My TV Tropes page. Welcome.

That is double "L" in my handle. I hardly know why I chose this handle. I wanted to use Fllo but it had been already taken, so I figured that XMakesAnythingCool X would make it cooler.

I'm a Czech woman. An avid reader and TV-show-watcher.

!!Tropes that I proposed and launched:
* LanguageBarrier: Plus its PlayingWithWiki sub-page, my very first trope... ah, the memories... I was honestly shocked there was not a page for this.
* CoordinatedClothes: I was again very much surprised there was no page for this concept. I got the idea when I was rewatching "Eve" of Series/TheXFiles and rereading Literature/NorthangerAbbey. Go figure.
* PursueTheDreamJob: I was troping this one chick flick and wanted to find this trope. There wasn't any... I wasn't that shocked this time.
* GoodLuckGesture: I noticed this "crossed-fingers-things" in Friends. LyingFingerCross was close enough, but used for a different thing.
* ReferencedBy: This trivia thing has always fascinated me.
* StrictlyProfessionalRelationship: This one occurred in TRS. Re-defined from former Just Partners.
* OminousVisualGlitch: WebVideo/TheAutobiographyOfJaneEyre made me do it.
* OverTheTopChristmasDecorations: Concept was mentioned in TRS or IP forum.
* UnrevealAngle: I "needed" this trope for WebVideo/TheAutobiographyOfJaneEyre and WebVideo/TheLizzieBennetDiaries pages. Then I noticed it's all over the place.
* RomanticRain: I was once again shocked there was not a page for it already.
* WealthyPhilanthropist: The idea is from TRS of SpoiledSweet.
* AgeGapRomance: Idea: Trope Talk of MayDecemberRomance.
* SoulCrushingDeskJob: Idea is from TRS discussion about some office trope that was cut.
* StandardOfficeSetting: Ditto.
* FormulaForTheUnformulable: This was in TLP forever.
* SleepDeprivation: Missing supertrope.
* SleepDeprivationPunishment: Torturing with sleep deprivation. How was this thing missed?
* TheSuffragette: So proud I thought of this draft.
* MetaphoricalMarriage: This has been in my head forever, especially the variant of gay couples (both for the homophobic society secret relationship scenario and the unofficial wedding ceremony when they can be openly together, but same-sex marriage is not a legal option) and the deeply felt intimate wedding-like moment only among only two lovers.
* SuffrageAndPoliticalLiberation
* WeddingBellsForSomeoneElse
* ShamWedding
* SuicideWatch
* PaperDestructionOfAnger: Must-- not-- tear-- paper-- *crumpling paper into ball*
* PaperTropes (index)
* FakeTexting
* LookingBusy
* DyingSmirk: TRS of GoOutWithASmile.
* ChariotPulledByCats
* TropesToCope

* CatharticChores
* GarrulousGrowth
* LazilyGenderFlippedName: Reworked abandoned TLP idea.
* SpreadWingsFrameShot
* ThemedParty
* BirthdayPartyGoesWrong
* HiredHelpAsFamily

!! Tropes I got to launch or helped to get close to launching, or I helped substantially in TRS or Trope Description Improvement Drive
* EnormousEngagementRing: I happily adopted this draft. Though the OP ninja-stealth-rogue-launched it once I fixed the issues...
* TranslationByVolume: Lol, this is such a fun trope. It was lots of work. Adopted and took care of it.
* ACappella: Adopted and launched.
* Lobotomy: Weird that nobody grabbed it first.
* MonochromeApparition: Happily adopted.
* KinkySpanking & ComedicSpanking: Created from the TRS discussion of a cut trope Spank the Cutie.
* AgonyOfTheFeet: Split trope (Agony of the Feet and its subtrope HurtFootHop). I wrote the new description for Agony of the Feet and launched the new trope Hurt Foot Hop from TLP, but it was really a collaborative effort.
* MeaningfulLook: Worked on it a lot in TLP. Concept and idea by Melkior.
* AmusinglyShortList: Dug up in TLP discard/salvage project.
* FirstPeriodPanic: Dug up in TLP discard/salvage project. And this has been on my mind for a long time, too, with all the aversions to NoPeriodsPeriod.
* NerdyNasalness: Adopted. This one was basically ready to go.
* ReallyFondOfSleeping: Adopted and launched. I worked hard on the examples and description.
* OfficeSports: Expanded description.
* GiftTropes
* AlmostHoldingHands
* Horrorscope
* DeskSweepOfPassion
* MalMariee: A cool niche trope adopted in TLP.
* IntimateHairBrushing
* DanceOfDespair
* BigHonkingTrafficJam
* AwkwardFirstSleepover
* LoveDoodles
* StockClockHandHang
* LowCountGag
* RapidFireDescriptors
* SpinOffCookbook: Adopted trivia.
* StrangelySpecificHoroscope
* RichKidTurnedSocialActivist
* DistressedWoodchopping
* AppetiteEqualsHealth
* MrsHypothetical: Expanded description.

* FilchingFoodForFun
* GarrulousGrowth
* PressHat: Not the exact crop, but I did find the image based on one example.
* ThemedParty
* LoveDoodles
* AnimalLover: Found during NatureLover IP discussion.
* GrannyClassic

!!Pages I Try to Maintain
* PrettyBoy: ZCE are commented out and I try to make sure new additions are properly explained.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: Same. This trope requires three things: extraordinary beauty, black hair, pale skin.
* HotWitch: Same. This trope has two parts: What are her magical abilities? What makes her hot?
* EnglishRose: She must be English or from fantasy/sci-fi counterpart culture. Plus pale, pretty, petite, and pleasant.
* SpiritedYoungLady: Not just any cheeky young woman. Spirited + young + lady does not equal Spirited Young Lady.
* SpoiledSweet: More complex trope than any character who is rich but nice.

