----
!!Contains examples of:
* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: All the characters' names have the same first letter as their species.
** Averted with Les Galagoogoo.
* AnimalStereotypes: Inverted with the very forgetful Ella Elephanilla.
* AlternateUniverse: Freak Cannonada accidents have launched Franklin into at least two: one where he [[FaceHeelTurn went evil]] and took over the island and [[BigBad Professor Pester]] is now "Coronel Cuddles" among other things, and one where piņatas are [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever simply giants]].
* AttentionWhore : Hudson.
* BaldOfEvil: Professor Pester. Flashbacks show him with brown hair (growing from the top of his mask).
* BigEater : Fergie.
* BigRedButton: It fires the Cannonada.
* BilingualBonus: In the sumo wrestler episode, the youngest sumo wrestler called Fergy [[JapaneseHonorifics "Fergy-san"]] for the whole episode.
** Now remember who produced the show.
* BodyHorror: In one of the early episodes, Fergy Fudgehog at Pinata Central, accidentally runs into an random acquaintance (a Macaraccoon) just returning from a party, his body is all smashed up is missing an eye revealing a large empty socket, and his mouth is unattached to his body. Yet the dismembered Macaraccoon doesn't mind at all and casually says through his disembodied mouth "Hey Fergy, how are you doing? Going to a party?". This is the reason Fergy doesn't like parties.
* TheCameo / MythologyGag: Professor Pester's lair (and Boris's boarding home in "My Sweet Sours") houses portraits of Creator/{{Rare}} villains, namely [[VideoGame/GrabbedByTheGhoulies Baron Von Ghoul]], [[VideoGame/BanjoKazooie Gruntilda]], and [[VideoGame/ConkersBadFurDay the Panther King]].
** In the opening credits when the screen pans across a field, there is a FreezeFrameBonus of Leafos from the games.
* CardCarryingVillain: Professor Pester / The Ruffians
* CannotTellALie: Franklin
* ConMan: The "Great Bonboon."
* DisguisedInDrag: Paulie, Franklin and Fergy in the episode "Beauty And The Beasts."
* DrunkWithPower: Fergy as Piņata Wrangler in "To Catch a Piņata," so much so he tried to fire his best friend off to a party just to cement his position.
-->'''Paulie:''' Fergy, what's gotten into you?!
-->'''Fergy:''' Ambition, lamb chop! I've tasted power, and I like what I'm mashing!
* EasyAmnesia: Averted with Ella Elaphanilla, who's amnesia is ''not'' a plot device but a full-time trait, as well as the fact she has anterograde amnesia in ''addition'' to retrograde amnesia.
** Played straight on Pester in "Pester the Piņata," which causes him to think he's a baby piņata. At the end he actually rapid-fires between this personality and his normal self due to a series of slaps. [[spoiler:And at the end he ends up thinking he's a Ruffian.]]
* EnemyMine: It's a rare occasion when Pester and/or the Ruffians team up with the piņatas for something, but it happens.
* ExactWords: Franklin in "Mad Mongo" : "You won't be able to tell us apart!" Then Mongo drives him to insanity and both go berserk at the party, with Paulie even saying, [[BrickJoke "Yep, just like he said: we can't tell the two of them apart!"]]
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Professor Pester's plans to obtain the piņatas' candy. Also all Langston's attempts to get Fergy and Paulie to go to a party.
* FiveManBand:
** TheHero: Hudson
** TheLancer: Paulie
** TheBigGuy: Franklin
** TheSmartGuy: Les (even though he's also TheUnintelligible)
** TheChick: Fergy (NonActionGuy), Ella (standard)
** ThoseTwoGuys: Tina and Teddington
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar:
** This:
-->'''Boris:''' "Boys, meet your new neighbor, Associate Associate [[RuleOfThree Associate]] Professor Poofter!"
-->'''Professor Pester:''' "That's ''Pester''!"
** While understandable due to being piņatas and all, some really express an S&M-esque joy at being beaten. Perhaps best demonstrated at the beginning of "Pester the Piņata" where Hudson shows them the newest stick and Franklin immediately asks who'd want to go to town on him with it.
** Numerous moments in the episode "Crimes of Passion Fruit". The scene in which Fergy looses it resulting in him destroying the fruit bowl of the Big Boss in certain frames is cut to look like something reminiscent of a slasher film. He then panics, ingesting the "remains" but not before conversing with himself in a manner made to look like he's lost his mind and is talking to another side of a split personality. The entirety of the episode is then Fergy attempting to hide what he had done, not realizing that there was a speaker in the fruit he ate to channel the voice of "The Big Boss", convinced he's possessed by the vengeful spirit of the man who he'd done in. He runs to the Bonboon, who suggests an ''exorcism'' of all things! One has to admit--for a [[Creator/FourKidsEntertainment 4Kids]]-produced cartoon, this was pretty dark...
