''Urban Champion'' is an NES fighting game released in 1984 in Japan and 1986 elsewhere. The concept of the game is to beat the opponent in a street brawl three times before knocking him into a sewer manhole. It was later re-released on the e-Reader and the Wii Virtual Console.

A 3D remake for the game was available for the Nintendo 3DS prior to the closure of the eshop. There were some improvements, such as a 3D camera option, as well as listing the player's current rank and a save option.

!!This video game provides examples of:

* CombatPragmatist: You can lure players to underneath a flower pot dropped by an irate neighbor above, or you can hit any of them in the groin.
* ConfettiDrop: Whoever wins by knocking the opponent (or the player, should the opponent be the winner) will have a woman dropping confetti on the winner, while the winner also poses.
* EndlessGame: You just keep advancing through the street, punching bullies into manholes, until you finally succumb, yourself.
* ExcusePlot: The closest thing to a plot that's currently been given was ''Magazine/NintendoPower'''s coverage on the e-Reader NES series and the ticket review for the Virtual Console version on the main Web site, where it states that the player has to fend off an urban bully.
* FlowerPotDrop: Some neighbors are less than friendly, often trying to drop flower pots on the fighters. Be careful that you don't get hit by it on the head. However, you can lure an opponent into getting hit by one and score a free punch.
* GroinAttack: If the player gives a low punch and it connects without a block from the opponent, it will result in the opponent wincing as he is knocked back.
* NoNameGiven: None of the characters are named, although the two brawlers are called [[CanonName Mike and Mark]] outside of the game proper.
* NotSoInnocentWhistle: The fighters will go to the corner and start whistling when the cops pass by (if the timer hadn't ran out of time, that is, otherwise, whoever is closest to losing will be booked by the police).
* PoliceAreUseless: Thanks to the timer, often the police will pass by a fight when the players are acting suspicious, and intervene only when time runs out (and even then, they don't arrest both characters)
* RailingKill: The only way to win is by punching the opponent into a sewer manhole. It's also the only way for you to lose.
* RankInflation: In the 3DS remake, the player can increase in rank, with it being saved so the player can continue to improve. It starts at "Lonely Champion," but increases as the game progresses to "Street Champion," "Block Champion," "Downtown Champion," "Village Champion," "Town Champion," "Area Champion," "Country Champion," and [[TitleDrop "Urban Champion."]]
* TitleDrop: In the 3DS version, the highest-tier rank that can be achieved is "Urban Champion".
* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: Your attack options are really limited, just being a quick-but-light punch or a slow-but-strong punch, both being aimed at either the face or the stomach.
* WorldOfTechnicolorHair: All five characters in the game have either blue or green hair.
