[[caption-width-right:320:More cherry blossoms.]]

On the island of Hatsune, where the spring scenery lasts all year round, stands a large cherry tree that never withers. The mysterious cherry tree, rumored to grant any wish, is the symbol of Hatsune Island. However, one day, it suddenly turns into an ordinary tree... The scent of spring enhances this slightly bittersweet tale of Sakura and the Kazami Academy Newspaper Club, as on that same day, every single member on that club receives a text message on their cell phones asking them to do something at the tree when it starts blooming. While the "something" was undecipherable, what was more interesting was that the text was dated ''1951''.

The sequel to ''VisualNovel/DaCapoII'', it takes place approximately 20 years after the events from that show.

Released in January 2013, it is currently streaming on [[http://www.crunchyroll.com/da-capo-iii Crunchyroll]]. Viewers living in the US, Canada, Central/South America, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden may watch it legally.

A Stage Play Adaptation was announced in 2021, running from November 17 to November 21 of that year in Tokyo's Nissho Hall.

!!''Da Capo III'' provides examples of:

* AboveTheInfluence: Kiyotaka's been given many opportunities to do things with the various female characters, but despite that he's never done anything naughty with them, which irks some of the girls.
* AccidentalPervert: Kiyotaka is often in unfortunate incidents with one of the girls. Although its never what it looks like, the other girls always initially assume he's lying.
* ACupAngst: Both Himeno and Sara are quite jealous of the other girl's large breasts in episode 8.
* [[spoiler:AlternateUniverse: Mixed with AllJustADream. The events in Kazamidori Academy as told by Sakura and [[OrWasItADream by Ricca through her dreams]] can be considered this. It's not on [[{{RetCon}} official history]] though[[note]]Not to mention the Common Populace doesn't believe in Magic anyway[[/note]] because of shenanigans required for [[SeriesMascot Sakura Yoshino]] to even get to that point.[[labelnote: spoilers]]forbidden magic that transcends time to create a time loop[[/labelnote]] This setting, Kazamidori Academy, set in 1951, is a secret magic school in London, and they all have different names. Kiyotaka is named Katsuragi Kiyotaka, meaning that he is Himeno's blood sibling. Ricca is now named Ricca Greenwood. Sara is Sara Chrysalis, and Charles is now named Charles Maroth. Himeno and Aoi's names remain the same.]]
** [[spoiler:The Hatsunejima setting during Himeno's Route is actually a dream of all the characters who are actually "reincarnated" on the island. With how Kiyotaka lapsed into that dream, it was as if he was accurately predicting the future 100 years from now ... with one particular exception though.[[note]]Himeno [[ForgottenFallenFriend died]] when they were kids.[[/note]]]]
* AmbiguouslyGay: Suginami shows hints of this. Ever since his appearance in Da Capo II he has shown deep fascination for the main characters of each entry, Kiyotaka being the latest. It doesn't help that he has never shown any interest in girls at all.
* BalancedHarem: None of the girls have a significant lead over the others with Kiyotaka.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: Rikka in the ending for episode 6.
* BeachEpisode: Well, they go to an indoor pool in episode 8, but otherwise this trope is played straight.
* CharacterFocus: Each girl gets at least one episode that focuses largely on them.
* CherryBlossoms: Like in the first two shows, this plays an important role in the story.
* CatGirl: Sara dresses up like one briefly in episode 8 during the swimsuit competition.
* ClingyJealousGirl:
** Charles seems a bit upset when Kiyotaka compliments Himeno's home cooked food in episode 2.
** Rikka expresses her discontent with how much time Kiyotaka spends with the other girls in episode 6, even as he tries to explain why, such as seeing Himeno so much because they live next to each other. She also seems upset that he was talking to Suginami alone.
** All of the other girls seem quite a bit too interested in what Kiyotaka was doing in episode 7 with Aoi when she was sick. When the latter says they shared a bed, she just makes it much worse for him. And in episode 8, they all coincidentally end up at the pool, wondering why he took Sakura but none of them.
** Aoi seems visibly upset when she realizes that Mikoto was waiting for Kiyotaka at the coffee house she was working at in episode 9.
* CreditsRunningSequence: A naked Rikka does this briefly in episode 6's ending.
* DancingTheme: The girls do a brief one in the opening.
* DatePeepers: Several characters follow Kiyotaka and Mikoto around in episode 9 during their NotADate date.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Mikoto gets one in episode 9, after largely having been relegated to minor scenes earlier in the show.
* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: Sara's eyes does this in the beginning of episode 5 when she remembers having to take trains and how crowded they were prior to moving to the island.
