT1qiqb5po1_500.gif Woop Woop]][[labelnote:Explanation]]Rikka's finger spinning in the OP.[[/labelnote]]
** There have been more than a fair share of full-on parodies of the entire opening and also the introductory section of episode 1.
** When I'm- [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci8t-3p3vK0&feature=related Dark Flame Master?]] (Hidden finger spinning included!)
** [[http://youtu.be/DfnbN0E-7QA Yuuta of the Rebellion]].
* {{Moe}}: Rikka, hands down.
** Kumin as well.
** Don't forget about Sanae.
** I think it's safe to say that pretty much every character in this series is moe to some degree.
* TearJerker: The end of episode 7 and the beginning of episode 8.
** After Rikka is hit with the fact that [[spoiler:her father is dead]], we can't see how she is going to react because the half of her face we are shown is obscured by her eyepatch. [[spoiler: Then a tear rolls down.]]
** Rikka [[spoiler:finally accepting her father's death.]]
--> '''Rikka''': [[spoiler:Goodbye, father.]]
* WhatAnIdiot: Just the fact that Yuuta pretended to be the Dark Flame Master in middle school. ''All the freaking time''. '''In public. In front of authority figures, no less.''' There's a fine line between pretending and play acting in front of friends for laughs and letting your pretend fantasies COMPLETELY consume you to the point of not caring about the fact that classmates and authority figures are watching it all! I'm surprised Yuuta wasn't bullied about it before he transferred schools or the fact that teachers and authority figures didn't [[AmbiguousDisorder question his mentality]] or find it to be the least bit unsettling and inappropriate or a cause of alarm! It's okay to pretend and play act in certain settings, but in public places in front of people who are likely going to call you crazy just for letting your fantasies consume your entire being is NOT one of them! Any middle schooler I encountered would never have done what Yuuta did lest they be stigmatized with constant bullying, harassment, and public humiliation for the rest of their lives, possibly to the point of suicide if the harassment is bad enough! Of all the things haters of this show didn't talk about, why did they not bring up this issue?!
** That's what a chuunibyou is, though.
