''The Super Globetrotters'' is a 1979 spinoff of ''WesternAnimation/TheHarlemGlobetrotters'', produced by Creator/HannaBarbera for Creator/{{NBC}}. It ran for 13 episodes. It's five semi-real-life basketball entertainers who gain super powers. ''Ludicrous'' super powers. Nate Branch turns into water, Curly Neal retracts his limbs into his body and becomes a basketball, Twiggy Sanders can use his body as a rope, Sweet Lou Dunbar [[HairyHammerspace stores gadgets in his immense afro]], and Geese Ausbie [[MesACrowd can duplicate himself]]. They fight villains, mostly by challenging them to basketball games.

Some of the powers and costumes were taken directly from Hanna-Barbera's ''WesternAnimation/TheImpossibles''.

The whole show is parodied in a ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'' movie.
!!Tropes used by the series:

* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: F is for Fluid Man, and M is for Multi Man.
* CelebrityToons
* EgomaniacHunter: Bwana Bob
* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: The Fearless Fossils team of Museum Man is pretty good at basketball. By the end of the first half, the score is "99-0" with the Globies being the goose egg.

** Movie Man actually has TWO! His earlier in the episode henchmen are movie staff themed, then his basketball team is a movie monster themed one.
* ShoutOut: Surprisingly a lot to other HB shows, with some of design re-use and others on purpose.
** In one episode, Gizmo Man pulls a white rabbit out of his afro. The rabbit says "Brak" like the [[WesternAnimation/LaffALympics Magic Rabbit]].
** Whale Man's pirates use the same designs as from the original Franchise/ScoobyDoo ghost pirates.
** Museum Man's episode takes place in Big City, which is [[WesternAnimation/DynomuttDogWonder Dynomutt's hometown]]. When they got to meet the chief of police, he's drawn the same as the one on ''Dynomutt''.
** The classic Globetrotters bus from the first series returns in some episodes.
** There's a villain calling himself The Time Lord around the same time HB was interested in doing a animated Series/DoctorWho.
* TransformationSequence
* WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway: One of the Villains of the Week was "Bull Moose", who evidently had all the powers of UsefulNotes/TheodoreRoosevelt. Except for the whole MemeticBadass thing.
** His henchmen are farm-animal themed, and by that it varies. The pig guy is a humanoid pig, while the horse girl just has a super powered "pony"-tail. Joining them is a guy in a rooster mascot outfit, a woman with steel wool for hair, and a mountain guy with goat horns.
