''Breadwinners'' is an animated series on Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} that stars two anthropomorphic ducks named [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce as they deliver bread in their [[CoolCar jet-powered Rocket Van]] on their home planet of Pondgea, created by former ''WesternAnimation/{{Mad}}'' writers Gary "Doodles" [=DiRaffale=] and Steve Borst.

It was originally shown as a Website/YouTube short before [[http://www.nick-asia.com/shows/breadwinners/videos/digital-original-short-breadwinners-riduckulous-driving/q9l8pg Nickelodeon remade it]] as part of its inaugural [[WesternAnimation/NickelodeonAnimatedShortsProgram Animated Shorts Program]], then picked it up for a 20-episode first season premiering on February 17, 2014. The show continued to air for over a year, after which it was pulled from the main network. ''Breadwinners'' [[ChannelHop moved]] to Creator/{{Nicktoons}} for its last eleven episodes, which finished airing on August 22, 2016.

Has nothing to do with [[Literature/TheBreadwinner a novel about Afghanistan in the 1990s]] or [[WesternAnimation/TheBreadwinner its animated adaptation]].

[[folder:#--L]]
* AbnormalAmmo: In "Rocket Trouble" and "From Bad to Nurse" the Breadwinners get a bread cannon. Later in "Food Fight Club", Buhdeuce uses a bread-firing crossbow.
* AbusiveParents: T-Midi's mother is constantly demanding and gives T-Midi strict rules.
* ActionGirl: Almost every main female.
** Ketta is an ace mechanic and uses her smarts to save the day.
** Rambamboo is such a tough cop, even a monster is afraid of her.
** Jelly applies to this in "PB & J", she easily fights off a group of panda-like bears.
** Zoona and Roni are a little less of this than the other girls, but in their debut, they helped the Breadwinners fight off monsters.
* ActorAllusion:
** The Breadmaker turns into a [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk green monster]] in "Mine All Mine".
** In "Birthday Bread",[=SwaySway=] comes across a loaf called Tuxedo Bread. [=SwaySway=]'s voice actor Creator/RobbieDaymond voiced Tuxedo Mask in the Creator/VizMedia re-dub of the 1990s ''Anime/SailorMoon'' anime.
* AffectionateParody: "Bye Bye Booty" is probably one of the kids' books and TV Show "The Day My Butt Went Psycho" which features a character named Deuce.
* AgonyOfTheFeet: In "Quazy for Vanessa" the duo accidentally drives over Oonski's foot, and then we get a shot of his boot ripped open and his foot turned purple.
* AerithAndBob: Names of the characters: [=SwaySway=], Buhdeuce, T-Midi, Rambamboo, and Jenny.
* AIIsACrapshoot:
** In "Rocket Trouble", Ketta builds [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce two robot doubles that eventually declare them unnecessary.
** In "Kettastrophe", Ketta upgrades the duo's toilet, and it [[RuleOfFunny somehow]] turns into a robot that tries to kill them.
* AffectionateNickname:
** [=SwaySway=] calls Buhdeuce "Deucer".
** Bread Maker calls the Breadwinners nicknames like "ducklings" and "bro-chachos". He even has nicknames for his arch-rival Lava Mole such as "Mole-chacho" and "Lava Mole Amigo".
** [=SwaySway=] called Talonious Midi "T-Midi" when he first met him and the nickname stuck.
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: Jelly, the Breadwinners' pet frog, acts just like a dog.
* AlphaBitch: Zoona and her sidekick Roni. Somewhat justified since they're influenced by their mean-spirited boss.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: All monsters in Breadwinners will eat any smaller creature they see and even each other. [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce befriend a baby monster, but when he grows up he is rude, obnoxious, and breaks the law.
** Every mole portrayed in Breadwinners is a bully and they all hate the Bread Maker. They even hang out with the monsters.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: The Bread Maker is known as the greatest fighter in Pondgea. However, his brother Santa Crust is more skilled of a fighter than he is. Subverted because the Bread Maker humbly admits his brother is a better fighter before anyone knows it.
** In "Substitute Breadwinner", [=SwaySway=] considers himself the best breadwinner ever, but Ketta is proven to be a more competent Breadwinner than him. The only thing he can do better is his secret knock.
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife[=/=]AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: The Breadwinners are bright green and their rivals, the Pizzawinners have purple beaks and blue hair.
** There is a species called "Ponda Bears" which are basically little green pandas.
* AnimateInanimateObject: A portrait of T-Midi's mother.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: In "Birds of a Feather" Rambamboo charges Buhdeuce with speeding, not signaling, and because Jelly was slobbering in a no-slobbering zone.
