''Super Mario Fusion: Revival'' is a sister fangame project to ''VideoGame/MushroomKingdomFusion'' based on Hello Engine 4. This game has a stronger focus on the Mario-series style of gameplay.

The reason it has "Revival" appended to the name is because it is a revival of the idea that founder [=JudgeSpear=] once had for ''VideoGame/MushroomKingdomFusion'' way back when it was known as ''Super Mario Fusion: Mushroom Kingdom Hearts''. At one point in MKF's development, contact between [=JudgeSpear=] and other developers was strained, allowing it to mutate into a MegaCrossover taken up to eleven. Rather than force the game to be put back on track, [=JudgeSpear=] took his simple old idea of Mario visiting other dimensions and started work on a new game with it.

''SMF'' has some crossover levels based on other game franchises, however unlike ''MKF'' it'll be kept at a minimum. The focus is Mario and company traveling to different worlds, not crossover content.

The project was officially declared dead on Jan. 2020 due to the development team moving on to commercial endeavors.

!!This game provides examples of the following tropes:
* AbandonedArea:
** World 2-S9 (Derelict Derrick): Taking place in the Indian Ocean, the player traverses a series of abandoned oil rigs. [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3 Boss Bass]] is found here, complete with his ability to [[SwallowedWhole swallow any player]] [[OneHitKill whole.]]
** World 3-6 (Ghost Highway): Part of a city got lost in the Ocean of Oblivion. You travel down a highway haunted by deceased commuters who believe they are still on the rush hour back home.
** World 4-F1: Dead Air. An abandoned, decrepit airport that has been sucked into the realm of Di Yu, the Chinese hell. Wandering souls and zombies are rampant here. A [[VideoGame/Left4Dead crying girl is found somewhere in the airport...or is it a girl?]]
* ActionGirl: Princess Peach.
* AdaptationalBadass: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51Aenb9Xlak Ograoum Papas]]. He is an ugly giant ogre and a memorable boss in the otherwise forgettable 16-bit platformer game ''VideoGame/MrNutz''. His signature attack is [[EyeScream shooting his bouncing, constantly regenerating eyeballs at the player.]] The ''Super Mario Fusion Revival'' version upgrades him to shooting out ''[[MadeOfExplodium exploding]]'' eyeballs with the accuracy of an artilleryman, with roars and voices from ''VideoGame/SmashTV'', turning him into a BraggartBoss who makes a thunderous entrance into his battle arena before the fight proper. His unveiling in ''Super Mario Fusion Revival'' was so well-received that Ograoum Papas has reached MemeticBadass status among the fans, and he was later transplanted into ''VideoGame/MushroomKingdomFusion''.
* AfterlifeExpress: World 5-3 (Doom Train): based upon the Phantom Train area in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI''.
* AlienInvasion: The [[VideoGame/MetalSlug Mars People]] in World 2 and [[Franchise/{{Halo}} the Covenant]] in World 6.
* AprilFoolsDay: In 2013, the development team posted [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1-FfXmEVYw a video]] portraying Bowser as a PowerUpMount, claiming that they were scrapping the Bowser Rampage system due to the trouble of designing fun and interesting levels. The day after it was posted, the team revealed that the Bowser Mount was the original concept for having Bowser playable, and the video was recorded using an earlier build of the game.
* AutoscrollingLevel:
** World 2-S5 (Arabian Night): A Saudi Arabian village at night. Enemies include [[VideoGame/MetalSlug saber-tossing mooks]] and crows.
** World 3-4 (Venomous Void): It is full of dangerous electric seaweed and electric jellyfish.
** World 6-4 (Crystal Labyrinth): Based on the notoriously hard crystal stage in the arcade version of Gradius III, this level features the titular crystal cubes flying at you in this autoscrolling level.
* BattleshipRaid:
** World 1-SHIP (Doomship Assault) The final obstacle between you and Bowser's Keep is this Doomship level. Larry Koopa awaits you at the end as a boss. [[{{Foreshadowing}} Why are the other Doomships being mobilized so quickly?]]
