* AcceptableTargets: One might argue that there are ''way'' too many jokes at the expense of fat people than are warranted.
** Angus somewhat invokes this.
* ActorShipping: There are several ships, of which Jierra (Creator/JakeShort[=/=]Creator/SierraMcCormick) is probably the most popular, followed by Chake (Music/ChinaAnneMcClain[=/=]Creator/JakeShort). Bonus points that in the latter ship, one of two is in love with the other (China Anne towards Jake).
** Jaffanie (Jake/Stefanie) is another major one, mainly fueled by the actors' own actions behind-the-scenes.
* {{Anvilicious}}: The Black History Month episode has shades of this not only for black heritage but also a little bit of women's heritage. Lampshaded when [[VisualPun an actual anvil falls]].
* AwardSnub: Averted. While it only recieved one nomination at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards (Jake Short for Favorite TV Actor), he won against quite modest competition (He faced [[ModernFamily Ty Burrell]] and Tim Allen, two middle-aged actors, and Alex Heartman of the male-targeted PowerRangers -- and with the [=KCAs=] being heavily female-skewed, his odds were slim, at best). Favorite Show and Actress are maybe year or two down the road, but Favorite Sidekick should have been Creator/SierraMcCormick for Olive. Who got nominated? Jennifer Stone, Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress and Jennette [=McCurdy=] (who won for the 2nd time in a row). Really? Three sidekicks from the same show? A show that the main protaganist seems the be the true sidekick to [[SpotlightStealingSquad Jennette McCurdy]]. It was as if NICK paved the way for her win by not putting anyone who posed a threat. Adding Gibby to the mix would've made much more sense, but he could've beat Jennette. YMMV on Sierra winning it, but she definitely deserved recognition.
** It's like they gave Creator/JakeShort the win to make up for it. But it wasn't even formally presented, just announced.
* BaseBreaker: Olive became one in season 3, largely due to her [[TookALevelInJerkass taking a level in jerkass]].
* CanonSue: Chyna, depending on who you ask.
* CriticalResearchFailure: The Ancient Greece play. Zeus did not marry Aphrodite in Greek Mythology; depending on the version of the myth, she was his aunt or daughter.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: A lot of Lexi's {{Jerkass}} moments are so exaggerated that they're funny rather than mean spirited.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome:
** Chyna's rendition of "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz.
** China Anne's "Calling All The Monsters".
** Pretty much any time Chyna sings.
** Even the [[IronicNurseryTune so-called childrens songs]] from the episode "[=PerformANTs=]" when they are "The Happy Fuzzy Friends" especially the first song which is catchy, although its pretty dark.
* DesignatedHero: One episode has the cast scamming a guy into buying Fletcher's paintings at inflated prices and [[KarmaHoudini managing to get away with it.]]
** In general, Olive is starting to fall under this in season 3.
* DudeNotFunny: In the episode "[=SciANTs=] Fair", Olive and Chyna fight over the controller to a miniature zeppelin during the titular fair; cue accidental recreation of the Hindenburg disaster with Olive even quoting the famous line "Oh, the humanity!" If the laugh track is to be believed, it's all PlayedForLaughs!
** Arguably the whole episode "[=MutANT=] Farm", but this quote "You got a text message from Satan! 'See you soon'..." takes the prize. That joke came from the first episode, which this episode was [[RecycledScript based]] off of.
** The PoliceBrutality jokes in "The [=InformANT=]", which were, of course, PlayedForLaughs. The scenes even got removed and shortened.
** Lexi breaking her legs [[ItMakesSenseInContext after pretending to be crippled]] in "[=PatANT=] Pending" and everybody thinking she's faking again and just leaving her there. God, we know she's an AlphaBitch, [[KickTheDog but that]] [[DisproportionateRetribution was just harsh]]… also, Lexi was hit squarely on the ''head'', yet her ''legs'' are broken?!
** "[=ANTswers=]" tries to put the problems of arguing parents in stride (although it was treated seriously until it turns out Paisely was crying about her parrots). Lexi also makes a joke about deportation, just because Cameron's Canadian girlfriend was chosen to be in advertisements instead of her.
*** Let's not forget [[BlackComedy how the librarian was reduced to bones because it has been so long since people visited the Library]].
** [[TearJerker Lexi harshly telling Fletcher that Chyna didn't love him.]]
** While looking for her AmeliaEarhart doll in "[=AmusemANT=] Park", Olive says "Where is she? [gasp] She's missing."
** When Fletcher gets a CrowningMomentOfAwesome, Chyna's about to compliment him only to get hit in the head with a boomerang.