* ArtEvolution: A remake of the original Website/YouTube short was shown on Nick.com, which features an 8-bit effect, more detail to the backgrounds, and improved voice acting.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology: Too much bread would kill a duck.
* AskAStupidQuestion: After the boys receive the golden toaster from The Breadmaker, they continue to assault him with dumb questions.
-->'''Buhdeuce''': Uh, [[ToiletHumor do you poop?]]\\
'''The Breadmaker''': YES! '''Everybody''' poops!
* AssKicksYou: "Buh-buh-buh Booty kick!"
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: Buhdeuce becomes the leader of the biker duck gang by defeating their previous leader.
* AteTheSpoon: In "Brocrastination" when [=SwaySway=] is trying to clean the duo's toxic pile of dirty dishes he scrubs it with a loofah, which the mass of bacteria around the dishes eats.
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: Giant monsters seem to be a common species on Pondgea, which cause all sorts of problems to our heroes and the rest of the population, even Oonski.
** In the episode "Buhdeuce Goes Berserks", Buhdeuce goes berserk after getting one too many [[TraumaticHaircut terrible haircuts]] and grows bigger and meaner every time he sees his horrible hair. He eventually grows so big that he stands slightly taller than the average building.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: T-Midi is a jerk who acts like he hates [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce, but in "TNT-Midi", he cares about them. In "Bro's Night Out", "A Crustmas Story", "Birthday Bread" and "Slumber Party of Horror", he is shown to actually like hanging around them.
* AxCrazy: Oonski the Great.
* BadassAdorable: Jelly in "PB & J"
* BeachEpisode: "Beach Day of Horror".
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Lampshaded/alluded to in "Love Loaf", where [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce disguise themselves as girl campers to infiltrate an all-girls camp in order to find Jenny Quackles. Their cover is [[AccidentalPun blown]] when Buhdeuce farts, and one of the campers says that that could only come from a boy.
* BerserkButton:
** Don't mess with [=SwaySway=]'s hat, or erase his high score on his ''Ducky Kong'' machine.
** Don't give Buhdeuce a bad haircut.
** Invoked in the episode "Viking Ducks" where [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce had to prove to Oonski that they could get really angry on a whim for their "Anger Management Training".
--->'''Buhdeuce:''' How do I get mad at a guy who hasn't done anything wrong?\\
'''[=SwaySway=]:''' Just... pretend he ate your last loaf of jelly-filled alfalfa bread.\\
'''Buhdeuce:''' [[PunctuatedForEmphasis MY. LAST. LOAF?!]] (to Viking duck) YOU CROSSED THE LINE, BUDDY!\\
...\\
'''[=SwaySway=]:''' Oh man. I hate being not nice.\\
'''Buhdeuce:''' C'mon Sway, just pretend he smooched up Jenny Quackles.\\
'''[=SwaySway=]:''' (to Viking duck) [[PunctuatedForEmphasis YOU. CROSSED. THE LINE, BUDDY!]]
** [=SwaySway=] will go on a torture spree if anyone hurts Buhdeuce.
* BetweenMyLegs: A common occurrence, usually with the legs having [[GrossUpCloseUp unnecessary detail]].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: [=SwaySway=] is a nice and happy guy, but if anyone hurts Buhdeuce they will pay.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: In "Poltergoose" the title character is annoying at worst but is generally friendly. But after [=SwaySway=], Ketta, and Buhdeuce hurt his feelings, he tries to kill Ketta and comes really close to ending her life.
* BigBrotherInstinct: [=SwaySway=] has a strong bond with Buhdeuce. In "Big Screen Buhdeuce" [=SwaySway=] finds out the movie crew is treating Buhdeuce horribly. So he tortured them with magic bread.
** Ketta acts like a big sister to [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce, she is always there to save them when a situation needs her smarts and she hugs them when they are okay. She also keeps them in line in "Viking Ducks" and "Don't Feed the Duckosaurs".
* BigEater: Buhdeuce. He loves eating so much that when [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce switched bodies in one episode, not only did Sway gain Buhdeuce's never-ending appetite, but it's apparently so strong that it was developing into a form of HorrorHunger due to Sway being unable to control it.
* BigNo: Used for SwaySway and Buhdeuce when something bad happens
* BlackComedyRape: At the end of "Love Loaf", when [=SwaySway=] tries to [[ForceFeeding feed]] Jenny the titular loaf in her sleep at summer camp, it turns out to be three camp counselors who eat the bread, attack the Breadwinners, and start [[DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale licking them]]. They escape in their underwear.
