Multiverses Wiki is a wiki based around the creation of a fictional multiverse by its contributors. Universes, planets, species, technology and more are added- it has 1775 articles as of the 15th August 2012, and was founded on the 27th May 2011. A major part of the wiki is fiction, and there are dozens of stories on the site based upon the creations within.

* AlienInvasion: Species are constantly invading each other, and so on.
* AlienNonInterferenceClause:
** The Iridi learnt their lesson after uplifting the Skarg. They don't do that any more.
** The Aians, Irihil and Coatzl also avoid contacting less advanced species.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Averted. Each species has their own languages, though Centro standard is a second language to almost everyone in the Viperius Galaxy. Translators are widespread, but need to be exposed to new languages for a while before figuring them out.\\
\\
There's a nice demonstration of the process of translation in "A Chance Encounter". The two races seem to have received signals from each other first, which probably explains how rapid it was.
* AliensStealCattle: No examples of the abduction, but the Solstelek Second Contact (the first being near-eradicated by a bunch of cyborg reptilian aliens) started with shooting cattle.
* AllMythsAreTrue: Many mythological creatures appear, though usually quite altered. Often, they are Daemon castes or creations.
* AllPlanetsAreEarthlike: Averted, with many different kinds of planet and a whole classification system for them. However, Earth-like planets are the only ones on which life arises.
* AlternateCalendar: Time in Multiverses is taken from the Merge, an event in which two universes were merged to produce the diversely and richly inhabited Emenata universe. The current year is 4.000(.005) AM, or four million and five years after the Merge.
* AlternateUniverse: Obeidon, the multiverse in which everything is set, contains thousands of universes. Only a few are focussed on, but travel between them is possible due to an immense void called the Crossverse which links to almost all other universes via dimensional rifts.
%%* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Daemons.
* AncientAstronauts: A number of advanced civilisations, now long since gone, have existed in Obeidon. The most famous are the Veiled Ones, who seeded a large number of worlds and had an empire spanning many universes, and their activities enabled, for example, the Salsenes to develop FTL travel.
* AndIMustScream: Subverted with the Wall of Screams in Pandaemonium, where all that the head of the victim (surgically implanted into the living wall) can do is scream.
** Played straight with the latter stages of insoritor infection, though.
* ArcWords:
** Hail Tiamat.
** And "R'LYEH", though it has not yet appeared in the stories.
* ArtificialGravity: Because of the mass-adjustment technology.
* ArtificialIntelligence: Not rare, but very limited in what it is allowed to do. The Kree had their AIs rebel against them and force their creators to serve them as octopus-like blobs.
** The War Machine, Statronus, and Xatdun are other AI races.
** The Elith are semi-sapient.
* TheAsteroidThicket: Averted, though rings are a more common scene of space battles, and are far denser.
%%* AwesomeMcCoolname: The Gehennians get these.
* BadassBoast: Bloodburn gets a few in.
--->Angeli Leader: "Withdraw. Leave this area now."
--->Bloodburn: "Once you're all smoking shreds, I was planning to. No sense in staying around longer than necessary!"
* BiggerOnTheInside: The Veiled Ones inserted 'spatial pockets' into buildings and ships, allowing them to be larger on the inside.
* BioAugmentation:
** The Daemons particularly have augmented bodies.
** The Aians augment all members of their species. Soldiers receive a set pack of upgrades.
* BizarreAlienBiology: There are some pretty weird aliens on Multiverses, but as the objective is to keep them within the bounds of plausibility few exhibit any exceptional abilities. Infrared and ultraviolet vision are often seen, however.
* BodyBackupDrive: Some Aians have one of these. However, if this is destroyed too, they're gone.
%%* BodyHorror:
%%** The Meek life cycle.
%%** Also perhaps the Flesh Thieves.
* BrainUploading: The Rokath did this, before they and all other material life in the multiverse was destroyed (this was shortly after the birth of the multiverse).
* CasualInterstellarTravel: Mass-adjustment technology, used to reach FTL, is reasonably easy to develop amongst the races here. And the Veiled Ones could cross universes in moments.
