* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Is Tara a perfectionist [[ThePrimaDonna prima donna]], or was her early nastiness the product of nerves from her father's pressure? Her kindness towards Kristyn implies the latter.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: The rotoscoping, as well as the visuals of Swan Lake, Siegfried's palace, and the Snow Queen's palace.
* StrawmanHasAPoint: While she's portrayed as a strict, creativity-stifling teacher, Madame Natasha is paid to teach students ballet, which includes teaching them how to follow the designated choreography. Not only could Kristyn's improvisations look like mistakes to a traditional ballet critic, but changing the steps every time would be ''incredibly'' frustrating for a director, not to mention difficult for other dancers to adapt to when she isn't dancing solo. This is doubly true for anybody who wants to be a professional dancer (like Kristyn), as professional ballerinas often spend several years in the ''corps de ballet'', where dancers ''need'' to be completely in tune with everyone else on the stage. Improvisation in the ''corps'' will throw everyone else off and could get other dancers hurt.
