Smash Bros. Lawl is a parody of ''SuperSmashBros'', featuring many YoutubePoop and miscellaneous characters. It was created by [[http://www.youtube.com/user/chincherrinas?feature=watch chincherrinas]] on Youtube. The videos are usually a given character's moves and abilities, a "playthrough" of the ''Subspace Emissary'' story mode, or occasional miscellaneous videos about other features.

He is also the creator of ''WebAnimation/TheFrolloShow''.

Others have also made their own versions of Lawl with other characters, most notably [=YTPguy17=] and Nostalgia Skapokion.

----
!!Tropes featured in this work:

* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: The later parts of Madotsuki's dream world.
* AdvancingWallOfDoom: One made of ''fire'' pursues the player through part of Persian Forest. It does stop at a certain point, though.
* AllJustADream: The YumeNikki-inspired "???" level.
* AllMenArePerverts: All the male characters (and Snake) are attracted to Panty's pole dance.
-->'''J. Jonah Jameson:''' Hah! I like your style! Rest assured, she has transferred my repulsion gel into outer space!
* AllThereInTheManual: Extra information, such as characters stats, bios and matchups, among other things, can be found on the series' [[http://www.facebook.com/pages/Smash-Bros-Lawl/180451708676691 Facebook page.]]
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: The giant version of Irate Gamer made of Shadow Bugs.
* TheBadGuyWins: If you pick a villainous character and win Classic Mode, the wish they get from Chuck Norris and something bad will happen, if the video of Meen's run through Classic Mode is any indication.
* BigWhat: The Nostalgia Critic lets one out when he sees Tommy Wiseau for the first time.
* BilingualBonus: All characters from Mexican sources (Don Ramon, Jaime Maussan, Carlos Trejo and narrator Julio Cesar Palomera) retain Spanish without subtitles.
* BossInMookClothing: Dragon Breath, one of the badniks you face in Final Forest.
* ChekhovsSkill: Learn how to take advantage of Kyukyu-Kun in ???, because it's the key to defeating the boss at the end.
* ChuckNorris: He's the final boss of Classic Mode, apparently granting wishes to those who "defeat" him. He is also summoned as a part of Nostalgia Critic's Final Smash.
* CallBack / MythologyGag: The reason Tommy Wiseau attacks Nostalgia Critic is because of the Critic trashing [[Film/TheRoom his movie]] in a review.
** The reason Yoshi was sleeping in the real ''Subspace Emissary''? Mama Luigi told him a bedtime story.
* DetectivesFollowFootprints: The point of the Bicycle Tracks stage in ''Subspace Emissary'' is that Nostalgia Critic, Madotsuki, and Tommy Wiseau are following tracks left by the Irate Gamer, to track him down.
* {{Defictionalization}}: A fangame is in the works based on the series.
* DoomedHometown: The homes of Harkinian, AVGN, Tommy Wiseau, Madotsuki, and Leonidas are all destroyed in their introductory levels.
* DualBoss: On the Bicycle Tracks, Tommy is face to face with False Nostalgia Critic and [[spoiler: Madotsuki]].
** In Final Forest, The King and Leonidas must both fight [[spoiler: Frollo and Gaston]].
* EarlyBirdCameo: King Leonidas was revealed on the character menu before he first appeared for real. Gaston foreshadowed his appearance in Subspace Emissary before his proper introduction. Yomika was also first seen in Madotsuki's Classic Mode run, then her moveset was uploaded later on.
** Multiple times in a character's moveset video, a future character is shown, especially earlier on.
* EnemyMine: The King and IM Meen team up and eventually upgrade to VitriolicBestBuds. Later, Nostalgia Critic and Tommy Wiseau team up after fighting and stick together.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Madotsuki dreams about her eventual battle with [[spoiler: Big Red]].
* FramingDevice: Mama Luigi's moveset is just a bedtime story that he's telling to Yoshi.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: At the end of WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic's introductory video, his face is seen on the Irate Gamer's Smash Bros. poster.
* GoodAllAlong: It is implied that [[spoiler: Gaston (and by extension, Frollo)]] is this. He is seen using a Dark Cannon. But in his EarlyBirdCameo, it's dropped at his feet, meaning it wasn't his. [[spoiler: He and Frollo also have King Dedede's special pins on their trophy forms]]. He also [[spoiler: kept Coconuts from firing a Dark Cannon at Meen]].
* HarderThanHard: [[WebVideo/StuartAshen An Excellent Difficulty]], which goes beyond Intense difficulty.
* HeroicMime: [[ParodiedTrope Parodied]] in Madotsuki's Classic Mode.
* HypocriticalHumor: At the end of J. Jonah Jameson's moveset video, Hitler calls him a "whiny mustached man".
* IHatePastMe / FutureMeScaresMe: Luigi and Mama Luigi encounter each other and both run off in opposite directions, screaming.
* {{Irony}}: Guile's Final Smash, "Anti Terrorism" is essentially a suicidal bomb attack.
* LostWoods: The first half of Madotsuki's dream level.
** The TropeNamer itself appears, in all of its maze-y goodness.
* LoveInterests: Madosuki hints this at times [[spoiler: with her Pokéshipping-esque relationship with Tommy Wiseau]] during Subspace Emissary.
* MemeticMolester: InUniverse, The King accuses IM Meen of being a pedophile.
* MultiMookMelee