* ExpressiveHair: Himeno's hair jumps slightly in episode 2 after Kiyotaka grabs her when she brings food over.
* {{Fanservice}}: All over the place.
* FriendlyEnemy: While not exactly hostile to Kiyotaka, Suginami in episode 6 tries to discuss their progress on the cherry trees. He later tells Kiyotaka to contact him if he needs help on the case after Rikka shows up.
* GenderBlenderName: Charles.
* TheGlomp: Charles does this to Kiyotaka in the hallway in episode 5. A lot of the male students, along with [[ClingyJealousGirl Sara]], who's right next to him, aren't too [[GreenEyedMonster enthused about that.]]
* GreenEyedMonster: The male students in Kiyotaka's class, who aren't too enthused by all the pretty girls surrounding him.
* HeadPet: Sakura likes to put Utamaru the cat on her head.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Mikoto in episode 9 tries to curse Kiyotaka with diarrhea. She ends up getting it instead.
* IdenticalGrandson: This show takes place about 20 years or so after the events of ''VisualNovel/DaCapoII''. Like in that show, there is a Suginami who looks and sounds exactly like the original one in the [[VisualNovel/DaCapo first series.]]
* ImagineSpot: After Kiyotaka tries to clear up some misunderstandings regarding his relationship with Charles to Sara, he mentions things she did in previous episodes. Sara immediately assumes they're having a much more serious and intimate relationship, and runs off.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Himeno, though she consciously represses her own sexual feelings.
* KissingCousins: Charles and Kiyotaka are cousins, and she seems intent on doing this with him, whether he likes it or not.
* LethalChef: Charles. Kiyotaka steadfastly refuses to let her make any food. When she pouts that he always eats her food, he then follows up by saying he's too sick to move the next day after he eats her cooking.
* LookBehindYou: In episode 9, after Kiyotaka is trapped by one of the student council members, he points out that there's a cute kitten behind them. The girl chasing him turns around and tries to find the cute kitten, but doesn't see one. Utamaru, the cat he was pointing at, cries a little at being ignored.
* LoveConfession: Rikka gives one to Kiyotaka in episode 6.
* LoveEpiphany: While she'll vehemently deny it, Mikoto seems to have taken quite an interest in Kiyotaka in episode 9 after he invites her out to have fun outside her house.
* MaleGaze: Used quite often in the anime. In episode 8, each girl gets to put on quite a bit of FanService.
* MarshmallowHell: Charles subjects Kiyotaka to this in episode 5.
* MistakenForGay: When Suginami challenges the Newspaper club to a contest in the first episode, he says that if his group wins, Kiyotaka has to become his personal partner. The way he says it gives off an [[HoYay unfriendly tone]] to the girls, and Kiyotaka. Mikoto also brings this up again in episode 3 when she first meets Kiyotaka.
* MrExposition: Kiyotaka's friend Kousuke fills this role at the beginning of episode 2 when he briefly summarizes each girl in the Newspaper club. He's also [[GreenEyedMonster quite jealous]] of how all of them seem interested in Yoshino.
* MsFanservice: Charles, who goes into the bathroom while Kiyotaka is taking a bath, and has no problems being naked next to him.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: The air hockey game Mikoto is plays in episode 9.
* MysteriousWaif: Sakura, who [[StealthHiBye comes and goes]] without much warning. Kiyotaka suspects she's connected to the cherry blossoms blooming again.
* NakedApron: Aoi wears one in episode 7, and is frustrated that he's more interested in cooking than looking at her.
* NiceGuy: One of Kiyotaka's defining personalities, which causes the girls to fall in love with him. Unfortunately, he's nice to them all [[ObliviousToLove without any ulterior motives,]] much to their chagrin.
* NoRomanticResolution: In the anime anyway. During episode 13, the girls demand Kiyotaka pick one of them. He says that he'd rather just have things stay the way they are now. While they're a little disappointed at his answer, they also all seemed a little relieved that none of them have a significant lead over the other.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Mikoto grabs Kiyotaka's head in episode 3 when he's ignoring her, and brings it rather close to his face.
* NotADate: What Mikoto insists her hanging out with Kiyotaka in episode 9 is.
* NotListeningToMeAreYou: Mikoto suffers from this, and a lot of characters tend to ignore her when she's talking to them.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: When Himeno opens the locked gym equipment room, she hears Sara screaming for help. She then bolts out the building as soon as its opened, and Kiyotaka walks out, relieved that someone let them out. However, Himeno immediately assumes he must have tried to take advantage of her, and has a scary look on her face.
* ObliviousToLove: Kiyotaka, who seems to misinterpret everything the girls say or do for him.