* Cyborg: The Cyborgs, Cyberteeth, etc.
* CurbstompBattle: Dominus vs Bloodlust. Bloodlust, a giant 62 foot tall cybertooth is killed with a single blow.
* DeathFromAbove: The most common way of destroying a civilisation.
* DeathRay: While lasers, masers, and particle beams are not hard to find, they haven't supplanted kinetic weapons amongst most species. It doesn't stop them from being used in ship-to-ship battles, though missiles seem to often win the day.
* DeathWorld: There are a fair few.
** In the Vesania universe, there's a planet called Anxietas where the atmosphere contains a hallucinogenic fear gas. After a few days, visitors inevitably go insane and are eventually eaten by a native predator. The "normal" universe, Emenata, has one called Thanatos, where literally every animal is a carnivore. Vesania is an entire universe which arguably counts, except for a few small regions, given that it is filled to the brim with Eldritch Abominations and screwy physics. Badas is a planet filled with plant-descended creatures, where deadly venom, poisonous toxins and large predators are commonplace.
* DysonSphere: The Rokath built these around galaxies.
** The War Machine has them as well.
* EldritchAbomination: Boltzmanns. All the Boltzmanns.
** The Nightforms would also qualify for this.
** Nithlings
** Most of the things native to Vesania count.
* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: Dinoterra, and there are a few alien space dinosaurs.
* EvilOverlord: Hectocapitus.
** Maeve is basically space Big Brother with enough ships at his disposal to strip clean galaxies in weeks
** Bloodlust might count.
*** So is Dominus, Bloodlust's killer.
** Dread Emperor Akrael of the Aoarus, the Overmind of the War Machine...
* ExtremeOmnivore: The Sriven. They can and will eat literally anything, up to and including space-time.
* FantasticRankSystem: CDF and Aian ranks.
* FasterThanLightTravel: Common.
* FlyingSaucer: Rare. The War Machine is the only one this troper can think of with saucer-shaped starships.
* ForeverWar: Aoarus vs. Coatzl, War Machine vs. Slavnye, Daemons vs. Angeli... The Daemon-Notrox war went on for more than two million years.
** The Arawn and the Lanrao would have fought until the entire multiverse was destroyed if The Order hadn't managed to fight through the Arawn defenses and destroy their libraries.
* FutureFoodIsArtificial:
** Amongst most races, especially while in space.
** Averted in "A Chance Encounter", where the Zyrothans are treated to an Urahob banquet.
* FutureSlang: Krag! Reck! We really grekked that up...
* GhostShip: The Irihil ship that crashes in The Total of Nightmares, and the Irihil frigate in Skrapping.
%%* HiveMind: Elith, Kree, Xenopterans, Dsarune.
* HonorAmongThieves: Averted on Skrap. Everyone looks out only for themself.
* HumanoidAliens: Quite a few, such as the Angeli and Salsenes.
* KineticWeaponsAreJustBetter: Well, in terms of efficiency, they are. The Aians, a race capable of building Ringworlds and other megastructures, still equip their soldiers with portable railguns. Very powerful portable railguns, mind.
** Many races, such as the Urahob, have no energy weapons altogether. Antimatter, on the other hand...
* KarmicDeath: One race in the Undrishuar universe invaded a galaxy successfully. They got cocky and attempted to invade another galaxy. They were strong enough to do a little bit of damage to the Hegan. The Hegan retaliated by annihilating their empire.
* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: Given the number of stories and the scale of the whole thing, it's unavoidable...
%%* LoadsAndLoadsOfRaces: Yep.
%%* MechanicalLifeform: Many.
* MohsScaleOfScienceFictionHardness: 4, with hyperspace technology being the most notable break from realistic-ish science fiction.
* Nanomachines: Quite common, but rarely weaponised due to their limitations (like being really slow).
* NukeEm: Many races, most notably the Cyberteeth and their AwesomeButImpractical nuke known as the Apocalypse.
