!!The toys:

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: In Latin America and Spain. Back in the franchise's peak, it wouldn't be inaccurate at all to say Action Man was the male equivalent to Franchise/{{Barbie}} in popularity and prestige over there.
* FashionVictimVillain:
** Some action figures of Dr. X give him mohawks and sleeveless leather jackets. While this wouldn't look that bad on a motorcycle gang member, it looks incredibly silly and unfitting for a mad scientist.
** The same happens to Gangrene, as one of his figures has him wearing the remnants of a labcoat over a punk belly net. This was also how he looked in the [[WesternAnimation/ActionMan2000 2000-2001 series]].
* NarmCharm: The designs of some Dr. X and Gangrene figures might fall into this for some fans.

!!The video games:

* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: While there are a few games based on the toyline (and one based on the first CGI movie), they... aren't very good, for the most part.
* SugarWiki/NoProblemWithLicensedGames: The Game Boy Color game ''Action Man: Search For Base X'' is a fairly decent exception, featuring mild {{Metroidvania}} elements with Franchise/MegaMan-style level selection, but multiple paths in each level, that give new equipment to access other paths.