* BringMyBrownPants: From "Rocket Trouble":
-->'''[=SwaySway=]''': I think...we're out of gas.\\
'''Buhdeuce''': I think...I'm out of clean underwear.
* CatchPhrase: The show has several of these, in a fashion not unlike ''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog'' where characters repeat their catchphrases with just about the same inflection every time. Ketta even lampshades this in one episode, saying that the Breadwinners should be doing a job that doesn't involve "flying around shouting catchphrases all day". To go through the most common ones:
** Buhdeuce:
--->Bubble nuggets!\\
[[CallingYourAttacks Booty Kick!]]\\
No-buh-dooby-doo.\\
Yippity-yip-yip!
** [=SwaySway=]:
--->Ow-chihuahua!\\
My ducky-duck(s).\\
[[CallingYourAttacks Party Punch!]]\\
YO-reka! (Eureka)
** Ketta:
---> Honk!\\
Whoa-mi-gosh!
** T-Midi:
---> Sheesh-a-roo-roo!\\
Abso-hoot-ly! (most of the time followed by "not!")
** Pumpers:
---> Boom yummy!
** Oonski:
---> Eat! Beat! Steal!\\
Viking's honor!
* TheChewToy: T-Midi usually has to endure being beaten up (not on purpose) by the Breadwinners' antics. Sometimes he brings it upon himself, however.
** In "Bye Bye Booty" Buhdeuce booty-kicks an innocent bunny for no reason.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: The Lava Mole played a few large roles. He desperately wants to win against the Bread Maker. But since his last defeat in “Raging Mole” he was never seen again.
* ClonesArePeopleToo: Despite [=SwaySway=] telling Buhdeuce he's more important than the clones, the two let them live next door instead of killing them off.
* CoolCar: The Rocket Van.
* ContinuityNod: In "Poltergoose", the ghost of the Breadwinners' dishwasher that ran off and fell from the Swamp Pad in "Brocrastination" appears in the Pondgea Triangle telling them "Still not doing the dishes, bros!"
* CutenessProximity: In "Food Fight Club", Buhdeuce has this reaction towards a baby duckling girl riding in a stroller (much to her annoyance), which causes the bread he was guarding to be stolen.
* DamselInDistress: Jelly in "Tunnel of Fear" and "The Princess Frog Bride"
* DanceSensation: When Buhdeuce goes WildChild inside a cruise ship and starts thrashing a buffet, [=SwaySway=] covers for him by claiming that he's performing the latest dance craze. Soon, everyone on the ship starts doing it, much to the captain's consternation.
* DependingOnTheWriter: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are either TrueCompanions or WithFriendsLikeThese. In one episode they will be risking their lives for each other while in others they don't care for each other's safety at all.
* DepravedDentist: Mentioned and shown in "Tunnel of Fear", when Buhdeuce is trying to figure out what, if anything, [=SwaySway=] is afraid of. He asks if it's a "crazy dentist", causing one to briefly [[ItMakesSenseInContext appear out of thin air]].
* DistaffCounterpart: The Pizzawinners, Zoona & Roni, are this to the Breadwinners.
* DistressedDude: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are the main heroes, but they often get into situations they can’t handle by themselves and have to be saved by another character.
* DoABarrelRoll: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce do this too much, to the point that is explicitly stated in the theme's lyrics.
-->'''Buhdeuce''': [=SwaySway=]!\\
'''[=SwaySway=]''': Buhdeuce!\\
'''Buhdeuce''': Do a barrel roll, man!
* {{Dubstep}}: Features a lot of this.
* DrivenToSuicide: Buhdeuce lets a monster eat him because he thinks [=SwaySway=] doesn't love him anymore. When the latter apologizes, he tries to escape, implying he was really considering letting himself be digested.
* EasilyForgiven: The Breadwinners are forgiven for bringing a bread-craving zombie apocalypse. However, the Bread Maker does punish them by banning them from baking bread.
* EverybodyCries: In the episode "A Crustmas Story", [=SwaySway=], Buhdeuce, T-Midi, Ketta, Oonski, and the Bread Maker turn their waterworks on when they think that Santa Crust will be unable to visit due to the blizzard.
* {{Expy}}:
** Steven Quackberg is a duck's perspective of Creator/StevenSpielberg.
** Ketta is very similar to Gadget Hackwrench from ''WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers''; both characters are [[GenkiGirl bubbly]] [[WrenchWench Wrench Wenches]] with reddish hair who sport headgear of some sort (Ketta's helmet and Gadget's goggles).