* OneBigLie: Hyper/ultra/uberspace technology. Though some of the XII stuff is pretty wacky.
* OrganicShip: Rare. Many Vesanian beings are biomechanical, though, and then there are the Ravagers...
** The Levithan are biomechanical spaceships that are built by The Arawn
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: There are a few different species with a dragon-like body plan.
** The Gehennians are the highest caste of Daemons. They are around 40m long, with plasma beams in their mouths, extremely tough armour, a bad attitude, and often other abilities- for example, Deadflame can regenerate even if stripped down to his bones.
** The Sii were bipedal, biomechanical dragons.
* OurTimeTravelIsDifferent: Inasmuch as whenever a race tries to do it, the craft blows up.
* PlanetOfHats: Usually subverted. There's about as much variation within most races as there is between humans. However, when a species does fall under this trope, there tends to be a good reason (like the Slavnye government forcing conformity).
* PocketDimension: The various microverses. The microverse inside each Boltzmann would probably count, too.
%%* PortalNetwork: Dimensional Rifts.
%%* Precursors: Veiled Ones, Sii...
* RagnarokProofing: The Sii ruins on Centro have lasted a few million years.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: The pirate and bounty hunter teams in Skrapping.
* RockBeatsLaser: Advanced kinetic weapons outperform lasers, at least on the ground.
* RuleOfCool: One of the three tenets of the site, the other two being originality and plausibility.
%%* SapientShip: Ravagers.
* ScienceMarchesOn: Deliberately averted. Much effort is spent keeping things as realistic as possible, though there is the OneBigLie that is mass adjustment.
* SciFiWritersHaveNoSenseOfScale: Averted. For example, space battles usually occur at ranges of millions of miles.
* SpaceFighter: Not used by any of the advanced races. The Urahob used them until they actually had a battle in space, and then discovered how ineffective they were.
* SpaceIsAnOcean: Averted. The authors go to a lot of trouble to try and emphasise the difference between combat at sea and in space.
* SpaceIsNoisy: Similiarly averted in the stories.
* SpacePirates: Present, though they keep a low profile.
* SpaceStation: Common, but rarely used in battle. Most people live on ships or planets.
* SpaceWhale: Some Vesanian beings might fit this trope. They are biomechanical, however.
* StandardSciFiFleet: Most races have several ship types, including the more common ones. Not fighters, though.
* StarfishLanguage: Might be said for Irkapuths, who use positions between tassles on their lower jaw to create words. This might be interpreted as a biological morse code, though.
* StarfishAliens: Notably the Kree, Iuto, and many more.
%%* StarfishRobots: The Cephalids.
* StealthInSpace: Averted. Any ship not in FTL can be detected from a very long way away.
* SufficientlyAdvancedAliens: The Veiled Ones, Sii, Telleni, Iephi...
* SwirlyEnergyThingy: Dimensional Rifts might look like this.
%%* Technobabble: Can be found, in some places.
* Terraform: Only the really advanced races could do this on practical timescales.
* TranslatorMicrobes: In some species. Most use handheld devices.
* ThatManIsDead:
---> frowned. " is dead."
* TheOrder is... well The Order.
%%* ThatsNoMoon: Verplaatsen ships.
%%* UnroboticReveal: Cephalids.
* UnusualEuphemism: The expletives used by characters in Obeidon.
%%* TheVirus: The Scourge.
%%* WarriorMonk: The Monk.
%%** The Benthos Monks probably count, too.
* WeWillWearArmourInTheFuture: Soldiers do. But not pirates, bounty hunters, and so on.
** The Hox standard clothing is light armor, or at least a full helmet. Soldiers are rarely used but when they are wear powered full body suits.
%%* WingedHumanoid: Angeli.
%%* WorldOfBadass: Skrap?
* YouWillBeAssimilated:
** Done in a far messier form by the Flesh Thieves.
** Partially averted in the Solstelek. While they still do assimilate stuff, they raise livestock, hunt wild animals or use willing volunteers if they want an assimilatee.
%%** Insoritors.
