* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Make no doubts about it, Grimm is definitely evil. But his alleged [[EvenEvilHasStandards disgust with those who get away with things like abuse]] becomes more suspect as it seems like he's just using that as justification for his corruption.
* BrokenAesop: Stories like Cinderella or Rapunzel shouldn't be changed just because they have some unseemly parts to them...''unless'' they had a happy ending to begin with, like ''Literature/AChristmasCarol''.
* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: It is incredibly entertaining seeing the results of the corrupted stories and Grimm’s snark never gets old. What does get old though is the super simple gameplay, many have remarked the game is far more enjoyable to watch than actually play.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: A pear that appears in the series. Grimm gets angry at it whenever it makes an appearance. Its first appearance is when the ogre from Puss In Boots turns into said pear, confusing the cat. In the last appearance, the pear takes the place of the poisoned apple in Snow White.
* SoOkayItsAverage: The game has a lot of personality and can be pretty cathartic, but it gets ''extremely'' repetitive quickly and offers almost no challenge whatsoever. Once you have played episode 1, you have basically played them all with the only differences being the setting.
* SweetnessAversion: After seeing what the fairy tale world is like, a CrapsackWorld is an ''improvement''.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: While the game has a cartoony art style not out of place on a Cartoon Network show as well as being Fairy Tale themed it's not about turning classic stories DarkerAndEdgier [[BloodyHilarious for nothing]].