** Buhdeuce's personality, outfit, and relationship with his big brother figure are somewhat similar to Guapo from ''WesternAnimation/TheBrothersFlub''.
** Their personalities aren't similar, but Zoona's colors and voice being the same as Twilight Sparkle's is probably not a coincidence.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Oonski sings a Christmas carol about all the things he steals, but he refuses to steal six crying babies.
* EyeScream:
** In "Thug Loaf" when [=SwaySway=] is fighting the leader of the biker ducks, he kicks himself in the eye.
** In "Rocket Trouble" when [=SwaySway=] asks Buhdeuce what the #1 rule of being a Breadwinner is, the latter responds "Never eat your eyeballs?" as he's inexplicably eating his left eye, complete with a visible brain through the socket.
** In "Oonski the Grateful" the two and Oonski manage to knock out two of the monster's eyes.
** In "Night of the Living Bread" when [=SwaySway=] is fighting to stop Buhdeuce from eating a loaf of Irresistibly Craveable Bread, he tells Buhdeuce that they can't be friends if the latter is a zombie. Buhdeuce lets go of the bread and it gets lodged in [=SwaySway=]'s left eye.
** Near the end of "Flock Collecting", Buhdeuce high-fives the captain of the Rockulan ship in the eye.
* FacialHorror: In "Quazy for Vanessa" when [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are flying away from Oonski, Buhdeuce's face gets ground against several buildings, leaving the left side of his skull exposed.
* FakeBoobs: [=SwaySway=]'s girl disguise in "Love Loaf" features two tennis balls as a bra stuffer. One pops out. It happens again in "Wrath of the Pizza Lord".
* FanDisservice: In "Shrunken Ducks" there's a lot of focus on Rambamboo's big butt, but she also has hairy legs and there are some close-ups of her scaly skin.
* FantasticRacism: Captain Goosington, a goose, calls [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce "lower life forms".
* FatAndSkinny: Combined with BigGuyLittleGuy since Buhdeuce's small-yet-round size is due to him being younger than the pencil-thin [=SwaySway=], but he's still depicted as the strongest of the two. Routine-wise, [[RuleOfFunny the two switch roles often.]] In general, Buhdeuce will display moments of stupidity more often than Sway, who will usually try to correct and/or save Buhdeuce if the little guy is particularly dumb. However, Sway's not immune to dumb moments himself and will sometimes hatch an unnecessarily "quazy" plan to solve something that could be resolved in a more simple and reasonable manner. Whenever [=SwaySway=]'s gone crazy, Buhdeuce will almost always become more intelligent and act as a StraightMan that lampshades everything regarding Sway's plans while reluctantly going along with his buddy.
* FieryRedhead: Chief Rambamboo is an extremely quick-tempered, aggressive ActionGirl cop.
* FoodEatsYou: The Emerald Loaf in "The Brave and the Mold", which [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce free to eat all the mold on the mine, turns on them and tries to eat them because they're green like mold.
* FunnyAnimal: The two main characters are ducks. Ketta's a swan that resembles the Breadwinners' design, T-Midi's an owl, and Mr. Pumper's a stork.
* FurryConfusion: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are anthropomorphic ducks who look more humanoid and think and talk while the rest of the ducks are photo-realistic and only quack. Some of them don't even wear clothes.
** To make it even more confusing one of the realistic ducks walks an even more realistic duck on a leash.
** Jelly is a frog who acts like a dog, while Rambamboo is a toad who is completely sentient.
* FurryReminder: Sometimes [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce eat their food like real ducks would and quack.
** Rambamboo not only enjoys eating flies but she uses her tongue like a real toad would.
** Every time Ketta says something funny she says "honk!"
* {{Gasshole}}: Buhdeuce.
-->"Once the seal is broken, the fart gates cannot be closed."
* GenkiGirl: Ketta is very bubbly and energetic.
* GenreThrowback: Stated to be a return to [[TheNineties 90's]] Nicktoons like ''WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow'' and ''WesternAnimation/RockosModernLife''.
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: In "Lost at Pond", the stranded Breadwinners go into "survival mode", acting like cavemen while they forage for food. As soon as a cruise ship arrives, [=SwaySway=] snaps out of it, but Buhdeuce doesn't and wreaks havoc inside the ship.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Ketta's robot doubles of [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce eventually try to replace them.
