A WidgetSeries meaning "Crossing of People" first started in 1978 by Tamori Yosuke. Two anime series exist based on this franchise, as well as five video games for the Playstation systems. One of the main themes is the PowerOfFriendship and importance of them. The PSP version is a loose adaptation of the two Playstation games, the first of which was released as early as ''1996''. The franchise is pretty much a good example of a NoExportForYou

Oh, and the anime was done by Creator/BeeTrain[[note]]with ProductionIG[[/note]], the same people as the animation for ''VideoGame/{{Xenogears}}'', ''{{Noir}}'', and many ''Franchise/DotHack'' series game.

Did we mention that this is most ''definitely'' a WidgetSeries?

!!''[=PoPoLoCrois=]'' provides examples of:

* ActionGirl: Kai, Jilva, Leona.
* AdaptationDistillation: The only game to receive an overseas release (The PSP Title) is a combined adaptation of the first two Playstation games. Some of the first game's content is cut or compressed, but expanded a little with a side-story set in between the first two games.
* AdaptationDyeJob: Seriously, Pietro's hair changes in every adaptation, like the creators can't decide what his hair color should be! In the games, it's brown, in the 3 minute pilot, it's orange, in the 1998 anime, it's blonde, and in the 2003 anime, it's brownish blonde.
* AnachronismStew: One half is a MedievalEuropeanFantasy... alongside ambiguously Roman areas (Which actually isn't ''too'' implausible)... alongside any area the Gami Gami Devil lives in with robots and ''modern-day-Japanese rooms''.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Elena
* TheArcher: Leona
* BilingualBonus
* BittersweetEnding: Averted. [[spoiler: Pietro gets one wish for saving the world... guess what he wishes for.]]
* CerebusRollerCoaster: Given the adaptation of two games, this is a given. Both start surprisingly light-hearted (Given the artstyle!) but it quickly gets ''real'', and when it gets real... ''you know it''.
* CharacterDevelopment: Narcia gradually grows closer to Pietro and accepts [[spoiler: Her heritage, as well as the fact that their relationship didn't ''need'' to be forbidden]]
** Jilva. At first she's a bit of a SpoiledBrat with her father ''clearly'' favouring her.. but her mother is shown to be a SternTeacher who can keep her in line, and her adventures with Pietro teach her to become a member of the ActiveRoyalty.
* DanceBattler: Jilva.
* DarkerAndEdgier: The second game.
* DullSurprise: Leona's english voice.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: Does Pietro ''ever'' have to go through ''hell'' to get his happy ending.
* EldritchAbomination: The Ice Demon, Barbaran.
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses
* EverythingsBetterWithSamurai
* EvilIsHammy: GamiGami. [[LargeHam "Otoko no ROMAAAAAN!!"]]
* EvolvingWeapon: The Dragon Sword. Pietro's starting weapon and ''ultimate'' weapon.
* {{Expy}}: Pietro looks oddly similar to [[LegendofZelda Link]]. This hasn't gone unnoticed by fans.
* FairFolk: [[spoiler: Narcia]].
* FullContactMagic: Jilva's special attacks.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: The player is not able to bring Narcia around any areas with salt water.
* GrandTheftMe: Pietro's father
** [[spoiler: Maira tries it to Pietro... but then possesses his ''mom'' instead!]]
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: A small but EXTREMELY subtle instance appears in episode 11 of the 1998 anime where a certain character is '''almost''' DrivenToSuicide, and the anime implies said character attempts it THREE times.
* GratuitousFrench
* GuestStarPartyMember: The only true example is Kai. Because she is also Narcia, it's impossible for her to join permanently.
* HalfHumanHybrid: PIetro is half dragon. Notable in that his ''mother'' is the dragon.
* HeelFaceTurn: Gami Gami Devil, [[spoiler: Maira performs one right at the end.]]
* HeroicBSOD: Pietro has one when [[spoiler: He and the White Knight kill the earth dragon]]
** [[spoiler: The king of gods himself had it when he punished Maira]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: Narcia attempts one. Pietro's mom does it as well.]]
* HeroesPreferSwords: Pietro
* HurricaneKick: How Jilva fights.
* JokeCharacter: Three in fact: Gon, Don, and Gabo.
** LethalJokeCharacter: See MagikarpPower.
** In-Universe example, the last of Maira's minions, Boxie, despite being a DamageSpongeBoss.
* KidHero: Pietro and Narcia are ''ten'' during the first game.
* MagicDance: Jilva is able to perform some of these.
* MagikarpPower: Gabo. Ungodly weak and useless, essentially being an EleventhHourSuperpower... that is if you decide to go through all the process of babying him.
* MarathonBoss: Almost every boss if one doesn't take advantage of charged attacks.
* MissingMom: Zig-zagged. Pietro rescues his mom in the first game, [[spoiler: loses her... only to get her back.]]
* NoExportForYou: The ''entire'' franchise. The first anime received a dub and was broadcast on some Latin American countries, but only that.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Would you believe that these characters are supposed to be teenagers? The voiceacting (Pietro has the same voice as when he's a ten year old) doesn't help either.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Gami Gami Devil, White Knight.
** NoNameGiven: White Knight.
* PettingZooPeople: The people of Bryonia
* ThePowerOfFriendship: One of the ''key'' themes.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Gon and Don. They're ''completely'' useless.
* TrickArrow: Leona
* PickyEater: When Gami Gami dresses Jilva as Narcia, some of his robots try to make her eat her vegetables, which JIlva doesn't like. As this is a Japanese trope, these vegetables that Jilva will not eat are, of course, carrots and green peppers.
** StockYuck: Green peppers and carrots are fairly common versions of this in Japanese media.
* PowersViaPossession: Pietro's father when he becomes the dark lion king
* QuirkyMinibossSquad: The Ice Demon and Maira ''both'' have them.
* RedMage: Narcia has healing but she gets a lot of attacking and buffing abilities too. She also shares this role with Jilva, who veers more towards the physical side of the trope.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Pietro, [[spoiler: Narcia]]. Jilva at first is an idle royalty, but she becomes a member of active royalty through the game. Not to mention, Pietro's parents are pretty active.
* [[spoiler: SelflessWish]]
* SpinAttack: Jilva.
* SpirtualSuccessor: There are QUITE a few similarities between this series and the BreathOfFire series, most notably the fact that the protagonist is half dragon and gains powers from it.
* SpoiledSweet: Jilva's CharacterDevelopment.
* StalkerWithACrush: Gami Gami to Narcia.
* SternTeacher: Jilva's father is a complete pushover... however Jilva's mother, on the other hand, will ''not'' let her get away with the stuff her father does!
* TakenForGranite: [[spoiler: Julius]]
** Some other characters turn to stone and fall to pieces... but that's more metaphorically speaking rather than ''literal'' and is PlayedForLaughs.
* TomboyPrincess: Zig-zagged with Jilva - Despite dressing feminine and engaging in activities such as dancing (To be fair, the latter is part of her culture), she is primarily an ''attacker'', and is more of a RedMage focusing a little more on offense and melee.
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: Narcia is Kai
* [[spoiler: VictoriousChildhoodFriend: Narcia]].
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Kai and Narcia thanks to a MacGuffin.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Forest Witches will turn into a bubble if they come in contact with saltwater.
* WidgetSeries: Oh ''yes''.
* {{Wutai}}: There is a Japan-themed area where Kimendoji can be recruited late-game.
