Vaguely Recalling Jojo is a series where vanilla.ice, a fan of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'', tries to [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin recall the events of the manga to the best of his ability]], but HilarityEnsues. Most of the videos are based on Stardust Crusaders, but Vento Aureo and Phantom Blood get their time in the spotlight. Unlike the ''WebVideo/JojosBizarreAdventureAbridged'' series by Antfish, Vanilla Ice doesn't use the OVA and the anime as footage, and draws everything himself. Some of the videos are subtitled on [[https://www.youtube.com/user/mitler25 mitler25's channel]], [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdp9SEPL8wWfX8jItyV9tBw moriohcho's channel]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHCsC-OD81FphDGuBA3udVA sesshylurve's channel]], and the unsubtitled episodes can be found on this [[http://www.nicovideo.jp/mylist/10456124 playlist]] (requires a Website/NicoNicoDouga account).
----
!!Examples:
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Under the magnetism curse, Joseph Joestar accidentally flips Enya Geil's skirt, causing her to fall in love with him.
* AbnormalLimbRotationRange: As part of a gag, Polnareff can rotate his head.
* TheAbridgedSeries: Vaguely Recalling Jojo is like an abridged version of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' on Niconico Douga, as most of the episodes are only a few minutes long.
* AccidentalMurder: Dio accidentally kicks Danny into the burner and earns the wrath of Jonathan and the ghost of Danny.
* AdaptationalAttractiveness:
** Nena is not a {{gonk}}y short woman, but a very cute girl.
** ZZ is not a scrawny guy with huge arms, but a guy with a HeroicBuild and a LanternJawOfJustice
** Enya gets transformed into a tall, beautiful woman after Polnareff massages her.
* AdaptationalHeroism: J. Geil genuinely cares for Enya and Dio is a good father for Giorno.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Rubber Soul is straight up AffablyEvil, rather than the narcissist devoid of redeeming features he was in canon, as the worst thing that can be said about him is that he's just annoying due to constantly talking to himself about how handsome he is, as aside from that, he's essentially a genuinely pleasant person, villainy aside, due to being portrayed as a laid-back and carefree man that consistently speaks in an amicable, relaxed tone towards Jotaro, showcasing none of the hostility and sense of superiority towards him that he had in the manga, and even takes plummeting into the ocean surprisingly well, cracking a joke that he'd be at an advantage if the water they were in was his stand.
* AdaptationalVillainy: [[VideoGame/GuiltyGear Bridget]] as Nena, [[Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis Atobe Keigo]] as Steely Dan, [[VideoGame/FZero Captain Falcon]] as ZZ and [[WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls Blossom]] as High Priestess.
* AdaptationalWimp: [[Manga/RurouniKenshin Makoto Shishio]] as Chaka, as he lost to the ButtMonkey Polnareff.
* AdaptationDecay: Invoked, as vanilla.ice can't remember all of the details.
* AffablyEvil: Rubber Soul. He's very well-behaved and relaxed and is never rude or mean to Jotaro in the slightest, a huge contrast to his canon portrayal. In fact, the only bad thing about him is that aside from being a villain, he still retains a bit of his narcissistic personality, although that's reduced to just him repeatedly talking to himself about how handsome he is, which Jotaro finds annoying.
* AffectionateParody: Of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''
* TheAlcoholic: Dio Brando during the Phantom Blood spoof, which is an exaggeration of Dio tasting alcohol and enjoying it during the scene where he tests the Stone Mask on a test subject.
* AndIMustScream: Rubber Soul and Steely Dan end up a part of Telence D'Arby's collection. [[AssholeVictim They deserve it]].
* AnimeHair: Polnareff's hair gets noted as very odd by many characters. It even grows to a ridiculous height during the Death 13 arc.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Kakyoin still doesn't believe that there's a world inside the mirror. Illuso still shows up in a EarlyBirdCameo to offer Kakyoin and Polnareff a handshake if they reach the ruins at Pompeii (though only one of them does get there).
* ArtisticLicenseGeography: During their travels, the Stardust Crusaders somehow manage to travel to Singapore and then travel to its capital. In reality, they traveled to Hong Kong, and then they traveled to Singapore. Also, city-states don't have capitals.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: During the Justice arc, Enya threatens to break Jotaro's spine, tear apart his flesh, and slash off all of his hair.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Magician Red's weakpoint got hit by Geb and Avdol gets severely damaged.
* AttractiveBentGender: Inverted; Rubber Soul disguises himself as an ugly, fat female who happens to share the same face as his normal form.
* BadBadActing: vanilla.ice seems to be reading off a script sometimes. Although it adds to the hilarity.