** In World 3-SHIP (Subterranean Hell): Wendy O. Koopa's fleet of submarines and u-boats have been sucked into the Ocean of Oblivion! Once you get through the gauntlet of cannons and Torpedo Ted launchers, the player has to face Wendy herself in her flagship Doomsub! She brings back her deadly red rings of death for this battle!
** World 6-2 (Security Grid) [[Franchise/{{Halo}} The Covenant]] have breached the security wing of the [[VideoGame/{{Starfox}} Great Fox]]. They have activated the defense systems in that wing. Mario and crew must fight off the Covenant and disengage the defense systems in order to restore control of the Great Fox to the Star Fox team.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: World 3-1 (Viscous Burrow): This level is covered in purple slime. Its main inhabitants are smaller maggots and giant maggots.
* BleakLevel: World 3 (Ocean of Oblivion) takes place in a dimension that is not quite the real world and not quite Hell. It takes place in a vast ocean eternally shrouded in unsettling dusk and constant thunderstorms. It is the realm that lies past World 2 in the BermudaTriangle.
* BossArenaIdiocy: The boss of World 2-S1 (Atlantic Abyss) is a [[ThreateningShark White Shark]] from VideoGame/EccoTheDolphin. It is invincible against all of your attacks, it constantly seeks you out, and it rushes you at blinding speed. There are large jellyfish that enter the playfield occasionally. The only way to damage the White Shark is to dupe it into rushing into a jellyfish.
%%* BubblegloopSwamp: World 3-3 (Slush Marshes)
* CityOfGold: World 5-S5 (El Dorado). Named after the lost city. An NPC warns the player about being too greedy.
%%* DarkWorld: World 4-3 (Lost Paradise)
* DisproportionateRetribution: Make the Witch found in Dead Air mad and it will make you dead. She gets mad at Mario and the group just for standing near her for too long.
* DualBoss: The Snowman and Fire Elemental at the end of Wretched Winterland.
%%* GeniusLoci: World 5-F2 (Living Palace)
* GhibliHills: World 5 (Midgard) is shaping up to be this. This is most evident in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=mKpH31nLrQA#t=314 World 5-2]] ([[Franchise/FinalFantasy Chocobo]] River).
* GiantFlyer: World 5-SHIP (Eagle Path) Based on the 4th stage of the first ''VideoGame/GoldenAxe'', "The Fiends' Path", this level takes place on the back of a giant eagle. Dangers include homing feathers, large Mana Beasts, and unstable platforms.
* GrimyWater: World 4-[=HC2=] (Poison Aqueduct) Most of this level is filled with damaging liquid. The only way to pass through is to use the Starman.
* HailfirePeaks
** World 4-F2 (Wretched Winterland) plays this trope straight, with a lava pool in a bleak wintry landscape.
** World 6-F1 (RGB Factory) takes place in a high-tech factory with three distinct areas: a red area (lava and fire), a green area (overrun with plant life), and a blue area (a swimming area). This is a key hunt level with a central hub that leads to a boss fight with [[VideoGame/RType Dobkeratops]].
* HeroicFantasy: World 5 (Midgard). Settings and enemies are of typical fantasy settings, such as gothic castles and [[GhibliHills pristine, untamed landscapes and wildernesses]]. The regions in Midgard are, in order: [[VideoGame/MushroomKingdomFusion Verdant Plains]], [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXII The Vaddu Strand]], Concealed Chasm, Crystalmere, and Skyridge Range.
* LethalLavaLand: Occurs in Corona Core because the sun is heating up the planet's crust.
* LittleBitBeastly: Peach's Kitsune Suit.
* ManEatingPlant: Piranha Plants, Green Monsters and Man Eaters
* MegaCrossover: But [[DownplayedTrope not quite as much]] as ''VideoGame/MushroomKingdomFusion''. Character appearances, outside of the Mario cast, are limited to [[DemotedToExtra cameos]] within original contexts.
* MonsterClown: Mook in game. Uses cards as projectiles and sprays confetti upon dying.
* MythologyGag: Some of Bowser's attacks are based off of his special moves in the ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' games.
* NightmarishFactory: World 4-S2 (Infernal Industry), as it takes place in Di Yu.
* PowerupMount: Several. This is a core game mechanic that gives all playable characters different abilities.
