* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Christopher Lee did what the rest of us will forever only dream of doing: he landed a role in both Star Wars AND The Lord of the Rings -- SIMULTANEOUSLY. Andy Serkis was in both franchises, but not at the same time.
** It gets even better when you think about his role in both franchises a little more: The Two Towers was the central film of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and is the film in which Saruman's threat is at its greatest. Attack of the Clones is the central film of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and is the film in which Count Dooku plays the greatest role. Both films came out in 2002. The fact that Saruman and Count Dooku are very comparable characters helps (they're both cool old guys that were some of the greatest forces of good in their respective franchises who were then corrupted by a powerful, sinister figure, and were killed in the third installment of their respective trilogies).
** In his autobiography, he recounts his romance with an heiress whose father disapproved of her being with someone of such a lowly profession as an actor. During a party on their estate, he tried to embarrass Lee by bringing up his heritage, only to discover that on his mother's side, Lee was descended from an ancient Italian noble family and could trace his ancestry to Charlemagne himself. The man's other guests spent the rest of their stay teasing him about being a noveau riche.
* HarsherInHindsight: Averted. Despite being a ChronicallyKilledActor who played all manner of the undead, Lee died peacefully of old age in his nineties, after living a full, totally awesome life.