* BandageMummy: Chaka
* BeneathNotice: Polnareff, when working for DIO, disguised himself as a restaurant waiter to get closer to the Joestar group.
* BerserkerTears: Dio has a stream of tears coming out of his face when he's in a berserker rage over the fact that his life was incredibly sucky up to this point. Also, he somehow causes the tears to flow over the Stone Mask.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: When Dio kicks Danny, Jonathan mercilessly pummels Dio. Dio receives the same fate when he accidentally kicks Danny into the incinerator.
* BigBallOfViolence: Jotaro suspects that one of [[EarlyBirdCameo La Squadra di Esecuzione]] is the driver of the car Kakyoin knocked off the road earlier and tries beating them, which resulted with this happening between them and Jotaro's group. The ones not in the brawl are Kakyoin and the Runaway Girl.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: Caesar]] returns as a ghost and helps Joseph defeat Empress.
* BlackComedyAnimalCruelty: Forever gets pummeled senselessly by Star Platinum for the crime of being "suspicious".... despite simply just approaching Jotaro & Co.
* BodyHorror: Like the original manga, Empress is a Stand trying to devour Joseph's body. To make things worse, it is immune to Hamon because it is part of Joseph's body.
* BorrowedCatchphrase: Polnareff's OhCrap reaction face gets borrowed by Steely Dan and Telence D'Arby.
* BrickJoke: While driving away from Hol Horse and J. Geil, Kakyoin mispronounces the name of Polnareff's deceased sister (i.e. Sherry) as Cherry. Shortly after running into Judgement several episodes later, he encounters his sister's cannibalistic doppelgänger who is actually named Cherry.
* BrokenRecord: The only thing the fake Mohammed Avdol created by Judgement says is "Leave it up to me!" while punching Polnareff in the face.
* ButtMonkey:
** Polnareff. His RunningGag is that he gets punched in the face.
** Dio in the Phantom Blood spoofs. His reason for putting on the Stone Mask is because nobody would give him a break.
* CallBack:
** To defeat Nena's Empress Stand, Joseph and [[spoiler: Caesar]] use the plus-minus Ripple trick used on Esidisi!Suzie Q.
** DIO, J. Geil and Enya reenact the scene where [[spoiler: Caesar grieves over Mark after he got killed by Wamuu]].
** Enya and DIO reenact the Jotaro in jail scene from the first episode of Vaguely Recalling Jotaro's Adventure.
** When the Speedwagon Foundation workers showed up to rescue Kakyoin, they used Speedwagon's favorite catchphrases (e.g. "The Meddlesome Speedwagon" and "Coolly withdrawing Speedwagon") when arriving and leaving.
** Oingo (playing Smokey's part) and Joseph Joestar reenact the scene where Joseph uses the cola in a Ripple trick.
* CallForward: See this [[CallForward/VaguelyRecallingJoJo page]].
* CatGirl: Poco looks like [[Manga/HunterXHunter Neferpitou]], because Dio is a dick. Bast is a Hoodie CatGirl Stand resembling [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Taokaka]].
* CatchPhrase: Polnareff would call a person annoying if they do anything that irks him. One time, the others predicted that he would say that and were right.
* CloseCallHaircut: Kakyoin and Polnareff are on the receiving end from Death 13 a few times during the Death 13 arc.
* ClothingDamage: Nena undergoes this because Empress got attacked by Joseph.
* CoolMask: During certain scenes in episode 32, Joseph wore [[Manga/{{Kinnikuman}} Neptuneman]]'s mask. When he does a cool combination attack with Avdol, Avdol dons Big Budo's mask.
* CrackPairing: [[invoked]] vanilla.ice liked to ship [[VideoGame/YumeNikki Madotsuki with Seccom Masada]], as they are enjoying the Death 13 carnival together. Here's a [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seccom_x_madotsuki_1401.png picture]].
* CrashIntoHello[=/=]LoveAtFirstSight: Spoofed in episode 27 with Rohan Kishibe and [[VideoGame/Kirby64TheCrystalShards Adeline]]. During its prediction of said event, Thoth thought it was stupid.
* {{Crossover}}[=/=]TheCameo[=/=]ShoutOut: See this [[ShoutOut/VaguelyRecallingJoJo page]] for more info.
* CurbStompBattle: Most of the battles are cut in length. The fight with Forever ends as fast as it begun. Jotaro finds that Forever is suspicious and pummels him into oblivion.
* DancingTheme: Parodied the [[Anime/OvermanKingGainer King Gainer]] monkey dance in the second episode of the Wheel of Fortune mini-arc. Nena, Grey Fly, Hol Horse, Devo, Rubber Soul and ZZ were the dancers. Unfortunately, DIO ruined their fun and dragged Devo and Hol Horse off.
