Bar Oasis is a visual novel/simulation game developed by Corners Studios for iOS.

You are Victor Johnson...and Vic needs a job. He walks by Bar Oasis, and he sees a sign saying they're hiring. With nothing to lose, Vic goes into the bar, and from that moment on his life takes on an unusual twist.

The game mostly revolves in making drinks for the patrons of Bar Oasis. You're judged on how accurately you follow the cocktail recipe. The better it's graded, the bigger the tips. Serve a piss-poor cocktail, and you don't get paid at all.

There are currently two sequels to the game, ''Bar Oasis 1.5'', which serves as an {{Interquel}} to ''Bar Oasis 2''.

In ''Bar Oasis 1.5'', the main character changes to Carla Mencia, a Brazilian girl who stumbled into Bar Oasis thinking that the bar itself services cars after her car breaks down. She then takes over as bartender at the Bar Oasis while Vic is away, [[spoiler:chasing Desree all the way to Hong Kong.]]

!!This series provides examples of:
* AndYourRewardIsEdible: Reaching certain profit levels will give you more brands of liquor. It's possible to invert this trope in ''2'''s "A Day in the Bar" mode, where doing poorly will remove bottles of liquor.
* AwfulWeddedLife: Sheila's first marriage was a nightmare for her, thus her aversion to marriage.
* BackFromTheDead: There can be a random encounter where [[spoiler:the ghost of John [=MacDuff=] ]]shows up in the bar casually [[spoiler:munching on a burger]], much to Victor's shock.
-->'''Victor:''' [[spoiler:Mister Macduff!]]
-->'''[[spoiler:John:]]''' Huh? Oh well. *disappears*
-->'''Victor:''' What the hell was that?!
* BadBoss: You have to wonder how Boss became the boss of Bar Oasis.
* BagOfSpilling: You know how hard you had to work in the first game to get the bar filled with all the liquor? Well, Boss squandered it away at the start of ''1.5'' and it becomes very obvious in ''2''. Oddly enough, in ''2'', you can do this to ''yourself''.
* BigEater: John [=MacDuff=] is rarely seen without a burger in his mouth.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: Kane, [[spoiler:when he gets alcohol in his system. He goes from BadassBiker to a sobbing mess in a matter of seconds. Boss advises you to switch his order with a non-alcoholic equivalent.]]
* BribingYourWayToVictory: Three {{Microtransactions}} in ''Bar Oasis 2'' can help you do this. They are 1) advertisements to either fill your bar with regulars (easier) or fill it with people constantly (harder), 2) [[GamePlaysItself make drinks automatically]], and/or 3) having a full shelf. Each of those microtransactions cost 99 cents while the game is $3.99.
* {{Bouncer}}: This bar doesn't have one. Which doesn't help when you're attempting to kick out patrons who had one too many.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: Kane. Some customers could be susceptible if they had, say, a Cinderella, a Shirley Temple and then a Black Russian.
* TheCasanova: Both Mark and Alex try to pass themselves as one (With Alex acting like he's James Bond).
* ChekhovsGun: Caol Ila a la Murakami in ''1'', the Oasis in ''1.5'' and ''2''.
* ContentWarnings: Played straight in the first game due to the game's nature, but added quite a dash of snark in ''1.5'' and ''2''.
* DamnYouMuscleMemory: The positions of the drink components have completely changed between ''1'' to ''1.5'' and ''2''.
* DeadpanSnarker: Vic.
* DefrostingTheIceQueen: Getting Desree to open up to Vic.
* DiggingYourselfDeeper: Vic is a victim to this ''all'' the time.
* DrinkingOnDuty: Vic, who closes the bar early to party with Mark and Sheila [[spoiler: and later sleeps with both Desree and Risa after having a few too many. Granted, it's after the bar is closed.]]
** Mr. Robinson kinda forces Vic to do so after testing him on a new drink and just leaving it to him without drinking it.
** Vic did this to create a new drink for Mark and Shiela.
* DrowningOurRomanticSorrows: Mark does this in part 2 when [[spoiler: he proposes to Sheila, but is rejected. He goes on a booze blitz for a few days before Sheila comes into the bar and they both drown out their sorrows in booze until Mark realizes that Sheila does want to be with Mark, just not married.]]
* DrunkOnMilk: Very uncommon, but it is possible for customers to be drunk on nothing but Cinderellas and Shirley Temples.
* AnEntrepreneurIsYou: You are running a bar, after all.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: Jean-Luc (the boss of Bar Oasis), but everyone except Mr. Hilts calls him Boss (His phone number is even listed as Boss). Mr. Hilts calls him Kid instead of Boss (to Boss's dismay).
* EasyModeMockery: In Story Mode, if you have to look up the recipe while preparing or making the drink, you will have your maxiumum profit cut to $1/drink in ''Bar Oasis 1'', $5/drink in ''1.5'' and ''2''. Better memorize those recipes. This is really justified in ''1.5'' and ''2'' because the drinks menu and the order sheet function from ''1'' gets integrated.
* {{Fanboy}}: Alex, who lives to emulate both Franchise/JamesBond and Creator/IanFleming.
** Mark is a fanboy of Risa. [[spoiler:Vic, too, in her ending.]]
* FlavorText: The drink recipes in ''1.5'' and ''2'' have the Boss's notes, which give an insight to what he thinks of the drinks.
* FreewareGames: ''Bar Oasis 1.5'' is free. The rest are paid games.
* GamePlaysItself: In ''Bar Oasis 2'', you can buy an IAP that auto-creates the cocktails for you. But if you use this, your tip is maxed out at $5 per drink for an Excellent cocktail (compared to $7 if you do it manually.) Also, in the same game, once you make an Excellent cocktail, you can opt to have one automatically made. As a tradeoff, all your cocktails will be graded as "Decent" ($3/drink).
