[[WMG: The funeral at the beginning of ''Get Smart Again!'' was for the Chief (at least symbolically).]]
Doesn't explain why 99 wasn't there, but maybe for security reasons only one of them could be?

[[WMG: Max was a much more competent agent/saner person when he began working for CONTROL.]]
His experiences as an agent got to him and caused permanent psychological damage. He and 99 are both repeatedly shown to have symptoms of PTSD (that are always PlayedForLaughs), what with Max jumping and screaming "Don't ever do that!" whenever someone sneaks up behind him and 99 reflexively punching Max whenever he tries to sneak up behind her to kiss her.

[[WMG: Siegfried is an age-progressed Hitler.]]
And Starker is possibly an age-progressed combination of Herrmann Goering and Joseph Goebbels.

[[WMG: CONTROL is actually [[AncientConspiracy older than they seem]]]]
In one throwaway gag, one of the undelivered CONTROL messages reads "The British are coming". So they've been around at least as long as the Revolutionary War.

[[WMG: 99 had an affair before she and Max got married, then cheated on Max during their honeymoon.]]
In the 1995 revival series ''Get Smart'' Zack Smart is played by [[http://www.sitcomsonline.com/photopost/data/1599/newgetsmart.jpg Andy Dick.]] In the 1989 Made for TV Movie ''Get Smart Again!'' supporting character Beamish is played by [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130512062406/marveldatabase/images/e/ee/Donald_Blake_Return_of_the_Incredible_Hulk.jpg Steven Levitt.]] Look at those two - they could be twins!
%% The best pic of Levitt found is from ''The Incredible Hulk Returns not ''Get Smart Again'' but it's the same guy.

[[WMG: Series/BabylonFive is the DistantFinale of Series/GetSmart]]
The Vorlons represent CONTROL, the Shadows represent KAOS. They've both been active since the mid-20th century on Earth, manipulating the Cold War to their own ends. The whole charade is ended when the younger races realize just how ridiculous the conflict was and how one side really is no different from the other.

[[WMG: Max is bisexual.]]
In one episode, Max asks 99 out, and another CONTROL agent [[DisguisedInDrag disguised as a woman]] who is actually a man (and Max knows who he is) thinks he's talking to him and accepts. Max says that he was talking to 99, then adds that he wouldn't mind if the other agent tagged along.

[[WMG: Explanations for Max's supposed immunity to the suicide pills.]]
In one episode, Max points out that he saves money on suicide pills because he's "only taken seven", and yet he's obviously still alive. This could be because:

* Being a spy, Max has done the trick of deliberately taking poison in small amounts to build up an immunity. The suicide pills he took were laced with a poison he was immune to.
* Max thought he took seven suicide pills, but they were really something innocuous like aspirin or candy.
* The pills were defective somehow.
* He was lying to impress the other agent.
* He's ''lost'' six or seven pills (depending on whether he has one with him at the time) and had to get a replacement each time.
