* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The opening theme song, courtesy of Lou Bega and Kevin Manthei.
* CultClassic: Perhaps one of the more obscure shows to come out of Creator/DisneyChannel, but has a surprisingly sizable and loyal following who enjoy its quirky characters and its satirical themes.
%% * DesignatedHero: Brandy is incredibly selfish, Whiskers can be pretty stupid (although he's nowhere near as bad as Brandy morally), and ''both'' of them tend to ''cause'' just as many problems as they solve. Fortunately, they're both still good enough to notice when they're causing problems and are ''definitely'' morally better than [[BigBad Gaspar]].
%% * EnsembleDarkhorse: Ed's a ''very'' lovable character.
* EveryoneIsJesusInPurgatory: According to [[FanFic/TheOtherworldAnthology Gareth Barsby]], anyway:
-->"Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, if you read between the lines, has very sinister undertones of mortality and insanity."
** On a more believable level, [[http://sumperson.deviantart.com/journal/Brandy-and-Mr-Whiskers-is-an-adaptation-of-Alice-i-250200165 he also thinks]] the series was intended to be an adaptation of ''Literature/AliceInWonderland''.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Brandy giving up a chance to go home to save Mr. Whiskers from a malfunctioning robot in episode 30 "One of a Kind". Made even better with this dialogue:
-->'''Brandy''': You know why you're my true friend?
-->'''Mr. Whiskers''': Not a clue at this point.
-->'''Brandy''': Because you helped me see what a true friend is all about.
-->'''Mr. Whiskers''': Even though I'm not a dog who's just like you in every way?
-->'''Brandy''': Maybe because you're not a dog who's just like me in every way.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Creator/KaleyCuoco had voiced Brandy in this show. A decade later, Cuoco's female co-stars on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', Creator/MayimBialik and Creator/MelissaRauch, would later guest star in two separate episodes of [[WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil another Disney series]], as anthropomorphic animals like Brandy.
** Brandy wouldn't be [[Film/OnceUponATimeInHollywood the last female dog]] [[Recap/BlueyOnesies with that name.]]
** [[Film/TransformersFilmSeries Star]][[Creator/CharlieAdler scream]] is best friends with [[WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated Star]][[Creator/TomKenny scream.]]
* HoYay: At the end of one episode, Mr. Whiskers goes out on a date with Gaspar.
* MoralEventHorizon: Brandy comes very close to crossing this in "The Monkey's Paw", trying to wish that Mr. Whiskers was never born and all.
* PopularWithFurries: The characters of the show, in general, are liked, but the most popular ''by far'' is Brandy for her [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold sassy yet caring personality]] and especially her design with borders on MsFanservice.
* ShallowParody: "Where Everybody Knows Your Shame" includes a particularly cringe-inducingly shallow anime parody as a cutaway gag.
* StrangledByTheRedString: in the episode [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin "A Really Crushing Crush"]], Ed and Lola suddenly have a crush on each other, something which had never even been implied before.
* ViewerSpeciesConfusion: Some viewers mistake Brandy to be a Golden Retriever due to her blonde-coated fur. She's actually revealed to be a mixed-breed dog in "Pedigree Schmedigree," but was raised to be a Spaniel.
* TheWoobie: Pretty much everyone except Margo (Brandy and Gaspar are [[JerkassWoobie Jerkass Woobies]]). Ed Otter and Lola Boa are probably the greatest examples, though. Ed goes through a serious case of BreakTheCutie in The Big Game and gets severely verbally abused by Mr. Whiskers in "The Monster Of My Skin". Lola Boa, well, it isn't easy being a snake and all.