* GoodParents: [=SwaySway's=] Mom and Dad are affectionate towards their son, they teach him about responsibility, they believe in him despite his flaws, and they encourage him to find a best friend, leading him to meet Buhdeuce.
* GratuitousSpanish: The Bread Maker says Spanish words or puns based on Spanish words.
* GrossUpCloseUp: Happens often and usually involves things like mucus and other such [[SarcasmMode wonderful things]] attached to this camera view.
* GreenIsGross: Farts are represented by a green gas cloud.
* GroundhogDayLoop: The plot of "Yeasterday" is about Buhdeuce using loaves of Yeasterday Bread to get do-overs on an otherwise terrible day to cheer up [=SwaySway=]. Unfortunately, FailureIsTheOnlyOption because every time he tries to do everything right [=SwaySway=] gets maimed as opposed to just being sad, including getting crushed by a satellite shortly after waking up, so Buhdeuce tries to do everything how it goes in timeline A and inadvertently saves [=SwaySway=] from the pond monster that eats him in timeline B.
* HereWeGoAgain:
** At the end of "Stank Breath" the duo has cured Buhdeuce's breath only for him to eat another bread that gives him horrible gas, which proceeds to form into a fist and punch [=SwaySway=].
** After learning their lesson about not putting off cleaning the dishes in "Brocrastination", Buhdeuce and [=SwaySway=] put off picking up the dishes after Jelly breaks them all.
** At the end of "Fowl Feud" after getting mad at each other and working by themselves to destroy their property, they're reunited after getting new add-ons from Ketta, their "party punches" destroy the add-ons, causing the two to get mad at each other again.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce.
* {{Idiot Hero}}es: While both fit, Buhdeuce invokes the trope more often than not. Other times, [=SwaySway=] falls into this (usually during the times he gets a crazy idea) and Buhdeuce turns into an OnlySaneMan if he's not going along with Sway's plans.
* IKnowMortalKombat: The boys put off washing the dishes by playing a video game about cleaning dishes. Later, when they have to deal with a bacteria monster, they use the same skills they learned from the video game.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: Buhdeuce with Rambamboo and T-Midi with Mrs. Furfle.
* InexplicablyTailless: Inverted. Jelly has a small tail despite being a frog. Played straight with [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce.
* InformedSpecies: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are ducks, but can easily be mistaken for some kind of amphibian.
* IntelligibleUnintelligible: The photorealistic ducks can only quack, but all the cartoony, English-speaking ducks can understand them.
* IronButtMonkey: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce get hurt a lot, sometimes to the point of breaking their bones, but they end up okay in the next shot. This applies to almost every other character.
* ITasteDelicious: To get rid of [[spoiler: the Emerald Loaf that tries to eat them]] in "The Brave and the Mold", [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce trick it into eating itself, as it seems to feed on anything green.
* ItCameFromTheFridge: In "Brocrastination" the guys haven't cleaned the dishes in one, or two years tops, so long that the bacteria growing on them form a giant BlobMonster.
* ItsAllAboutMe: PlayedForLaughs when Buhdeuce eats part of the Love Loaf and falls in love with himself.
* JennysNumber: The original short has Buhdeuce and [=SwaySway=] delivering toast to Jenny Quackles at 8675309 Webster Lane.
* {{Jerkass}}:
** T-Midi who acts like a royal upper-class twit and more than willingly acts rude toward [=SwaySway=] and Buhduce.
** Buhdeuce becomes one temporarily in "Love Loaf" after becoming self-obsessed due to the Love Loaf's effects.
* JustWhistle: The Breadmaker gives [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce a magic toaster that they can use to summon him in an emergency.
* JerkassBall: Every once in a while, [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce can be pretty nasty to each other even though they are best friends.
* KarmicMisfire: In "Food Fight Club", T-Midi avoids being arrested for leading the titular club because [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce took control right before the police showed up, resulting in the latter two going to jail instead.
%%* {{Keet}}: Buhdeuce.
* [[LastOfHisKind Last of Their Kind]]: It's stated that [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are the last Breadwinners on Pondgea.
* TheLastStraw:
** After getting fat on the Breadwinners and Pizzawinners' pizzas, all it takes is one slice of pepperoni to make the Pizza Lord explode.
** Throughout "Roboloafie", the titular peacekeeper arrests people [[FelonyMisdemeanor for minor infractions]] and launches them out of his ArmCannon into the prison until it's full to bursting. It explodes when the Breadwinners get him to arrest himself.
