!!This VideoGame contains examples of:
%%* BarbarianHero: [=McGill=]. No surprise given his CaptainErsatz status.
%%* BathingBeauty: Jurane in her ending.
* BlingOfWar: Naturally given his love of gold, Gildus is decked out from head to toe in gold plate.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: The second sub-boss Xeldus is Iriana's father, defeated and brainwashed by Gildus into being his servant.
* CaptainErsatz: [=McGill=] is clearly a stand-in for ''Franchise/ConanTheBarbarian''.
* TheChosenOne: The playable characters were each chosen by one of the six gods of the setting to set out to defeat Gildus. At the end of each match, the patron of the winner celebrates while the loser's patron is dismayed.
* ClothingDamage: Several of the characters wear armor that acts as additional health and must be destroyed before health damage can be inflicted.
* DarkActionGirl: Imageo, a spellcaster in Gildus' service and the last opponent faced before the man himself.
* DeviousDaggers: The first sub-boss is Launa, a diminutive demi-human who fights by DualWielding knives.
* {{Expy}}: Irriana is a non-villainous version of Irene, the sub-boss from the first stage of ''Gladiator'' most well known for being the game's MissFanservice via ClothingDamage.
* FantasticRacism: The "Wizard Tribe" from which Jurane and Imageo hail is implied to be on the receiving end of this according to one of the former's winquotes.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Irriana has blonde hair and happens to function as a heroic counterpart to Irene from ''Gladiator''.
* HeelFaceTurn: Diokles apparently had an offscreen one between ''Gladiator'' (In which he was the third to last opponent before Gildus himself) and this game.
%%* KnightErrant: Irriana becomes one in her ending.
* KnightlySwordAndShield: As in ''Gladiator'', Gurianos, Diokles, Iriana and Gildus wield these. Xeldus (the only character identified as a knight) also uses a set.
* LadyAndKnight: Although not actually a knight, Gurianos appears to have this dynamic with the unnamed queen he rescues in his ending.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Jurane and Imageo are a pair of spellcasters in an otherwise all-martial cast.
%%* LeotardOfPower: Imageo wears a black one.
* LineageComesFromTheFather: In her ending, Irriana inherits her father's position as a knight of their kingdom. Her mother is never mentioned.
%%* MagicWand: Imageo uses one in lieu of a weapon.
%%* MirrorMatch: Curiously, the game ''ends'' with one that acts as a GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere after Gildus is defeated.
* MsFanservice: Just like in ''Gladiator'', Irriana. She is the only female character who can be subjected to ClothingDamage, and can potentially end every fight in a BattleBikini. Unlike her predecessor Irene, she cannot be rendered topless.
%%* PointyEars: Jurane, Launa and Imageo sport these, as does Jurane's patron goddess.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Diokles and [=McGill=] become kings in their respective endings. The text states that this does not stop them from personally intervening in wars (Diokles) or going on other such adventures ([=McGill=])
%%* {{Samurai}}: Retsu-Zen. He seems to come from the setting's {{Wutai}}.
%%* SexyBacklessOutfit: Jurane's.
%%* {{Shotoclone}}: Gurianos and Diokles. However, neither was one in the previous game ''VideoGame/{{Gladiator}}''.
* WeaponSpecialization:
** Jurane is the only spear-wielder in a cast largely consisting of swordsmen. Curiously, she's a spellcaster.
** As mentioned above, Launa uses a pair of knives.
** Also mentioned above, Imageo fights with a magic wand.
