''Zone Raiders'' is a hovercar racing [=/=]VehicularCombat game, released in 1995 for DOS [[Platform/IBMPersonalComputer PCs]] and Platform/AppleMacintosh. The protagonist is a freelance Raider who ventures into the dangerous Free Zone, where rare and expensive items can be scavenged. Getting those items, however, won't be easy: other raiders are headed towards the Zone with the same intention, and the hero must race them, using all means to get there first. The futuristic cars resemble those that were used in the 20th century, with an important difference: they are equipped with hover plates and heavy weaponry. The protagonist should search for new weapons, shield regenerators, jet packs, and jet packs, as he races and sabotages opponent cars.

The game is set in a full 3D environment, which was a rarity at the time, and features sixteen different tracks, five selectable hovercars (one of them hidden), and eight usable weapons. Multiplayer can be accessed through IPX Network, two-player modem, or serial support, and can accommodate up to eight players.

!!This game contains examples of:
* CoresAndTurretsBoss: The FinalBoss, [[spoiler:Zone Master]] is an example, being completely defenceless once its turrets are gone.
* DeflectorShields: Your vehicle is equipped with one.
* EnergyWeapon: Your vehicle's laser fires two lines of discrete energy projectiles, as opposed to acting like a solid beam.
* GangOfHats: The protagonist spends the first level getting initiated into a gang.
* GrenadeLauncher: One of the weapons, which lobs large green grenades in an arc, which then split into several smaller grenades if they hit a wall.
* LoadBearingBoss: [[spoiler: Destroying [=ECO=] Zone Master causes the entire place to collapse.]]
* ProperlyParanoid: After the first level, the protagonist gets the feeling that the gang is just using him. [[spoiler: Subverted, the gang is actually a group of freedom fighters battling against a dictatorship called ECO]].
* RecursiveAmmo: Grenades from the Grenade Launcher split into smaller grenades if they collide with an obstacle instead of an enemy the first time.
* ScoringPoints: You have a counter of your total score, and a given level's current score and best score.
* TimedMission: The first mission gives you 10 minutes to beat it. The other missions will keep tally of your time, but only for scoring purposes to encourage you to actually race through the game.
* ZeroEffortBoss: Once you destroy the turrets protecting the [[spoiler:Zone Master]], which can be done with relative ease by staying near an obstacle at all times, it is left completely defenceless and you can blast it with anything you like with no interruption.