* GenkiGirl: Carla.
* [[GrumpyOldMan Grumpy Old Men]]: Mr. Hilts (the owner of Bar Oasis) and his friends get together every Thursday. Mr. Hilts [[spoiler: opened the bar as a way for him and his friends to get away from their wives for a few hours.]]
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Vicky. In fact, often she'll show up at Bar Oasis already drunk.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Alex and Vicky, though it came about in a weird way: [[spoiler: In Part 1, Alex attempts to woo Vicky, but Vicky flatly states that she's not attractive to fat men, which Alex resolves to lose weight. In part 2, Alex has slimmed down and Vicky falls hard for him after he gets a Vesper cocktail for her. Then one day, Alex is distraught because he saw Vicky without makeup and starts to get second thoughts about his attraction to her. His response? He gets fat again. In a span of a few days, Alex is back to his Part 1 self, but Vicky doesn't really care, saying that she doesn't mind [[Franchise/WinnieThePooh Pooh]] sized men.]]
* ImageSong: "Oasis" - Risa's single. Significant to her in that [[spoiler:Oasis is the drink Boss gives her when she first comes to Bar Oasis in Part 1.5. Then in Part 2, Risa gives a private performance at Bar Oasis for Vic and company. Everyone thinks "Oasis" refers to the drink. In Risa's ending, Vic receives a copy of the single from her, and once he started listening to the lyrics, he finally realizes "Oasis" was actually referring to the bar itself.]]
* INeedAFreakingDrink: Invoked by many of the patrons. Shiela in ''1'' after the a financial backer cut off funding to the play she was in, leading to its cancellation.
* IllTellYouWhenIveHadEnough: Some patrons will throw this at you if you attempt to cut them off from the booze.
* JerkAss: Mr. Robinson, who is notoriously harsh on bartenders, though he seems to have a soft spot for Carla.
** Vic in a way in Part 2.
* LettingHerHairDown: Desree did this in ''1'' just before drinking and sleeping with Vic.
* MeetTheNewBoss: At the end of Part 2 [[spoiler: Boss quits being the boss...and appoints Vic as the new boss.]]
* MistakenForGay: Vic, twice. Desree first makes that mistake when Vic is "interested" in Haruki Murakami's work. Then Vicky comes along and runs a gossip website, pegging him as gay. Shiela kinda warned Vic about it.
** Boss too, after being a target on Vicky's website.
* OnlySixFaces: You see lots of customers, and you might wonder if you've seen them before. In reality, there aren't that many sprite bases in the game's files, but they use those bases ''very creatively''.
* RankInflation: From best to worst - '''Excellent''' > '''Good''' > '''Decent''' > '''Sewage'''
* ARoundOfDrinksForTheHouse: A patron and his girlfriend buys a round of champagne for everyone to celebrate their engagement.
* ScoreScreen: In Story mode (all three games), if you made a profit, you get to move on to the next day. If you lost money at the end of the day, GameOver. In ''Bar Oasis's 2'''s "A Day in the Bar", there is a different one for weekly performances. That one only measures your weekly profits.
* ShrinkingViolet: Risa.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Des'''i'''ree or Desree?
* ATankardOfMooseUrine: [[spoiler:[=ManX=].]] It becomes available after [[spoiler:John [=MacDuff=]'s death]], but there is no order for it in the Order Sheet. It tastes like motor oil.
* TimedMission: Once you start making drinks, you're on a timer. This is problematic in ''1'' when you only have 10 seconds to pour ''8 ounces'' of wine or champagne. Thankfully, the developers realized this problem and upped the time limit in future updates. Oh, and if you go over the time limit and still do it perfectly, the best rating you will get is "Good". The timer only starts after you have gathered the ingredients and implements, so you have plenty of time to gather all the ingredients.
* ToAbsentFriends: When [[spoiler:John [=MacDuff=]]] died, Mr. Hilts and his cadre had a drinking ceremony before quickly going off.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Vic, between 1 and 2 (Boss will even hint at it in the second game.) It's most likely due to [[spoiler: Vic getting dumped by Desree after traveling all the way to Hong Kong during part 1.5]]
* UnsatisfiableCustomer: Some patrons will piss on you if you don't deliver their drinks fast enough, it's like they expect to have their drinks the second they order it.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: The Boss won't let go of that idea with Carla manning the bar.
* WateringDown: Caol Ila a la Murakami is essentially two ounces of Caol Ila whisky thinned with some water. Also, heavily [[ConversedTrope conversed]] in the game in general.
* WorkingWithTheEx: Invoked in part 2 with Desree. [[spoiler:Desree comes in one day, and gives Vic [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech a hard time]] about just drifiting in life without contributing to society. Before she leaves, Vic [[TakeThat fires back by asking her if she is happy with her current life]]. She dismisses it at first, but later on she realizes that she WAS unhappy with her busy lifestyle. So she decides to quit her current job to open her own accounting business, which she offers her services to Vic at a discounted rate. She shows she has a change of heart and tells Vic that now she wants to take care of the people she cares about.]]
* WorldOfBuxom: Everyone but Vicky and Risa have a rather large rack. Even most of the female patrons have ample busts.