*** Shortly afterward, he gets invited on a Tazmanian Neville's show, thinking that he would talk about his surprisingly badass feats. Instead, Neville claims that he was the one who rescued Fletcher and belittles him in front of the audience. [[ButtMonkey Damn.]]
** The treatment of Fletcher in Season 3 is generally found to be unfunny and instead [[TheWoobie rather pitiable]].
*** Fletcher's fear of streamers stems from an incident where he tied himself up like a mummy, only for Olive to mistake him for a piñata and viciously beat him while everyone else laughs.
*** Olive trying to kill Fletcher with venomous snakes just because he mis-phrased a riddle she was trying to solve.
*** People harshly yelling at Fletcher to get him to shut up, which is apparently a RunningGag.
*** [[{{Jerkass}} Olive]] beating Fletcher viciously (''again'') and not actually taking responsibility for it. The rest of the episode even had his so-called friends (Olive even admits that Fletcher's not a friend) show a generally uncaring behavior toward him. It's a wonder why Fletcher is still happy-go-lucky.
*** The revelation Kennedy never really liked Fletcher and was using him; yes, the only person that's given Fletcher a PetTheDog in Season 3 turns out to be using him the whole time.
* EarWorm: The theme music. Also "Cameron Parks: Space Cadet" from "[=ClarivoyANT=]".
** China Anne [=McClain=] released a very catchy halloween-themed song called "Calling All The Monsters". It appeared in the ''A.N.T. Farm'' HalloweenEpisode.
*** Almost '''anything''' sung by China. It doesn't take a hard look to see why Executive Producer Dan Signer came up with the show by literally writing it around her.
*** "Calling All The Monsters" hasn't just appeared on ''A.N.T. Farm'' - it's been on ''ShakeItUp Twice'' (once as an instrumental only though) and even on the Disney Channel original movie ''Girl Vs. Monster''. It's also a playable track on ''Just Dance Disney Party''.
** "Tonight I'm a Soccer Ball".
** The songs when they are "The Happy Fuzzy Friends".
** Fletcher's "I Propose" in "[=SignificANT Other=]".
*** And Chyna's song back to Fletcher in the same episode, "[[FriendZone As A Friend]]".
* EnsembleDarkHorse: Paisley is ''hugely'' popular, especially for a supporting character. Granted, that probably has less to do with the character itself and more with [[MsFanservice who plays her]].
** One would imagine that the most popular character of all would be Chyna, whom the show is written around, or at least Lexi for being pretty - but apparently, it's actually Olive. Being so {{Adorkable}} is a big reason for her popularity. However, she's become [[BaseBreaker rather polarizing]] in the third season, as her adorkable nerd personality started mutating into a rather neurotic know-it-all and she did [[TookALevelInJerkass surprisingly mean things to others, especially Fletcher.]]
** Lexi's [[CharacterizationMarchesOn march towards characterization]] at being a LovableAlphaBitch seems to be a response to the (likely unanticipated) popularity of her character.
** Violet also has a fairly large following (especially considering she was only in six episodes).
* FanPreferredCouple: Fletcher has a crush on Chyna, but [[http://antfarm.wikia.com/wiki/Folive_Fanfiction most fanfiction you'll find will ship him with Olive instead]]. In fact, [[http://antfarm.wikia.com/wiki/Folive the article about the pairing]] is the longest article on the show's wiki.
* HilariousInHindsight: The episode "[=ScavANTger=] Hunt" features a lot of references to the ''Franchise/StarWars'' franchise and George Lucas - right around the same time Disney (owners of [[CaptainObvious The Disney Channel]]) bought the ''Star Wars'' franchise and [=LucasFilm=] Licensing lock stock and barrel. Further interesting as it's a case of this trope ''before'' the episode actually aired.
* JumpingTheShark[=/=]TheyChangedItNowItSucks: In the third season, due to the [[PutOnABus removal]] of Cameron, [[AscendedExtra ascension]] of Angus, and the {{Flanderization}} of Olive and Fletcher.
* JustHereForGodzilla: A fair amount of males are only watching for Lexi & Paisley (and, to a degree, Chyna & Olive).
* LauncherOfAThousandShips: Fletcher.
* LesYay / FoeYay: The end of "You're the One That I [=wANT=]" has [[ItMakesSenseInContext Lexi playing the male lead]] to Chyna's female lead. They sing a romantic song somewhat similar to "[[Film/{{Grease}} Summer Nights]]" that was originally supposed to end with a kiss. They don't kiss, but still...