* DeusExitMachina: DIO and J. Geil had to take Enya to the hospital, so the Hanged Man and the World Stands can't take Steely Dan and the Lovers Stand out with ease.
* DidYouJustScamCthulhu: Telence T. D'Arby somehow got Double's soul off-screen, as her doll is seen in Telence's collection. Telence T. D'Arby wouldn't last five seconds against an EldritchAbomination, so he probably used his words to get her to play video games with him.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Forever gets pummeled senselessly by Star Platinum because he was being "suspicious" (walking up to the group while making grunting noises) in the eyes of Jotaro. Given that Forever wastes no time in appearing directly in front of the Joestar group and doesn't even try to attack them, it's possible that this version of [[AdaptationalHeroism Forever could've actually trying to help them]].
* DopeSlap: To name one example from the Judgment episode, Polnareff gets a Dope Punch when he mistakenly thinks Joseph was talking about Indian curry. [[note]]Its a Japanese play on words. Joseph says he words "India no kare" in his dialogue, and the way the word "Kare" is pronounced sounds similar to "curry."[[/note]]
* DoYouWantToHaggle: Joseph argues with Steely Dan over the price of kebabs during the Lovers episode.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Kakyoin, because [[IKnowMortalKombat he learned how to drive from F-Mega]].
* DungeonBypass: Tower of Gray crashes the jet onto the ocean liner where the heroes would have encountered Dark Blue Moon, killing its Stand User and skipping that chapter of the story. Instead, Jotaro's group washes ashore along with the runaway girl who was also supposed to be introduced in that chapter.
* EarlyBirdCameo:
** Vanilla Ice is seen playing card games with the D'Arby Brothers when Joseph is using Hermit Purple.
** A younger Giorno is seen in background events. He briefly gets close-up screen time with Alessi's introduction.
** Yoshikage Kira is the owner of the dog devoured by Yellow Temperance.
** Rohan Kishibe gives Boingo an autograph.
** Leone Abbachio and his partner show up before the fight with Black Polnareff. As a result, Leone Abbachio's partner accidentally causes Polnareff's possession by Anubis and dies as a result.
** Page looks like Pesci.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first episode of ''Vaguely Recalling [=JoJo=]'' wasn't based on Stardust Crusaders, but instead, it was based on ''Diamond is Unbreakable''. The art is much sloppier than the later episodes.
* EasilyForgiven: Faust helps out Joseph with Kakyoin's injuries, even though Empress framed Joseph for Faust's murder in a previous episode.
* EmbarrassingNickname: Jonathan calls Dio Debu [[note]]While a contraction for Dio Brando, it is also means tubby in Japanese[[/note]] as an attempt as a nickname for him. Dio finds it embarrassing and suggests that Jonathan should call him Chanel instead.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: J. Geil doesn't care about Joseph when he got infected with the Lovers Stand, but he cares about Enya Geil's welfare and takes her to the hospital with Dio after Steely Dan uses the Lovers Stand on her.
* EverybodyLaughsEnding: Episode 7 (the second half of the Yellow Temperance chapter) ends with the heroes laughing at a quip from Polnareff.
* ExplainingYourPowersToTheEnemy: In contrast to the original manga, Rubber Soul does this because he's a narcissist.
* ExpressiveMask: Death 13's clown mask.
* TheFaceless: J. Geil
* TheFaceOfTheSun: The Sun Stand.
* {{Fanboy}}: Kakyoin is a big fan of ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' and he's a huge enthusiast of portable games, as he cried when his DS and PSP were broken.
* FusionFic: Some characters from other works replace a few of the characters in the original {{canon}}.
* {{Flanderization}}: See SimpleYetAwesome for Jonathan. Will A. Zeppeli repeatedly uses the frog punch on his foes. At one point, he does the frog punch on Dio's zombies, and giant fists rain down upon them. The grenade deflection attack is one of Straizo's signature moves.
* GagCensor: Ebony Devil shows up to censor any scene too severe for the viewers.
* GagSeries
* GotMeDoingIt: Empress says "chumimin" so much, Joseph tells her to shut up and ends up saying "chumimin" too.
* GratuitousEnglish: Rubber Soul and the D'Arby brothers. In fact, Telence speaks like [[Manga/YuGiOh Pegasus J. Crawford]].
* GretzkyHasTheBall: The Star Platinum team in Telence's baseball game are dressed like soccer players. The lead Star Platinum even holds a soccer ball. Also, the lead Star Platinum plays twice. A player only plays once before they're struck out.
