[[WMG:The entire show is Fred's imagination.]]
Well, it makes just as much sense as anything else in this show.
* You might be right. Fred did create the entire setting of the show with his own imagination, so...

[[WMG:The entire show is [[VideoGame/KidIcarus an Eggplant Wizard's]] equivalent to WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants.]]
It'd make just as much sense as anything else, wouldn't it?
* Remember that eggplants are often thought of as vegetables, and the characters of the show are fruit. We'll have to think about that one a bit...

[[WMG:Fred was high during the events of A Cold Day On Fruit Salad Island.]]
Just watch the episode and tell me, Fred isn't on drugs or something.

[[WMG:Fred is a god]]
The reason why he can warp reality and create things with his imagination, and the fact that he created Fruit Salad Island out of thin air in the opening theme.
** To expand on this, the exact purpose of the island can be as entertainment to Fred. Several times in the show, he’s shown to be motivated not by doing good things for others, but [[ItAmusedMe for his own amusement and fun.]] On the other hand, whenever Fred ''does'' try to “help” someone, it tends to backfire horribly on that person in some way, usually because either Fred isn’t [[AffablyEvil really listening to their concerns]] or [[JerkassGenie takes their requests the wrong way.]] Fred also has little consistency on what exactly he creates, and its all in the context of what he's doing at a given moment or how bored he is; [[BreadEggsMilkSquick there's no telling on any given day if he will create a giant walking blender that eats fruit or another harmless but stupid activity such as Silly Hats Day.]] It's literally "It's A Good Life" from ''Series/TheTwilightZone1959'' meets ''WesternAnimation/SpongebobSquarepants''.
** Greenrind, Bingo and Wedgie [[ButtMonkey tend to receive the worst luck on the island,]] with Fred often singling them out, likely because of their vocal distaste for his actions. Bingo is arguably the most egregious case, [[DisproportionateRetribution since he merely works for Greenrind to maintain and rarely incites Fred on his own, but is treated just as aggressively as the other two.]] Greenrind, while not very friendly, mainly aims to prevent the island’s rules to be broken, yet suffers horribly by Fred as a result. Wedgie’s constant attempts to leave are arguably [[FridgeHorror more horrific]], with this perspective, as it means [[AndIMustScream he’s literally trapped on the island to suffer at the whim of a]] MadGod for however long Fred wants.
** For contrast, [[TheDitz Slip and Slide]] tend to not suffer very much, but they also tend to be on Fred’s side since they both seem to view him as a friend and are too stupid to realize they shouldn’t. In other words, no matter how bad their actions are, [[KarmaHoudini they won’t be held accountable]] [[ProtagonistCenteredMorality because they are Fred’s friends.]]
*** This is extra horrific if you consider that Fred not only made the island, but the people on it, too. This means that he ‘’could’’ have theoretically made the rest of the fruits a bunch of agreeable idiots like Slip and Slide, but instead chose to give them personalities that would guarantee their emotional suffering. [[IronicHell Bingo didn’t need to have the capacity to fear Fred but still have to spend every day near him, Greenrind didn’t need to be super strict about rules only to suffer the pain of others breaking them, and, most importantly, Wedgie didn’t need to be given the desire to leave only to be dragged back to the island every time.]]
** Fred's constant happy-go-lucky personality and general inability to listen to the reasoning of others is because, as a PhysicalGod, [[BlueAndOrangeMorality he is incapable of understanding why they are afraid of suffering or death.]] [[ObliviouslyEvil Fred doesn't seem inherently malicious or bloodthirsty, but he seems so obsessed with fun and joy that he doesn't acknowledge when others are harmed as a side affect.]] There is one moment where his companions are all screaming in fear when getting stuck in a water vortex and, rather than showing fear, [[ComicallyMissingThePoint Fred is merely ''mock-screaming'' along because he thinks they are playing the "Panic Game."]] Fred is also incapable of taking "no" for an answer, as if he is completely unable to understand why anyone doesn't want to join in his antics.
--> '''Fred:''' (''When asked what he'd do if someone told him no'') Then I'd just keep asking again, and again, and again-
** Confirmed, oddly enough. A [=QnA=] with director Matt Danner [[https://twitter.com/coreriff/status/1552803855976595456?s=21 revealed]] that the crew planned a story arc where Fred found out he was the god of his own reality. In that way, Coconut Fred is basically Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya.
