It helps that he is considered the best villain Macherot had ever written.
* SeasonalRot: General consensus has noticed that the stories not done by Macherot are much weaker in quality, which eventually resulted in the series' cancellation.
* ToughActToFollow: Part of the reason behind the series' downfall is the successive authors failing to come up with a villain as compelling as Anthracite (with one in particular being a [[CaptainErsatz blatant imitation]] of [[Literature/TheJungleBook Kaa]]).
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Given this series was meant for children, it can be rather disturbing to see it features terrorist assassionation attempts on a King and several characters implied to be eaten.
