* AssPull: It was never revealed how Bacchushund's head ended up in a glass cylinder within an underground lab complex on a distant planet after being destroyed by Ohblocker.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Action! Ohranger and Niji Iro Crystal Sky. The latter was so much so that it was used as an instrumental in this series' tribute episode of ''[[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger Gokaiger]]'' instead of an instrumental of the opening.
** Don't forget the little [=RedPuncher=]'s~!
* BadassDecay: While Baranoia was still a dangerous threat that ultimately took over Earth in the finale, the brutal intensity displayed at the beginning of the series was significantly lightened up following the show's {{Retool}} such as dropping their attempted plans at a worldwide blitzkrieg to force Earth into an instant-surrender in favor of goofy MonsterOfTheWeek-type schemes as their MO.
* BaseBreakingCharacter: Gunmazin, either a decent addition to the entire team as a Bangai Hero who also served to boost the toyline's sales during the show's run or a walking DeusExMachina that is only added with his role being irrelevant to the storyline.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Juri and Momo hold a dance aerobics class...for Ohranger-Robo (piloted by [=OhGreen=] and [=OhBlue=]) and Red Puncher (piloted by [=OhRed=]). They claim it's to make sure Ohranger-Robo's been fully repaired after having been heavily damaged several episodes prior, but it's still really weird.
* CompleteMonster: "[[Recap/ChourikiSentaiOhrangerE32TheSchoolsScaryNightmare The School's Scary Nightmare]]": [[NightmareWeaver Bara Nightmare]] is a rogue [[MonsterOfTheWeek Machine Beast]] who escaped to Earth 11 years prior to the start of the series. Developing a taste for [[WouldHurtAChild prepubescent girls]], Bara Nightmare would kidnap one or two girls from Sakurazaka Elementary each year and make it look like they died in an accident, when in actuality he stops their aging and traps them in a dream world, where he makes them act out whatever sick fantasy he wants. When his first victim Mayumi uses the nightmare to reach out to her best friend Momo Maruo, now Oh Pink, for help, Bara Nightmare traps her in the dream world and attempts to completely destroy her, both by trying to kill her and [[MindRape mentally break]] her.
* CrazyIsCool: Gunmazin. His idea of saving a dog from a collapsing building is to ''restore the building''.
* CrossingTheLineTwice: Bomber the Great strapping Buldont to a missile in his debut episode. Scary that said missile crashes into a car, trapping a girl under it while on a timed detonation. But between the two scenes is Buldont comically screaming in terror with his eyes bugging out.
* HilariousInHindsight: The Oh in Ohranger comes from UAOH, although 'oh' in Japanese can mean 'king'. Then they get a SixthRanger that ''actually has the kanji for 'oh' on his helmet'', and what do they call him? ''Kingranger''. Some of you may remember the fansub debacle from ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters'', where translating [=GoBuster-Oh=] as Go-Buster King forced them to translate the actual [=GoBuster King=] as Go-Buster Oh.
* MisBlamed: No, ''Ohranger'' didn't nearly kill off ''Super Sentai'' (that "honor" belongs to ''Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman''). While it's true that ratings were very low (with the lowest series average ratings at the time at 4.5%), the toy sales were ''phenomenal'' - it has some of the highest toy sales in the franchise, only rivaled by ''Gaoranger'' and ''Kyoryuger''[[note]]''Kyoryuger'' does beat ''Ohranger'' if one includes toy sales the former made in Korea, 8.5 billion Yen, which when combined with its Japanese toy sales, total ''22.5 billion'' yen[[/note]]. It's also worth noting that the show's ratings, while low, were actually better than that of [[Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger its successor]] for the majority of the latter's run[[note]]although to be fair, it wouldn't be until ''Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger'' that a series would start with ratings higher than its predecessor and keep those ratings throughout its run[[/note]]. Fortunately, this reputation seems to be dying down as of late.
* MoralEventHorizon:
** Bomber the Great crosses it when [[spoiler:he kills Buldont in a duel, then banishes Hysterrier along with his remains to the edge of the universe]].
** Buldont crosses this in the last episode when he [[WouldHurtAChild threatens to kill a baby to force Ohrangers’ surrender]]. Even his own [[EvenEvilHasStandards mother is disgusted]].
* PresumedFlop: The series is often remembered for [[FranchiseKiller almost killing the entire]] ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' franchise due to [[DistancedFromCurrentEvents being forced to change certain plot elements due to the 1995 Tokyo Sarin attacks]] while ''Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger'' revitalized it. In truth, it was the opposite way around: ''Ohranger'' brought in one of the best toy sales of that time, while ''Carranger'' had lower toy sales compared to the former.
* SoOkayItsAverage: The general consensus of those who at least watched the show.
* StockFootageFailure:
** King Pyramidder can combine with Ohranger Robo and Red Puncher, or just with Oh Blocker... but it will still have Red Puncher's gatlings on its shoulders.
** After Bacchshund is destroyed, the next monster reuses part of his death explosion... which is pretty noticeable since the set suddenly changes from mountains to a destroyed city.
* TearJerker: Episode 15 features a Bara monster made of scrap from discarded machines that were flawed on the assembly line. Bara Revenger wanted revenge on Emperor Bacchushund, Yuuji ends up befriending him and Revenger begins to think not all humans are bad. Sadly Bacchushund puts a controller on Revenger and Yuuji is forced to fight and mortally wound him. Revenger thanks him for freeing him before going to a junkyard to break down just before giving a stray dog he befriended one final pet. The episode closes on Revenger's fallen pieces while the dog walks around them whimpering.
* UnintentionalUncannyValley: Unlike other Sentai shows where the helmets have no mouth plate, a simple metallic square or a mouth shape in silver, Ohranger made the design choice to give the helmets human looking lips, while making the entire helmet one uniform color. The result comes off looking ''extremely'' off and creepy. And not surprisingly, the design choice has not been repeated in any Sentai show since.
* VindicatedByHistory: While the show's been known as "The one that almost killed Super Sentai", it's gotten more favorable response over the years, especially since said reputation has largely been proven to be a case of the show being MisBlamed. The fact that it also gets an official release with English subtitles by Shout Factory helps.