** And then of course: "What's with all the heavy breathing? Are you some kind of sicko?"
** In the episode that introduced the Big Boss: "I want you to look me in the grapes."
** Paulie once acted as a distraction by dressing up as a balloon stripper. (Seriously!? How did they get away with that?)
* GravityIsAHarshMistress: Played straight most of the time whenever a character falls off an edge. But subverted on one occasion when Ella walks off, pauses as if to realize there's no ground beneath her, and [[SubvertedTrope walks right back onto the edge when she questions if she left the oven on]].
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: The title characters in "Twingersnapped!" Having AHeadAtEachEnd helped, as well.
* HeWhoMustNotBeSeen: The Big Boss. No one knows who or where he is, [[TheVoice and he communicates through a speaker in a fruit bowl]].
* [[{{SheIsThe King}} HeistheQueen]]: Franklin is so friendly to a swarm of Buzzlegums, he is crowned their "queen". These being the counterpart to bees in the real world, this makes some sort of sense.
* ImAHumanitarian: Just like in the games, the Piņatas have no qualms eating candy regardless of whether or not it's currently being bled (or in one case, sneezed) out of someone else.
** The subject is explored in the appropriately-titled episode "Candibalism" where Fergy receives his order chocolate bunnycomb and poses it as his "cousin [[IncrediblyLamePun Candice]]" so he can selfishly keep others from eating the treat. When he finally gives in and devours the chocolate bunnycomb, everyone assumes that Fergy just committed an act of cannibalism, complete with him being muzzled and wheeled on a straitjacketed handcar a la [[Literature/TheSilenceOfTheLambs Hannibal Lecter]].
** Franklin feeds Sour Mongo fried Cluckles drumsticks.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Hudson is a self-centred egotist, but otherwise a good friend.
* TheLastStraw: In "Candiosity," an overstuffed Fergy on the scanner eats one last piece of candy, causing his top to burst off and completely empty him, saving him from being launched to a party at the last second.
* LighterAndSofter: In the original game Professor Pester permanently MindRaped Stardos into the deranged psychopath Destardos with his family never finding out the truth assuming he had died. In the show Pester is a majorly laughable villain who's patheticness rivals [[WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb Doofensmirtz]].
* LowSpeedChase: One episode features a chase on really slow moving forklifts.
* MetaphysicalFuel: In "The Wrong Stuff," Pester's spaceship is fueled by magnetism. When that runs out, the piņatas manage to refuel the ship using Hudson's [[IncrediblyLamePun magnetic personality]]. [[spoiler:When they need anti-charm in the reversed universe, they use Pester's personality instead.]]
* MultipleHeadCase: Ted and Tina Twingersnap.
* NeverSayDie: Surprisingly averted, given this is a [=4Kids=] production. The episode "I, Pretztail" gets away with the use of the words suicide, death trap and two uses of killed in the space of a minute.
* OnlySaneMan: Les.
** Paulie as well. He is usually the first to get a bad feeling about a strange situation that is usually something like a Pester-brand trap, and he doesn't trust [[ConMan "The Great Bonboon"]] one bit.
* PsychoSerum:
** In "Shirley Shells Out," Professor Pester created a potion that temporarily makes a piņata turn Sour.
** Mongo Macaracoon is usually tame and civilized, but pissing him off turns him Sour.
* RoadSignReversal: One of the slowest examples ever. It takes fifty years to reach the payoff.
* ShoutOut: [[Film/TheTreasureOfTheSierraMadre "Badgsicles? We don't need no stinkin' Badgsicles!"]]
* SpaceX: Lampshaded in "The Wrong Stuff," when Pester explains to Hudson how space things are better than normal things.
* SpeciesSurname
* StalkerWithACrush: Beverly Badgesicle to Hudson.
* StockFootage: Downplayed, since footage is sometimes recycled from one episode to another, but it's done rarely enough that it's mostly not noticeable.
* SuddenVideoGameMoment: In "To Catch a Piņata" of ''{{VideoGame/Frogger}}'' with Paulie, Fergy, and Langston. [[ButtMonkey Predictably, Langston, despite being a frog, is the only one to fall into the river.]]
* SuperCellReception: After failed attempts to communicate with the very tiny Raisants, Hudson simply picks up his cell phone and is able to call the exact Raisant he needed to talk with.
* TheUnintelligible: Les. It even extends to his ''non-verbal'' communication, resulting in him [[DudeWheresMyRespect never getting any credit for anything]], even if he just saved the island for the umpteenth time ''and everyone saw''.
* WholeEpisodeFlashback: "My Sweet Sours," showing the StartOfDarkness for Pester, the Ruffians, and the Sours.
* WholesomeCrossdresser:
** Paulie crossdresses for a one man performance of ''Theatre/RomeoAndJuliet''.
** And then of course, you have Langston sporting a lovely Marie Antoinette style wig in the episode "Her Royal Forgetfulness".