* LevelAte: The entirety of Pondgea is made of bread (though it doesn't look like it is). [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce mine it from inside the planet like mineral ore.
* LovePotion: The Love Loaf. Anyone who eats it falls in love with the first person they see.
* LustObject: Jenny Quackles is little more than something to be lusted after.
* LyricalDissonance: In "Crumbskull" when [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce destroy the meteor headed toward Pondgea in the process of destroying the weapon they were riding, they sing an upbeat yet despairful song about them falling to their deaths.
-->Now we're falling to our doom,\\
To our doom, to our doom,\\
We're gonna be goners,\\
Gonna end up in a tomb!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:M-Z]]
* ManHug: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce often hug, which they call "Duck Hugs".
* TheMentor: The Breadmaker serves this to the duo.
* MichaelJacksonsThrillerParody: One in "Night of the Living Bread", as you would expect from this show.
* MickeyMousing: The action in many scenes is synchronized to the beat of the background score.
* MiningForCookies: The main characters deliver bread, which they get from mines deep in the planet of Pondgea.
* MirrorCrackingUgly: In "Bad to the Duck Bone", when [=SwaySway=] first eats the Dark Rye, he looks at himself in a mirror and it cracks...then [[StuffBlowingUp explodes]].
* MouthyBird: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce have lip-like bills that make them look more like frogs.
%%* TheNapoleon: Rambamboo.
* NeverSayDie: The most notable change between the original short and the Nick.com remake are some lines Buhdeuce says:
-->'''(Original)''': Does this mean we're gonna crash and burn and die a fiery death?\\
'''(Remake)''': Does this mean we're gonna crash and burn and end up roast meat?
** Later:
--->'''(Original)''': Yeah! And we didn't even die once!\\
'''(Remake)''': Yeah! And we're even still alive [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment still]]!
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Buhdeuce and [=SwaySway=] both have the ability to "Level Up" which usually means they get new outfits/powers for whatever they need to do. Played with that half the time the 'powers' either fail to solve their problem or only serve to make the situation worse.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: If Steven Quackberg didn't get Rambamboo to help him get his film back, she wouldn't have found out [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce didn't have the right signatures and canceled the movie.
* NobodyPoops: Averted, according to The Breadmaker after Buhdeuce asks him if he poops.
* NoIndoorVoice: 75% of the character's dialogue is either screaming or yelling.
* NotHyperbole: In "Buhdeuce Goes Berserks", Buhdeuce states that he's so angry he can take a bite out of a building, then rips a building out of the ground and eats the entire thing.
* NotSoStoic: The Breadmaker, who's usually cool and collected, breaks down when trying to cure the zombie outbreak in "Night of the Living Bread". Apparently, he's not great under pressure.
* NurseWithGoodIntentions: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce in "From Bad to Nurse", in trying to help T-Midi after they end up seriously injuring him. HilarityEnsues.
* OcularGushers: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce in "Adventures in Big Baby Bun Sitting" when Trippa-B gets arrested.
* OhNoNotAgain: In "Crumbskull" when the Rocket Van is falling out of the sky:
-->'''Ketta''': "Well, looks like the guys are plummeting to their doom...again."
* OnlyOneName: Everyone except for T-Midi and Buhdeuce Bersukovich.
* OrganAutonomy: In many gags, Buhdeuce's body parts often have a mind of their own. His brain, belly, and even nipples are a few examples. In "Bye Bye Booty", Buhdeuce's butt is sentient and has a love-hate relationship with Buhdeuce.
* OurMonstersAreDifferent: All of the monsters have round bodies, big lips, small white horns, and three eyes.
* PalsWithJesus: The titular Breadwinners are friends with a 6,000-7,000-year-old man who creates all the bread they eat. The Breadmaker is also affectionate and protective towards them, calling them "his young ducklings".
* PhlebotinumInducedStupidity: In "Crumbskull" [=SwaySway=] Buhdeuce accidentally gives Ketta a type of bread that causes this.
* PhysicalAttributeSwap: "Switcheroo" has [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce switch physical builds and the powers they grant, so [=SwaySway=] becomes short and Buhdeuce becomes tall, with a transformation sequence of their body parts changing length. [=SwaySway=] also becomes a BigEater in this form.
* PlotRelevantAgeUp:
** In "Adventures in Big Baby Bun Sitting", Big Baby Buns ages into a teenager almost immediately after he's left in the Breadwinners' care and rechristens himself Trippa-B. By the end of the episode, he's now a young adult and rechristens himself Big Bartholomew Buns.