** Yoshi is in as the most versatile mount. Along with his ExtremeOmnivore status (nerfed from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld''), he brings in his abilities from several ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' games that feature him: [[VideoGame/YoshisIsland a flutter move that slows fall speed when his rider has a flight powerup]], [[VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii the ability to eat certain enemy projectiles and spit them back out at the enemy as weapons]], and eating and spitting out explosive items (like Bob-Ombs) as weapons (an ability from ''VideoGame/SuperMario64 DS'').
** The Kuribo's Shoe (AKA Goomba's Shoe) gives the players super stomping abilities and the ability to walk on dangerous terrain.
** The [[Franchise/FinalFantasy Chocobo]] gives the player permanent flight and slow-fall abilities, as well as a faster running speed. It can also [[EnemyDetectingRadar detect hidden blocks that are nearby]], which is useful for finding secrets. It is weak offensively, as its only attack other than stomping is a short-ranged beak pecking attack.
** The [[VideoGame/MetalSlug SV-001 Tank]] gives the player obscene offensive power with an omni-directional machine gun attack and a powerful cannon attack with a large blast radius. The tank can take multiple hits before being destroyed. It is the slowest mount available, and players cannot take it through pipes or clear a level while driving it.
%%* ParasolOfPrettiness: Peach's Perry Suit.
* PromotedToPlayable: From World 2 and beyond, Bowser becomes controllable only in the Bowser Rampage sections.
* SpaceZone: World 6 (Outer Nebula) is ScienceFiction themed, taking place in outer space, on alien planets, space stations, and spaceships.
* SoundtrackDissonance: The music, most of which comes from the Korean MMORPG ''VideoGame/RagnarokOnline'', is very, very dramatic when played in levels of the first world, the Mushroom Kingdom, a world consisting of purely Mario-themed levels. The [[http://youtu.be/xgobJOq2Dv8 Raiden III boss theme]] does not fit most of the World 1 bosses, being some of the most dramatic boss music in history (especially when played during a fight against the Koopalings in a standard Mario style battle). Similarly the [[http://youtu.be/ZJuaHyVA-Ps Fortress music]] (from VideoGame/RagnarokOnline) is ridiculously dramatic for a Mario-styled fortress level. Like ''Mushroom Kingdom Fusion'', worlds past the first take place in more serious locales, such as [[WelcomeToTheRealWorld the real world Earth]], a hellish dimension, a fantasy-themed world, and a sci-fi world. Unlike ''MKF'', however, ''Super Mario Fusion Revival'' uses a universal soundtrack, so while this trope is played straight in World 1, it is averted in worlds past that and the music fits many of the levels in those worlds. WordOfGod says it's done on purpose, similar to how ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy'' has dramatic orchestral music for most of its soundtrack.
%%* StringyHairedGhostGirl: InvincibleMinorMook in World 4.
* StartMyOwn: Somewhat. ''SMF'' was the original idea that became ''MKF'', and [=JudgeSpear=] decided to revisit that in mid-2011 since the latter had mutated so far past the original concept.
* TempleOfDoom: World 2-S3: Parthenon Peril. The Rebel Army has taken control of the Parthenon and its underground labyrinthine maze. Rumor has it a beast named "Tryclydius Maximus" was seen somewhere in the catacombs...
* UndergroundLevel:
** World 3-1 (Viscous Burrow)
** World 4-5 (Crimson Cavern) is a maze level that switches between a blood-filled and a lava-filled version of the same cavern, with some minor differences.
* UnderwaterRuins: World 3-S2 (Poseidon Ruins) takes place in [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin underwater ruins]].
* UnexpectedGameplayChange: The Bowser Rampage segments, which switch from traditional Mario-style platforming to more of a beat'em up.
%%* VillainousHarlequin: Deathjesters
* WelcomeToTheRealWorld: World 2 (Terra Alternata) is this trope. It takes place in various locations around the actual planet Earth, with its world map consisting all seven continents. World 2 crosses over with ''VideoGame/MetalSlug'' primarily.
* WombLevel: So far, World 4-SHIP (Belly of the Dragon) and World 3-GH (Lair of the Leviathan).
