'''''Rugrats Go Wild!''''' is the third and final ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}'' movie, as well as the second and also final ''WesternAnimation/TheWildThornberrys'' movie released in 2003. Thus making it a {{Crossover}} for both series.

Stu takes his family and friends on a cruise and after getting caught in a storm they wash up a deserted island.

Tommy's hero Nigel Thornberry and his family happen to be on the same island filming a documentary.

The babies search the island for [[{{Malaproper}} "Nigel Strawberry"]] (not knowing for sure that he's there) and Nigel finds them, but then a coconut falls on Nigel's head and he gets amnesia, making him think he's a baby.

Though it did earn enough money to cover its $25 million budget, it was still a box-office disappointment, only making $39,402,572 in domestic gross. It also didn't help that it was released in a congested market of movie sequels that year.

!!''Rugrats Go Wild!'' provides examples of the following tropes:
* AscendedExtra
** Susie gets to join in on the adventure after being a only minor character in the first two movies.
** And Spike is now an supporting character, thanks to Eliza Thornberry's [[SpeaksFluentAnimal power]] giving him a speaking role.
* {{Badass}}: Quite a few characters, actually.
** After a first act brimming with EpicFail, Stu gets one in designing a Rube-Goldbergesque system to [[spoiler: raise the Comvee, leading to the rescue of Nigel and the babies.]]
** Spike should get special mention for [[spoiler:brazenly humiliating a clouded leopard,]] risking drowning to [[spoiler: retrieve the raft for the pontoon repair,]] and being voiced by BruceWillis.
** Betty pretty much spends the film overcompensating for Howard's breakdown. She dives back into the wreck to save a life raft (and Dil's pacifier,) breaks up the group's roundtable shouting match, and takes an active role in the [[spoiler: Comvee salvage]] alongside experienced explorer Marianne Thornberry.
** The three most self-interested characters in the movie each get a moment of their own. Charlotte spearheads the escape of the capsizing boat (complete with informed FanService ActionDressRip.) Angelica manages to [[spoiler: pilot the bathysphere well enough to rescue the babies, Suzie and Nigel from the cave, even if they smack into an even bigger mess.]] Debbie's is minor, but she does provide a crucial element to the [[spoiler: Comvee raising- the gum to hold the patch in place for the pontoon. She even dives in herself to secure it.]]
* BambooTechnology
* BigDamnHeroes: When Siri catches up to the babies, Donnie springs into action, wearing Chuckie's clothes and wielding Dil's stroller like a katana. He does no great damage to the leopard, but he pretty much ensures the kids' escape single-handed.
* CatsAreMean: Siri the clouded leopard.
* ChekhovsGun
** [[spoiler: Chuckie's shoes, the only bit of clothing Donnie doesn't return. They serve as the parents' alert that the tykes are missing, leading them to chase him until they meet Marianne, pretty much setting up Act 3.]]
** Also, the [[spoiler:raft that Betty retrieves in the shipwreck. Spike retrieves it in Act 3 so the adults can patch the sunken Comvee's busted pontoon.]]
* TheCloudCuckooLanderWasRight: Not quite "cloudcuckoolander", but it has the same principle; Angelica tries to freak the babies out by telling them that a giant squid will try to eat them. [[spoiler:Sure enough, the group encounters a giant squid in the bathysphere (although it's depicted as a GentleGiant)]].
* ContinuityNod: Nigel receives a blow to the head and believes he's a baby, just like Stu in the ''Rugrats'' episode "Regarding Stuie". Also, at one point as Chuckie is wandering through the jungle, he sees a bunch of monkeys and screams, "Oh no! Not monkeys!" in reference to the first movie in which one of the babies' greatest enemies was a troop of circus monkeys that were following them [[spoiler: and chased Chuckie to and nearly off a cliff.]]
* ContrivedCoincidence
* CreatorKiller: The film's failure pretty much stopped Nickelodeon and Klasky-Csupo's 10+ year partnership dead in it's tracks.
* {{Crossover}}: The main marketing gimmick for the movie since both series were very popular at the time.
* {{Deleted Scene}}s: A few {{Cut Song}}s and a short scene showing Betty fishing with a spear and Didi being horrified by her "inhumane" methods.
* DemotedToExtra: Grandpa Lou.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: Sure, nobody is really going to die in a ''Rugrats'' movie, but one of the darkest moments in the film is when [[spoiler:Nigel and the babies are trapped in the bathysphere on the ocean floor, out of fuel and, soon, oxygen. Nigel]] decides, rather than panicking, to keep the [[spoiler:kids]] distracted by [[spoiler:singing "Old [=MacDonald=]."]] The expression on [[spoiler:his]] face every time [[spoiler:he]] looks at the [[spoiler:oxygen gauge]] shows a clear lack of expectation to survive.
* InjuryBookend: [[WesternAnimation/TheWildThornberrys Nigel Thornberry]] falls on his head and regresses to believing he's three years old. Later, when chaos ensues inside a small sub, a subsequent whack to the head restores his memory
* IWouldSayIfICouldSay
-->'''Spike''' ''(while he's trying to get the raft)'': I've battled my way through more tennis balls then I can count! If I could count!
* IntergenerationalFriendship : Angelica and Debbie, and Nigel with all the kids, especially with Tommy.
* MacGyvering
* MirrorRoutine: Chuckie and Donnie do this through a waterfall after Donnie takes Chuckie's clothes and glasses.
* MistakenIdentity: When the babies see Donnie wearing Chuckie's clothes (and his glasses), they assume he's Chuckie. It doesn't help that they (somewhat) resemble each other anyway.
* OhCrap: Eliza's response when she realizes that Siri wants to eat the babies.
* PredatorsAreMean: Siri. She likes to [[EatsBabies eat babies]] simply ForTheEvulz!
* SeldomSeenSpecies: Siri the Sunda clouded leopard
* SpotlightStealingSquad: This is more of a ''Rugrats'' movie. With the exception of Nigel, the Thornberrys don't do much.
* StealthPun: Stu Pickles buying everyone tickets for a luxury cruise, then making them take a smaller, rickety looking boat instead, resulting in everyone getting shipwrecked. In short what he did was completely Stu-pid.
* SuddenlyVoiced: Spike [[note]]Full name: "Down-Spike-Down-Get-Off-That-Couch!"[[/note]], by BruceWillis. Though at the very least, this is explained through Eliza's powers of talking with other animals. Naturally, this is the only time in the series he does talk, so it's not a permanent thing.
* [[VillainSong Villain]] [[TheVillainSucksSong (Sucks) Song]]: The "Big Bad Cat" number is a combination of both, where it's a [[TheVillainSucksSong Villain Sucks Song]] for Spike, and a VillainSong for Siri.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: It was originally made as an hour long TV special, but test audience reactions were so positive it was rewritten and reanimated for theatrical release.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Siri at first, seemed to be a major antagonist in the film. She only appears in a few scenes [[KarmaHoudini and is never seen or mentioned again.]]