** A more comedic example in "Birthday Bread" is when Buhdeuce eats the entire loaf of the eponymous bread and becomes an old man. [=SwaySway=] takes him to the [[FountainOfYouth Fountain of Yeast]] to regain his youth, but he stays in too long and becomes a baby, meaning [=SwaySway=] [[HereWeGoAgain now has to get him another loaf of Birthday Bread]].
%% * RabidCop: Rambamboo.
* RageBreakingPoint: In "Kettastrophe", what finally causes [=SwaySway=] to get fed up with Ketta upgrading everything in the Swamp Pad is hearing that she deleted the high scores on his arcade game, which took ten years for him to build. He proceeds to [[HulkingOut hulk out]] and destroys the cabinet in a rage.
* RedOniBlueOni: [=SwaySway=] is the Blue Oni to Buhdeuce's Red; the former is the relatively coolheaded leader while the latter is the more hotheaded, impulsive follower. [[ClothingReflectsPersonality It's even reflected in the colors of their uniforms]].
* RememberedICouldFly: When the Rocket Van crashes into the ocean in "Lost at Pond", the boys think they're going to drown, but then remember that they're ducks and thus know how to swim.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Jelly, the Breadwinners' pet frog, who happens to [[AllAnimalsAreDogs act like a dog]].
* RiseOfZitboy: In "Bad Zituation", [=SwaySway=] is dismayed when he gets a very prominent blemish on his face. Even when no one notices it, he still considers it bad enough to exile himself to Monster Island.
* {{Robinsonade}}: "Lost at Pond", where the Rocket Van runs out of gas in the middle of the ocean-sized pond that covers much of Pondgea.
* RobotMe: In "Rocket Trouble" Ketta makes robots of [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce to help them.
* RocketPunch: For some reason, Party Punch is usually depicted with the hands of the Party Punchers flying off their wrists.
* TheRunaway: In "Buhdouble Trouble" Buhdeuce runs away from home because he thinks [=SwaySway=] doesn't love him anymore because he has about a hundred clones of him.
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: In "Rocket Trouble", when [=SwaySway=], Buhdeuce and their robot counterparts are falling from space back to Pondgea, the latter yell "Frightened scream!"
* ScaledUp: In "Back to the Duck Bone", when [=SwaySway=] is under the influence of Dark Rye, he dubs himself [=SnakeSnake=]. When he later eats nine loaves of Dark Rye at once, this trope ensues.
* ScaryStingingSwarm: The reason T-Midi refuses to let the Breadwinners into his party in "TNT-Midi" is that the last time they came, they brought honey bread that contained beehives full of live bees.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: In "Brocrastination", [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce's pile of dirty dishes is so offensive that their dishwasher comes to life and runs away.
* ShakingTheRump: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce are very prone to doing this.
* ShoutOut:
** The opening references the [[invoked]]MemeticMutation "Do a barrel roll" from ''VideoGame/StarFox64''.
** References "867-5309/Jenny".
** [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce's "Level Up" transformations:
*** "Beach Day of Horror" and "Lil' Loafie": [[Music/GunsNRoses Axl Rose and Slash]]
*** "Lil' Loafie": [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Luigi and Mario]]
*** "Night of the Living Bread": Van Helsing and [[Franchise/EvilDead Ash Williams]]
*** "Raging Mole": Wrestling/HulkHogan and Wrestling/RandySavage
** At the beginning of "Stank Breath", you can see the skull of [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 an Engineer with a Towering Pillar of Hats, a Mining Light, and a Texas Ten-Gallon and his goggles still on]] next to the [[Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk Ark of the Covenant]] in the dirt above during the first few seconds [[http://media.tumblr.com/851b3c57cca507b61f552ad944551086/tumblr_inline_n1s1saR7my1s0hxfy.png]]. Later on, there's one to ''WebAnimation/TheLazerCollection'' when Buhdeuce uses his breath as a weapon against the monsters in the cave.
*** In "Lil' Loafie", T-Midi locks Loafie in a chest that also looks like the Ark of the Covenant.
** In "Rocket Trouble" Ketta names the duo's robot duplicates [[Franchise/StarWars Sway-3PO and B2-D2]]. The episode also has Sway-3PO saying "[[Franchise/MortalKombat Get over here!]]" while forcefully grabbing the real [=SwaySway=].
** The title card of "Lost at Pond" blatantly alludes to ''Film/{{Jaws}}''.
** In "From Bad to Nurse", when Buhdeuce is firing the Breadzooka around T-Midi's house, he briefly becomes Franchise/{{Rambo}}.
