!!This work contains the following tropes:
* TwoDVisualsThreeDEffects: All of the characters in the show are drawn and animated in a traditional 2D art style, while all of the backgrounds and any objects that aren't the focus of the plot are in CG, making the art look ''very'' off at times. Not a lot of cartoons use this style.
%% * ArtShift
%% * DeadpanSnarker: White Socks, Sanda, possibly Tricks at times
%% * TheFool: Peter.
%% * HongKongDub
%% * HypercompetentSidekick: Strummer
%% * JerkWithAHeartOfGold: White Socks
%% * KidHero: Scruff
%% * LastOfHisKind: Scruff
* LimitedAnimation: Being a D'Ocon Films production, it has their usual low production value tactics, such as recycled animation frames and all that, to the point its like the Creator/HannaBarbera days all over again (contributing to the aforementioned HongKongDub). Though to be fair it's not as bad as fellow D'Ocon series ''WesternAnimation/TheFruitties'', where such problems were far more obvious.
%% * MonsterClown: One Man Circus
%% * NoAccountingForTaste: Holly and Peter, Sanda and Truffles
%% * NobleDemon: Truffles
* OneWordTitle: ''Scruff'' is one word.
* PrecisionFStrike: Despite the show being for pre-schoolers, one episode in the English dub has Peter calling Scruff a "Damn Dog", although it could be speculated that it could be misheard as such and that Peter could have actually said "Daft dog".
* ProtagonistTitle: ''Scruff'' is the name of both the show and its main character.
%% * TeamMom: Sanda
%% * {{Tsundere}}: Princess
