* AdaptationDisplacement: Though series itself is already quite niche, it is more known than the comics it was based on.
* AngelDevilShipping:
** Raf and Sulfus, quite literally. It's canon that they both have a crush on each other.
** You also have Miki and Gas.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Each character has an ImageSong; though the songs are not sung by the original voice actors, they have catchy beats and hooks and sung in English.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: In the Anglosphere (particularly in North America), the show has become a CultClassic where it is one of the few Mondo TV series to have a genuine unironic fanbase rather than people watching out of BileFascination.
** The series is also a CultClassic in the Francophonie (especially in France). To boot, the French version is readily available in its entirety online.
* HollywoodPudgy: In episode 4, Urie worries about her weight despite being drawn with the same skinny-build as her friends. Raf and Miki are understandably confused by this. However, Cabiria gladly makes fun of her.
* IAmNotShazam: The main heroine is not named "Angel", but Raf. In fact, there is nobody named Angel in the series. The title is actually an example of GratuitousEnglish.
* {{Narm}}: Mostly due to the jarring voice acting in English.
** The animation and the frequent OffModel gives also a good touch of narm to the animated series.
* TheScrappy:
** Dolce/Sweet, for various reasons, is one of the most hated characters in the fandom. Whether it be her being made specifically for the show and not existing in the comics, or having little personality outside being preppy and loving shopping, she has few fans.
** Raf also gets a bit of hate (justified or otherwise) due to her temper and her obsession with Sulfus.
* TearJerker: For the animated series, the thing that first drove [[BigBad Reina]] to her StartOfDarkness? [[LoveMakesYouEvil She fell in love]].
* UnintentionallySympathetic: Raf and Sulfus once get (separately) punished after they are seen together, only without being even told what exactly they did wrong, implying that if someone says you did something wrong, then you must accept the consequences no matter what, even if you aren't told what you did wrong exactly. It doesn't help that the rules imply that a girl being together with a boy (or vice versa) is "giving in to the devil" (which the so-called "VETO" also implies).
* ValuesDissonance: Gas having no other personality traits than being ObsessedWithFood, and being constantly mocked because he's fat, was already quite grossophobic for the TheNewTens.
