* CompleteMonster: See [[Monster/WebSerialNovels here]].
* FandomRivalry: A mostly one-sided example that has sprung up around the 2020s with Website/SufficientVelocityDotCom in part due to the extremely hard left perspectives dominating the latter site. While most AH.com users do not particularly care about that website, it is not uncommon on the other hand to see extreme dismissal of AH.com on [=SV=] due to the mostly center-leaning politics of the site and the existence of [[ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch certain timelines seen by SV users to be promoting far-right sentiments]].
* FollowTheLeader: The premise of board member Big Tex's scenario ''The United States of [[AlternateHistoryWank Ameriwank]]'' is that a stranger from the future came to Colonial America before the UsefulNotes/TheAmericanRevolution intending to SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong [[GivingRadioToTheRomans by giving]] George Washington AppliedPhlebotinum to help America unite the world in the end. A lot of posters ended up creating stories on a similar premise where a stranger from the future does a similar thing except with different nations instead of America. This phenomenon is known as the "[[TheVerse Strangerverse]]" and has received several {{spinoff}}s (with the Brits, French, etc.), [[SharedUniverse all connected by the same basic premise]].

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** When [[{{Tearjerker}} long time Timeline writer and site member SergeantHeretic passed away in March 2015]], the entire community out poured with condolences to her (enough that [[http://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=347315 an entire thread was made for other site users to pay their respects]]) and other users offering to continue her timelines that were in progress at the time so her work could live on.
*** The Turtledove Awards for best ASB timeline of the year has been split in two: the Turtledove awards, for [=TLs=] derived from existing fiction, and the [=SergeantHeretic=] Awards for other ASB timelines.
** Likewise, when Kaiser K was reported dead by her sister on February 2016, ''two'' threads ([[http://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/rip-kaiser-k.383333/ here]] and [[http://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/beloved-kaiser-k.383297/ here]]) were created, containing the condoleances of fellow members.
* HilariousInHindsight: The ultimate goal of the Sealion World Tour is to present the stuffed animal to the son of one of the notable forumers, who is affectionately known as "The Overlord". As noted on their wiki, the deep irony of this action was not realized until the wheels were firmly in motion.
* MemeticBadass: [[https://www.alternatehistory.com/wiki/doku.php?id=offtopic:super55 Super55]], [[UsefulNotes/TheodoreRoosevelt Teddy Roosevelt]], Vladimir Putin.
* MemeticMutation: Blaming Thande, 2011 being called Year of the [[AlienSpaceBats Alien Space Bat]], Operation Unmentionable Sea Mammal (for Operation Sea Lion, Nazi Germany's amphibious invasion of Britain that never was) and so on.

** When the forum software was upgraded to [=XenForo=], which allows putting in tags to threads, in every thread, an unknown spammer began to put in "We must build a canal" (a reference to a RunningGag in ''Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire'' [[SelfInsertFic SI Fanfics]] where becoming a House Stark leader will inevitably lead to attempt to build a canal across the Neck).
** References to cheesegraters are often made after particularly brutal or violent scenes, after the joke was first made in Fanfic/RobbReturns.
* MemeticPsychopath: UsefulNotes/WoodrowWilson. He's been blamed for literally every ill of the 20th and 21st centuries and occasionally some from the 19th.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The redesign the website got in January 2020 was not well-received to say the least. The update removed several features, most notably the number of "likes" no longer being visible on any posts that weren't your own; this change not only didn't show community consensus but also prevented someone from seeing how much support a criticism/critique of their writing had from users. The second-largest complaint was that the update made the website look like a generic eyesore. However, the redesign was soon modified to restore "likes" to every forum except Political Chat, and several layout styles were introduced for users to choose from, allowing you to closely replicate the old appearance of the website.
