''Bloodforge'' is a third-person view HackAndSlash action video game developed by the Creator/ClimaxGroup and published by Creator/MicrosoftStudios in 2012.

Poor Crom. This barbarian warrior just wanted to settle down with his wife Alena. But the Celtic god Arawn has destroyed Crom's village, and turned Alena into a demon. Crom didn't even know the demon was his wife until he killed her. Now Crom wants Arawn to pay for this.

Curiously, the barbarian mooks he fights often wear thick fur cloaks...yet are still completely shirtless, and most of them do not even use shields to compensate for being completely unprotected. Presumably, this was to make it easier for the game to show off all the {{Gorn}}, common sense be damned.
** Made even weirder by how the same mooks (as well as their miniboss and boss varieties) combine being shirtless with wearing full face-covering metal helmets, implying that they do care about protection somewhat. This is in spite of such helmets essentially restricting one's field of view to its tiny eyeholes, and thus being far more uncomfortable to wear than body armour, let alone a simple fur coat, would. In RealLife, fully enclosed helmets were only worn if the rest of the body was already completely encased in armour (be it knights, samurai or [[UsefulNotes/PersiansWithPistols Parthians]]), while lighter armored folk stuck with helmets that protected only the skull and at most nose and back of the head as well, precisely because a better protected face wasn't worth taking a massive hit to visibility and becoming much easier to flank. However, the game designers only cared about not having to render and animate the enemies' faces.
* FinishingMove: Used by Crom on the downed/stunned enemies.
* FollowTheLeader: It's a third-rate ''VideoGame/GodOfWar'' clone with very hard gameplay and a ''terrible'' camera.
* {{Gorn}}: The game isn't called ''Blood''forge unjustly; there are copious amounts of it everywhere, frequently accompanied by lovingly gory dismemberments.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Cutting enemies in half at the torso is a favorite finishing move of Crom, second only to decapitating them.
* HighPressureBlood: Played straight, as part of the premise.
* HornyVikings: While the protagonist is a Celt, rather than a Viking, he still wears a whole deer's skull for a helmet, complete with a large set of horns. Luckily for him, no enemy ever tries grabbing those.

* YouAllLookFamiliar: There is only one enemy model for each type. In the opening, Crom is beset by several sword-wielding barbarian mooks that are completely identical. After he deals with them, and a miniboss, he is attacked by a group of similar barbarians that all wear WolverineClaws instead and also look identical to each other.