* OhCrap: Kousuke has that look when Kiyotaka spots his sister behind them in episode 9.
* PottyEmergency:
** Sara has one in episode 5, while locked in the gym equipment room with Kiyotaka. While Himeno opens the door for them, she assumes Sara's cries were as a result of Kiyotaka trying to take advantage of her.
** Kiyotaka has one in the beginning of episode 9. He opens the door to the bathroom only to find Charles using it. This causes her to freak out. Later, Kiyotaka unsuccessfully tries to apologize for it.
** In the same episode, Mikoto suffers from a couple after [[HoistByHisOwnPetard accidentally cursing herself]] with diarrhea.
%%* ProlongedPrologue
* ThePromise: Kiyotaka promises to make dinner for Charles the next day in episode 2, which makes her very happy to the point of going into CloudCuckooLander mode in the student council meeting. However the next day Aoi loses her house key, and he spends the next several hours helping her look for it. When he gets home, Charles is quietly gnawing on a piece of bread and is visibly upset with him for staying out so long and not even calling her. She "punishes" him by taking a bath with him.
* RedStringOfFate: Rikka specifically mentions this to Kiyotaka in episode 6.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Charles likes to sneak into Kiyotaka's bed, and in episode 2, goes into the bath while he's washing himself up, and forces him to stay in there with her, going so far as to physically grab him to keep him from escaping.
** Rikka has shades of this as well, and in episode 8 even tells Kiyotaka that a woman grows bolder in a swimsuit, while crawling on top of him after getting out of the pool.
* SkinshipGrope:
** Charles does this to Kiytaka in episode 2 as "punishment" for him arriving home late and not making her dinner as he promised. When he tries to get up from the bath, she grabs him to keep him from leaving.
** Aoi does this to Charles and then Rikka near the end of episode 8.
* SickEpisode: Aoi gets sick in episode 7, and Kiyotaka spends the episode taking care of her.
* StableTimeLoop: Overlaps with TimeyWimeyBall. [[spoiler: Ricca and Kiyotaka are Sakura's grandparents. The Everlasting Sakura Tree from the original ''VisualNovel/DaCapo'' is actually the branch that Sakura was holding in the epilogue of the Da Capo route of ''VisualNovel/DaCapoII'' when she met Ricca, who developed and ironed out the problems with Sakura's version of the tree.]]
* StealthHiBye: A couple of characters do this, such as Sakura, Suginami, and Mikoto.
* SupremeChef: Himeno's cooking is rather good, something Charles [[ClingyJealousGirl isn't too happy]] about.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: Mikoto in episode 8 claims she wasn't at the pool to spy on Kiyotaka and the newspaper club at all.
* TakeAThirdOption: In episode 8, Aoi tells the other girls they should make Kiyotaka choose which one of them looks the best in a swimsuit. They surround and grope him, and when Sakura shows up, he makes a break for it and runs off with her instead. They aren't [[ClingyJealousGirl too pleased with that.]]
* TakeOffYourClothes: During episode 2 while in the school hallway, Charles tells Kiyotaka to "take it off." a couple of times, each time getting progressively louder. Every guy within earshot seems to get a [[GreenEyedMonster bit jealous]] at the attention as well as the command she's telling him. [[spoiler: Then it turns out she wanted him to take his jacket off because it had a loose button on it which she sews back on for him in the next scene.]]
* TalkingInYourSleep: Himeno does this in Episode 8 of the visual novel and Episode 4 of the anime series, when she was very obviously having a sexy dream about Kiyotaka.
* ThatCameOutWrong: In episode 6, Kiyotaka tries to mention that he's been seeing this girl since the cherry blossoms returned. The girls at first assume he's secretly dating someone, then he mentions its a young girl. They then all immediately assume he's a paedophile, despite his attempts to clear up the misunderstanding.
* {{Tsundere}}: Mikoto acts this way towards Kiyotaka when they meet in the library in the library.
* UnknownRival: Mikoto considers Kiyotaka a rival for Suginami's love, but he doesn't really care about it.
* VerySpecialEpisode: In the Visual Novel, it's not obvious at first, [[spoiler: that is, until you unlock[[note]]in Da Capo III R[[/note]] [[{{NonindicativeName}} Ultimate Battle in the Cherry Blossom Breeze]], set in [[{{RedSkiesCrossover}} Da Capo II setting with the same characters]], and realize these stories weren't part of Sakura's story at all!]]
* WardrobeMalfunction: Happens three times in episode 8.
** The first time with Charles due to wearing an old swimsuit which was barely big enough for her.
** The second time is when Mikoto and Kiyotaka accidentally go down the water slide together, and he accidentally pulls off her top.
** The third time was during the swimsuit competition when Rikka accidentally unlatches her swimsuit top in front of a big audience, although Sakura arrives to safely cover her up before they get a good look.
