"The Stupor Salesman" is a 1948 ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' short directed by Creator/ArtDavis. The thuggish crook Slug [=McSlug=], having just pulled a robbery, conceals himself in a secluded cabin to wait out the heat. However, he didn't count on WesternAnimation/DaffyDuck as a traveling salesman who won't take "no" for an answer coming to call.... HilarityEnsues.

!!"The Stupor Salesman" provides examples of:

* AlliterativeName: The bandit is called '''S'''lug [=Mc=]'''S'''lug.
* AlliterativeTitle: "The '''S'''tupor '''S'''alesman".
* ArtisticLicenseFirearms: Slug's machine gun effortlessly changes between drum-fed (like a Tommy Gun) and belt-fed.
* AshFace: Daffy and the crook at the end. One of the things that Daffy tries to sell the guy ignites the stove's gas and blows up the house, leaving them both battered and covered in ash.
* ATeamFiring: Slug [=McSlug=] fires at Daffy with an automatic weapon ''twice'' without hitting him.
* BagOfHolding: Daffy carries quite a wide arrange of products in his tiny bag.
* {{Bowdlerization}}:
** The FOX ''Merrie Melodies Show'' version of this cartoon cut the part where Slug [=McSlug=] points his gun at Daffy's stomach and Daffy uses a polish that makes the gun fall limp.
** The WB! version left in the gun threat part FOX cut, but cut the part where Daffy turns on the gas stove and tries to flick the lighter (due to it being classed as dangerous, imitable behaviour).
* ByTheLightsOfTheirEyes: Daffy thinks he sees Slug's eyes in a dark room. He turns on the lights, and it's actually his reflection in a mirror.
* CantYouReadTheSign: After Slug [=McSlug=] arrives to his hideout, he places multiple signs on the front lawn, including "NO SALESMEN" and "DON'T INSIST". Daffy never notices them.
* CasualDangerDialogue: Daffy doesn't stops doing sales pitches and casual conversation even while Slug violently tries to get him to leave and even tries to kill him.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: It never dawns on Daffy that his potential client is an escaped convict, even when he tries to shoot him. When the house ''blows up sky high'' at the end, Daffy only cares that he now has a sales angle: offering the bandit a new house.
* TheDeterminator: Daffy. The crook can slam the door in his face, threaten him with all manner off violence, and so on and so forth, but he is not leaving until he makes a sale.
* ElectricJoybuzzer: One of the products Daffy uses on the crook.
* HardToLightFire: Daffy tries to show off a lighter that supposedly lights with one flick, but no matter how hard he tries it won't light up. Eventually Slug tries it, but forgets that the gas was on and...
* ImmuneToBullets: Bullets bounce of Daffy's chest, because he happens to wear a bullet proof vest.
-->'''Daffy''': Guaranteed to get your money back if it fails to work.
* ImpactSilhouette: Daffy is thrown through the door, leaving a duck-shaped hole through it. Later on it happens two more times, leaving two more holes.
* ItWorksBetterWithBullets: After Slug runs out of ammo for his machine gun trying to shoot Daffy, Daffy (constantly looking to sell him something) hands him a fresh belt. It prevents being a TooDumbToLive move because Daffy uses the renewed shooting to demonstrate a BulletproofVest.
* MinimalistCast: The entire cartoon is a showdown between Slug and Daffy.
* NeckLift: the crook does it to Daffy so that he can sock him more easily.
* PatheticDroopingWeapon: The crook Slug [=McSlug=] points his gun at the stomach of Daffy Duck due to the latter being an annoying salesman to him, but Daffy takes out shoe shiner polish to apply it to the gun, causing the gun go limp like a shoe in response.
* PoliceAreUseless: The cops are shown dozing off while Slug commits his crimes. Even worse is the fact that they actually give Daffy a ride to Slug's hiding place, without knowing it.
* StuffBlowingUp: After a gas explosion the entire house goes up in the air. Daffy is delighted:
-->'''Daffy:''' ''[to the audience]'' I got him now! ''I got him now!'' ''[yelling up at the sky]'' HEY, BUB! YOU NEED A HOUSE TO GO WITH THIS DOORKNOB!
* TemptingFate: After giving Slug some brass knuckles, Daffy says "Boy, I'd hate to be socked with those babies!" Which is exactly what Slug was planning to do with them.
* TheThingThatWouldNotLeave: Exaggerated for laughs: Daffy absolutely refuses to leave until he's made a sale, even enduring Slug pummeling and shooting at him repeatedly.
* ToothyBird: Daffy is shown with very visible teeth.
* TravelingSalesman: Daffy's role.