* NoodleIncident / RunningGag: Almost every time a battle starts and then gets cut to the very end, the "player" has 999% damage. Apparently there is always a ThatOneBoss or DemonicSpider lurking between the transitions.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: Tommy Wiseau starts fighting the evil clone of the Nostalgia Critic, but Madotsuki mistakes him for the real one, so she thinks Tommy's betrayed them.
* OhCrap: Nostalgia Critic has a non-verbal one when he realizes the fight with False Irate Gamer ''may'' not be as much of a cakewalk as first thought.
* PuzzleBoss: [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaCDiGames Glutko]] of the first level is vulnerable after you feed it rocks.
** Then there's [[YumeNikki Big Red]]. The player must get him to [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything put his mouth]] around [[FreudWasRight Kyukyu-Kun]] to make him vulnerable.
* RageBreakingPoint: Nicolas Cage's final smash.
* RashomonStyle: To the original ''Subspace Emissary'', this time showing the point of view of the characters who were "left out". The presence of the Halberd in Hyrule is the first sign, but it becomes even more apparent starting in Sparta, where characters are shown being a secret part of what is already known of the story.
* RecurringRiff: A lot of the stage music for each stage is just remixes of the same song.
* TheAnnouncer: Keeping with the Super Smash Bros. tradition of course, it uses this trope. Originally, sentence mixing with Pat Cashman's voice was done, but after the post-stage overhaul, he was supposivelt KilledOffForReal and replaced with unlockable announcers. The first being Morgan Freeman.
* TheRival: Many characters present act as this for one another. A character's specific rival is typically the penultimate battle in a Classic Mode run.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Harkinian and Leonidas. They even have a few levels together.
* SelfDeprecation: Part of the codec call Snake has about Frollo references how TheFrolloShow (another thing made by Chincherrinas) isn't that known.
* SitcomArchNemesis: Carlos Trejo absolutely despises Jaime Maussan, but the latter seems rather indifferent to this.
* SlowNo: When Nostalgia Critic tries to save Madotsuki from the Subspace Bomb.
* SmallReferencePools: Hardly anyone knows who Yomika is, in or out of the universe.
* SpinOff: Many other Youtubers have made their own movesets in the style of these movesets. A user called [[http://www.youtube.com/user/YTPguy17 YTPGuy17]] has made his own movesets, except using {{Scratch}}.
* ShoutOut: Plenty.
** From Hyrule,
--> '''I.M. Meen:''' [[HotelMario You bring a light]]
--> '''The King:''' [[MemeticMutation No]].
** Classic mode takes an appearance of the Arcade mode of the ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' games.
*** Also on Classic Mode, the game gives the player an option to skip the bonus stage. The "Yes" option is Bison's memetic face, while the "No" option is the [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 Engineer's Nope.avi]].
** The difficulty settings are shoutouts to internet culture in general. The most notable is the highest difficulty, which is the [[WebVideo/StuartAshen "Excellent"]] difficulty.
** There's a reference to chincherrinas' [[WebAnimation/TheFrolloShow other major series]], with a stage based off of [[spoiler: Wilford's dimension]].
* StopHelpingMe: In-universe. Not even I.M. Meen can put up with [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Kaepora Gaebora]], and it's possible to attack him and interrupt his speech.
* SummonMagic: Many attacks involve briefly summoning another character from the fighter's original work.
* SupervillainLair: Meen's Lair, Robotnik's Lair, Bison's Base, and Wily Castle, so far.
* TakeThat: The Irate Gamer only exists in the game to be a bad character, as a Take That.
* TimedMission: The first part of Persian Forest requires you to kill 20 Persian Warriors before 50 seconds.
* UnexpectedCharacter: A lot the character choices seem to come out of left field, though some are due to AuthorAppeal.
* UnexpectedGameplayChange: Sometimes throughout the story, instead of standard Smash battles or boss fights, the game shifts to Stamina mode.
* UniqueEnemy: So far, the ??? stage is the only place that Masada Wiseau appears. It's simply a version of Tommy Wiseau colored to resemble [[YumeNikki Seccom Masada Sensei]], but it's unique in that he has a different name in the damage meter.
* VillainTeamUp: [[AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog Dr. Robotnik]] and [[ThreeHundred Xerxes]] team up in Subspace Emissary. The player must fight a mixed crowd of their {{mook}}s on a few occasions.
** Later on, Hitler releases Mary from her painting so that she can team up with him. Said teamup is rather comedic.
* VitriolicBestBuds: The King and IM Meen become this over time. It is implied that Nostalgia Critic and AVGN are this, as well.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: InUniverse, these are characters who were "left out" of Smash Bros. Brawl.
* TheWikiRule: Most of the {{Spin Off}}s have this. A wiki of most of the spin-offs and the main series can be found [[http://new-smash-bros-lawl-origin.wikia.com/wiki/New_Smash_Bros_Lawl_Origin_Wiki here]].
* WoobieOfMassDestruction: [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid Mei-Ling]] sees WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic as this.
** Yomika
* YoutubePoop / MemeticMutation: The source of many of the characters.