* GroinAttack: Ebony Devil attacks Polnareff's groin.
* GrossUpCloseUp: A gross picture of Cursed Devo is shown whenever he says, "Damn you, Polnareff!" The only time where that didn't happen is the time he fell off the Singapore hotel balcony.

* ImAHumanitarian: Cherry
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Faust receives this fate because Empress somehow managed to get a hold of his scalpel. He manages to survive and the scalpel is there when he rescues the injured Kakyoin.
* JackassGenie: Cameo/Judgement. He grants Polnareff's wealth wish, but buries him in the pile of gold bars. He treats the revive Sherry and Avdol wish as separate wishes, and he accidentally mishears Sherry as Cherry. When Cameo's stand user tries to get him to attack Polnareff and Avdol, Cameo refuses because Polnareff did not interfere with the wish-granting.
* {{Jerkass}}: Steely Dan. Dio and J. Geil cannot forgive him for hurting and lying to Enya Geil. He also treats his part-time worker like crap.
* KickTheDog: Rubber Soul devours Pokky, Yoshikage Kira's dog.
* KillerTeddyBear: Empress and Ebony Devil.
* LawOfDisproportionateResponse[=/=]MisplacedRetribution: To get a grudge against Polnareff, Cursed Devo proceeds to list off the ways Polnareff has "slighted" him.

* MadDoctor: [[VideoGame/GuiltyGear Faust]]. He gets impaled by his gigantic scalpel and Fanny tries to send him to a hospital.
* ManOfAThousandVoices[=/=]CrossdressingVoices: The fan poorly does all the voices for all of the characters and does all of the sounds, too.
* MistakenForMurderer: Upon seeing Faust impaled through the head with his own scalpel, Fanny thinks that Joseph murdered him, which gets Joseph in deep with the police. Turns out Empress did it.
* MoePersonification:
** Cursed Devo's Ebony Devil looks like a cute little boy with antennae and is wearing a teddy bear costume.
** Jotaro gets another Star Platinum, who is probably a cosplay for the Runaway Girl.
** Mariah's Bastet gets turned into a version of Taokaka with outlet paws.
* MorphicResonance: Oingo always keeps a shirt labelled Oingo no matter what form he takes.
* MuggingTheMonster: During the Oingo and Boingo mini-arc, Oingo kicks Broly in the face because something about Broly's face ticked him off. Unfortunately, this bites Oingo in the ass as Broly plans on killing Oingo and Boingo.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: Polnareff gives Enya a back massage in a Star Platinum-like manner. He even comes up with a repeated yell: "Momi Momi Momi Momi Momi!"
* MythologyGag:
** Before the recap of the 2nd part of the Rubber Soul mini-arc, Rudolf von Stroheim entered the Guile Look-a-Like and wins First Place, which is a reference to Guile being based on Stroheim
** Sort of. Jotaro mistaking [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Benimaru Nikaido]] for Polnareff is a reference to how Benimaru was explicitly based off of Polnareff (to the point that some of SNK's development team sometimes still call him Polnareff.)

* PowerPerversionPotential: One of the things Kakyoin does in the Dream World is to wish for the appearance of his favorite Anime heroine, but Death 13 shows up and denies Kakyoin's wish. When Hierophant Green is punishing Death 13, Kakyoin asks Death 13 to grant that wish.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: During his fight with Enya, Jotaro says that he'll beat her by the next breath she takes. Enya claims that he's wrong, but Star Platinum sucks up all of the oxygen in the area and causes her to pass out.
* PreviouslyOn: The narrator usually does this, but characters within the series sometimes narrate the events from the other parts. Sometimes they forget to recap or use this segment to stroke their ego.
* {{Pun}}:
** Kakyoin makes a few cherry puns.
** When Polanreff wishes for the revival of his sister, Judgment instead summons a girl named Cherry.
* RailingKill: Silver Chariot rapidly stabs Cursed Devo nearby a Singapore Hotel balcony. Cursed Devo goes on a rant on how he managed to curse Polnareff and falls off the railing before yelling, "Damn you, Polnareff!" DIO saw that and looked concerned for Cursed Devo's health. [[spoiler: Devo survives and has lunch with DIO and Franziska Von Karma, which gets ruined because of Cursed Devo's synchronization with Ebony Devil.]]

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Surprisingly, Dio is portrayed as this, as his main reason for becoming a vampire is that he was constantly treated like crap by everybody.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs:
** Magician's Combo, where Magician's Red does a suplex to hold the opponent in place and Avdol does a karate chop to the face.
** Rubber Soul does a coconut backbreaker to Hoshi, and then Kakyoin imitates that technique on Hol Horse.