** In "Birds of a Feather", the last Breadwinner candidate is named ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}'' and even wears the trademark green sweater vest and brown slacks.
** "Shrunken Ducks" features shrink and grow bread, with the latter being full of [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros rather familiar mushrooms]].
** "Flock Collecting" features the Rockulans, who are ''Franchise/StarTrek'' parodies right down to their name.
* ShownTheirWork: It's minor, but [[https://youtu.be/O6sdvv8_pSU?t=12s the Barrel Roll they do in the opening]] [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrel_roll actually looks like a Barrel Roll]].
* StealthPun: [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce mine bread out of the planet's ''crust''.
* SquishTheCheeks: [=SwaySway=] likes to do this to Buhdeuce.
* StockFootage: The "Level-Up" sequences, some of the Rocket Van take-offs, and Ketta's "fixify" mode all reuse the same animations, though they still retain subtle/appropriate differences every time they happen.
* StylisticSuck: The animation is choppy, but that's because it's supposed to reflect the feel of old-school video games. It also makes the [[AnimationBump non-choppy animation more noticeable when it happens]].
* TakeAThirdOption: In "Lil' Loafie", when the Breadwinners are fighting with T-Midi over custody of Lil' Loafie and [=SwaySway=] eats T-Midi's receipt, Rambamboo figures that the decision should be Lil' Loafie's. As an inanimate object, he falls over and "picks" her.
* TakeThat: A hater of ''Breadwinners'' drew a picture of [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce's heads being mounted. Almost a year later, Breadfoot did the same to them.
* TestosteronePoisoning: Oonski the Great, a Viking beaver with NoIndoorVoice or etiquette, whose catchphrase is '''"EAT! BEAT! STEAL!"'''.
* ToiletHumour: In "From Bad to Nurse", Buhdeuce and [=SwaySway=] take care of T-Midi while he's hurt. As they put him in a bathtub (with the two of them in it), [=SwaySway=] says "We're just doing our duty." Then Buhdeuce says "Yeah, doing our doody in the bathtub!" and farts, causing a ''fat bread loaf to come out of the tub, resembling a turd''.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Ketta loves rollerskating and can kick butt with her mechanics, but in "TNT-Midi", she had no complaints about having to wear a dress.
* TorsoWithAView: This happens to Buhdeuce in "Wolf Head Bread" when T-Midi's loaf of Laser Eye Rye shoots a laser through him.
* TotallyRadical: The show's dialogue (or at least [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce's dialogue) consists of a lot of slang and modern (for TheNewTens) lingo.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Bread to the citizens of Pondgea, and the citizens for the three-eyed monsters.
* VagueAge:
** [=SwaySway=] has a job and license and lives alone with Buhdeuce, but in "Chest Hair Club" he is only just then confirmed to be a "man".
** It's harder to tell with Buhdeuce, he has a job, but in "Chest Hair Club" he is not allowed to see an adult-rated movie, he also has baby teeth in "Tooth Fairy Ducks"
** Jenny Quackles is seen riding a rocking duck in "Pondgea's Got Talent" and has a baby tooth in "Tooth Fairy Ducks", however, she is old enough to be married in "Unlucky Duckies".
* VerbalTic: Buhdeuce's "Yep! Yep!", [[CatchPhrase among other things]]. [[DistaffCounterpart Roni]] says "Yeah! Yeah!" instead.
* WholesomeCrossdresser:
** Buhdeuce and [=SwaySway=] "level up" into girl disguises in order to sneak into an all-girls summer camp.
** In "Wrath of the Pizza Lord" they dress as the Pizzawinners to help them do their jobs.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Depending on the episode, [=SwaySway=] and Buhdeuce sometimes argue a lot, but they deeply care for each other.
* WorldOfHam: With all that shouting, how can it not?
* WorldOfPun: Expect to hear bread puns all the time while watching this show.
* WrenchWench: Ketta, the Breadwinners' mechanic, and GadgeteerGenius.
* YouMeanXmas: Crustmas.
* YourHeadAsplode: A RunningGag that usually happens to Buhdeuce, signifying his "mind being blown", complete with pixelated explosions. He always regains his head afterward.
* WouldntHurtAChild: Oonski is ruthless, steals from others, and beats them up. But in "A Crustmas Story" he refuses to kidnap six crying babies.
* ZombieApocalypse: "Night of the Living Bread", where a really, ''really'' tasty type of bread created by the Breadwinners somehow turns the entire population into bread-craving zombies.