** Also, the below mentioned IdolSinger episode has Chyna singing "You are beautiful, no matter what they say..." The fact that Lexi mistakes this as Chyna singing the song ''to her'' is played as a joke, but the scene is ''seriously played out like Chyna is singing it to Lexi!''
* MoralEventHorizon: Hashimoto and Winter Maddox crossed it after taking over the company by turning the [=ANT=]s into unpaid employees and forcing them to sleep in tubes.
* MST3KMantra: A fairly common complaint people have against the show is that Olive is the only one of the [=ANTs=] whose gift would actually help her do well academically.
* NightmareFuel: From the 1st episode, melted Chyna wax statue. in fact, Gibson said this upon seeing it:
-->''"Melted kid! A melted kid!"''
** In a recent episode, Fletcher removes Wacky the Wolf's head and ''there's no head under the costume''!!!
** Fletcher's first cartoon at the beginning of ''The [=ANTagonist=]'' is pretty shocking and grotesque. It borders on this and UncannyValley.
** The [[spoiler: dead librarian]] in "[=ANTswers=]".
* RetroactiveRecognition: Music/ChinaAnneMcClain and Creator/SierraMcCormick both appeared on the ''HannahMontana'' episode "Welcome to the Bungle", both playing confused and distraught audience members on a talk show that were fans of Hannah that mindlessly did whatever Hannah said she liked, and whose parents were concerned enough about the mixed signals Hannah gave the kids to bring them to a talk show featuring Miley so their daughter's could put her on the spot.
** Stefanie Scott's appearance in "Beethoven's Big Break" might also count since it was her first film role and she was roughly the same age (if not younger) as the [=ANTs=] are in-universe.
* TheScrappy: Gibson frequently draws complaints of being an annoying {{man child}}, which also applies to Zoltan (albeit to a lesser degree).
** Angus has been turning into one, due to his FatBastard traits and being used as an outlet for fat jokes. The fact that he's [[AscendedExtra replaced]] the far more likable [[PutOnABus Cameron]] [[ReplacementScrappy doesn't help.]] He's also a borderline CreatorsPet. No one ever calls him out for being rude, he gets away with being a jerk, and in a Season 3 episode he is related to royalty.
*** It certainly doesn't help that the first episode centered around him in the 3rd season had him acting like an entitled, egotistical jerk. Some people wished that Chyna should have just let him crash and burn.
** The group of orphans, due to being whiny, selfish, for harassing people [[ForTheEvulz for no particular reason]] and [[KarmaHoudini getting away with it scot-free]].
** Tazmanian Neville is hated for being a clueless {{Jerkass}} and for taking credit for Fletcher's CrowningMomentOfAwesome and belittling him in front of live TV.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Fletcher's talent is rarely used in the series, and if so, it's generally unimportant. The traits that the show most focuses on is his ButtMonkey status and his ditziness. In a lot of plots, he's rarely even used at all for anything other than humor.
* TheWoobie: Cameron. He's acknowledged to have absolutely no talents other than playing Donkey King (stated in the above quote). It's also revealed that he enjoys his job as the school announcer because it's the one time a day that people are willing to listen to him. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Also everyone calls him short.]]
** Oh, Fletcher, Fletcher, Fletcher. He is called dumb by everyone and it's always made fun of that his talent (art) is downright useless. The few times where his art is valued is by a guy who was implied to be high on cologne fumes and by his idol who ''takes Fletcher's gift and claims that it's his art''. His CrowningMomentOfAwesome in the Australia episode is also downplayed by Tazmanian Neville, who claims that he rescued Fletcher from the outback and belittles him in front of what is most likely a ''national audience''. If ''[=Secret AgANT=]'' is anything to go by, he has a ''ZeroPercentApprovalRating in the entire country''. Damn, he makes [[ICarly Freddie Benson]] and [[{{Victorious}} Robbie Shapiro]] look like Leprechauns.
*** That whole ZeroPercentApprovalRating thing from ''[=Secret AgANT=]'' has been revealed to be false in ''[=FinANTial Crisis=]''[[spoiler: due to TheReveal that Kennedy is actually not a debate prodigy but actually [[TheMole Hashimoto's Daughter]] and she made it all up. On the other hand, it's also revealed she didn't love Fletcher after all. ]]
** Paisley in "[=ANTswers=]".
