!!For the British Game Show
* AccidentalInnuendo:
** The infamous "Snake Charmer" moment, where it looks like Mr. Chips is "charming" a very different kind of snake.
** The "Dicing with Death" counterpart in the 2014 Celebrities and their Mothers Edition.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Both the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh1xhdeVE_c the original version]] and the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apw14n5w1no 1994-1998 remix]].
* {{Blooper}}: In addition to the infamous Catchphrases, there have been a small number of proper bloopers.
** One deleted scene from a TVS era episode has Roy Walker caught sucking on a polo mint...
--->'''Roy:''' I swallowed it and it came back up!
** Then comes the infamous moment from the first recorded episode from Season 14 when the then-new Nick Weir breaks his leg, on his FIRST EPISODE as presenter.
--->'''Nick:''' Wayhey! come on! (''trips'') I'll be alright!
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: The British version lasted waaaaaaaaay longer than the American version, following in the pattern of other British adaptations of American game shows, such as ''Series/{{Blockbusters}}'' and ''[[Series/{{Wipeout1988}} Wipeout]]''. A clip of the "Snake Charmer" incident did make the rounds on "Outrageous Game Show Moments"-type ClipShow specials in the U.S., though.
* HilariousInHindsight: The original US version was replaced early in 1986 by ''Perfect Match'', a knockoff of ''Series/TheNewlywedGame''. In 1995, original host Art James showed up as a (fictional) game show host in ''Film/{{Mallrats}}'', where he was the host of a [[FollowTheLeader blatant ripoff]] of ''Series/TheDatingGame''.
* ReplacementScrappy: Nick Weir and Mark Curry. While good hosts in their own right, they pretty much had no chance when following the legendary Roy Walker.
* ThatOnePuzzle: The majority of episodes will have at least one catchphrase that will heavily stump the contestants. One good example from Nick Weir’s run: The screen shows a boy with an apple on his head, along with an anthropomorphic clock, aiming a bow and arrow towards the apple. The contestants threw in loads of William Tell variations, trying to incorporate time or clock into the mix. Neither one got it right before the [[TimedMission Cash Countdown]] hit zero. The correct answer was then revealed to be [[spoiler:Time Will Tell]].
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The final season, with new host Curry, marked a move from the show's established weekly slot on ITV to the network's daytime lineup. Moving from weekly primetime to daily daytime meant the stakes were cheaper. ''Much'' cheaper. Cheaper to the point that Catchphrases were recycled from Roy's episodes, there was no audience, contestants played for points instead of cash, and the holiday could only be in a location in Europe.
* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: While the current apps available in the UK (the ''Classic'' app, offering gameplay like that of the show, and ''Quest'', where the players controls Mr. Chips in a more ''VideoGame/CandyCrushSaga''-type game) are pretty good, the same can't be said of the board game adaptations- which the show really wasn't meant for.
