* CriticProof: As par the course with the beach party movies, it was despised by critics, and yet made AIP a lot of money.
* FairForItsDay: Frankie disapproves of Dee Dee skydiving, and makes StayInTheKitchen jokes...which are used to set up Dee Dee shutting him down and doing what she wants. Steve is also quick to remind the boys that Bonnie is an accomplished skydiver too.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** In the opening song "Beach Blanket Bingo", there's a montage of couples hooking up. Frankie and Dee Dee look like they're about to watch another hook-up as a boy closes his eyes for a kiss...and the girl shoves an ice cream into his face instead.
** Also in the opening, Buster Keaton cameos as a fisherman. He flings the line backwards. Cut to one poor girl getting her bikini top accidentally pulled off.
** Frankie gets in a good dig on the CorruptCorporateExecutive Bullets.
---> Bullets: I didn't catch your name, boy.
---> Frankie: I didn't throw it.
** Dee Dee, queen of the sass.
---> Dee Dee: You know something, Bonehead, you remind me of the ocean.
---> Bonehead: You mean I'm so deep?
---> Dee Dee: No. You make me sick.
** Bonehead's attempts at flirting...
---> Bonehead: You girls are so eager to jump? Why don't you jump on down here? I'll guarantee you a happy landing.
---> Dee Dee: I'd rather jump out of an airplane without a parachute.
---> Frankie: Either way, you get to Heaven.
** Don Rickles getting to do his stand-up act, lampshading the movie's blatant DawsonCasting; he asks what Frankie's even doing there, "you're forty years old!"Frankie Avalon certainly wasn't that old, but he was twenty-five playing a teenager.
** Bonehead has to buy Lorelai clothes, and does her measurements by hand...which is of course an excuse to wrap his arms around her. Not that she minds; she asks him to do the first movement again (measuring the bust).
---> Bonehead: Lorelai, do you know about the birds and the bees?
---> Lorelai: No.
---> Bonehead: Well, I better get out of here, or you're gonna find out.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** The girls sleep on the upstairs floor of the beach house, which has a banner hanging just above the stairs reading "Heaven's Above" (with arrows pointing to where the girls are sleeping). You'd think this is a ShoutOut, but "Stairway to Heaven" wasn't even written until five years later.
** Similarly, Creator/PaulLynde makes a reference to The Perils of Pauline in this movie. People who know about The Perils of Penelope Pitstop might assume that this is an ActorAllusion to Lynde having voiced the Hooded Claw on The Perils of Penelope Pitstop, which was based on The Perils of Pauline... except that this movie was made four years before The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.
* NarmCharm: It is goofy, it is cheesy and no one is ever going to call it a masterpiece. But that just makes it all the more enjoyable.
* SequelDisplacement: The most remembered of the AIP beach party films, and the first one to get a page on Website/ThisVeryWiki. It was actually the fifth one released (technically fourth if you don't count Pajama Party). Frankie Avalon later said that this was the film of his most people asked him about.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: There's some very obvious rear projection whenever characters are inside a plane or on a boat.
