* CrossesTheLineTwice: A bus driver refusing to serve a passenger? Not funny. A bus driver being caught not only doing that but then running her over, all caught on camera by his boss, before managing to get out of trouble simply by saying "she smells of pish"? Warps around to being funny.
* HarsherInHindsight: An early sketch in which an armed hijacker orders a plane to fly to New York so that he can experience the "all-day breakfast at Benny's" became fairly awkward after the September 11 attacks.
* MemeticMutation: Quite a few, which were repeated endlessly in Scotland when the show was on TV, and are still known and occasionally repeated.
** "Gonnae no dae that!"
*** "How?"
*** "Just... ''gonnae no''."
** The hand gesture accompanying "oooooh!", used to belittle someone for using pretentious PurpleProse.
** "Holash!!"
** "Wank, wank, good guy, wank..."
** "YA COUPLE'A FANNIES!"
** *''sniff sniff''* "...I smell shite."
* OnceOriginalNowCommon: While some of the show's jokes can seem rather slight to viewers now, and its success has paled in comparison to that of its spinoff ''Still Game,'' it was ''massive'' in Scotland when it originally aired, and was a major influence on several more recent successful Scottish sketch comedy shows such as ''Limmy's Show'' and ''Burnistoun.''
* TheScrappy: Harry is seen as this. He's a major {{Jerkass}} who constantly abuses his wife Linda verbally for the littlest of things. When his friend George tries to intervene each time, Harry calmly shuts him up before raging at Linda.
* TakeThatScrappy: At the end of each of their sketches, Harry always has some form of [[LaserGuidedKarma comeuppance]] coming at him.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: The "Sluich" sock puppet sketches, a parody of the long-running Scottish Gaelic children's TV programme ''Dòtaman.'' Except that these puppets drink until they're wasted, smoke hash, look at porn and get testicular cancer.