!! Substantial contribution:
* TheJoyOfX: I added tons of patterns. I notice them everywhere. They just keep jumping at me. Is that normal?

!!My favourite troping, articles that I wrote, pages that I launched, and the like. Hard to keep the track actually.
* I am an EntryPimp for the Series/Hornblower TV page.
** Characters.HoratioHornblower: I launched its Character sheet for the mi;ni-series, compiled basic entries, then contributed substantially and uploaded the pictures. I think it looks great, if I may say so myself. One kind troper organized it a bit and folderized it.
** FanficRecs.HoratioHornblower: One of the very few works that made me read FanFic so I started a sub-page for it. I prefer MST commentaries and Affectionate Parodies.
* I liked writing and editing Recap/TheXFiles recaps for a really long time. I stopped somewhere around season 7 or 8.
* I adored adding image links to ImageLinks sub-pages. I stopped doing it after a while.
* I plan to write about my favourite writers and my favourite works of fiction that do not have a page yet. Especially some good Czech stuff is missing on this wiki. And I usually notice a new trope that doesn't have a page yet when I try to trope a new work.
* I launched PlayingWith/AlliterativeName's PlayingWith sub-page.
* I started compiling a character sheet for Characters/MurdochMysteries.
* Literature/EugeneOnegin: This book has been my love since I was 13 or so, and I was surprised it did not have a page. I wanted to keep expanding the page, but I didn't. Perhaps one day when I reread the book.
* Literature/TheQueenOfSpades: I love this short story. Couldn't believe that it didn't have a page.
* Characters.MondayMornings and many of the show's sub-pages.
* I started and contributed substantially to WebVideo/TheAutobiographyOfJaneEyre.
* I wrote the article and added some tropes for Creator/GillianAnderson. And I don't even like creator pages for actors and actresses. But I do like her and I thought she's notable enough. The page grew considerably and has other contributors.
* I launched Literature/NatalieMooshabrsMice. Such a cool book.
* Literature/MyAntonia. Most of the tropes and the description is by yours truly.
* Film/AdeleHasntHadHerDinnerYet: It used to be all mine and I worked very hard on the page, but the film has other fans here. I love it. Best Czech movie, IMO. Probably my number one film ever.
* Literature/ABouquet: Fascinating book of narrative poems. Morbid ballads at their finest.
* Literature/TomcatBlueEyesDiaries: Cutest book ever!
* I'm responsible for most content on Characters.AroundTheWorldWithWillyFog. I just love the series so much. I have only gushing for this show.
* WebVideo/TheVictorianWay: This is so awesome... Very Downton-Abbey-esque, except only about the servant(s) and cooking.
* Animation/MrKrbecAndHisAnimals: So awesome. My favourite animation shorts.
* Theatre/Owners: I love Caryl Churchill.
* Series/CasesOfTheFirstDepartment: Rather brilliant crime investigation show. So very Czech.
* Series/ReadyOrNot: LOL, this show... I used to watch it as a kid. Always wondering what /bizi/ and Amanda are up to again.
* Fanfic/MuchAdoAboutShakespeareLovesLaboursWon: First ever fanfic that I liked enough and found fascinating enough to write an article about it here. I usually read slashy fics for the lolz only, but this is somehow different.
* Film/BecomingJane. Lol, this movie...
* Film/IfYouBelieve: My GuiltyPleasure Christmas movie. One of the first pages I created. Hard to say why I like it so much, but I'm really kind of ashamed of it.
* WebVideo/ManicPixieDreamWife: Cool deconstruction of the trope. Deserves recognition and more love.
* WebVideo/OzzyManReviews: Launched.
* I reorganized DoppelgangerCrossover.
* I cross-wicked and organized Literature/Lolita
* Literature/TheEssexSerpent: Launched.
* Literature/TheSixBullerbyChildren: Launched.
* TLP is a fascinating place. Probably my favourite place on the wiki. Launching a trope is a hard work, though.
* I'm a splitter. Soft-split pages are meh.
* I like IP forum. A lot.
* TRS is a necessity, but I am vexed that it takes forever to reach a consensus. And when that happens, almost nobody is willing to do the hard work like dedicated clean-up or taking a new idea through TLP. Pretty please, lend a hand if you can.
* I try to fix example indentation whenever I can.
* Zero-context examples -- my biggest pet peeve. I commented-out tons of pages.

I think it was AliensSpeakingEnglish or something similar. Or perhaps what used to be called You Fail Linguistics Forever. I was in the process of re-watching Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration and Googling for some stuff, and as a student of linguistics, I was fascinated by the language tropes. I also think AwesomeMcCoolName and FailOSuckyName really caught my attention, but I would hardly know to Google such specific concepts. I also realize that I posted one question on Remember that show? forum long before I decided to get an account. Can you post there without an account now? I don't think so. Series/RoadToAvonlea was the half-forgotten show.
\\
\\

I've been trying to remember my very first edit. I think it was a real life section of a trope that is now likely cut for not allowing real life examples. I think I corrected information that Poland was the first victim of the Nazis as it was the first country openly attacked... because Nazis' first victim was totally Czechoslovakia, and perhaps even Austria, if we count the Anschluss. I was dissatisfied with the entry so much that I talked about it with my brother... who suggested that I can correct it if it bothers me so much. ThisIsAWiki.
\\
\\

And that's how my obsession with tropes started.

These are tropes that I noticed in works before I knew there was any such thing as this wiki. Or fiction analysis whatsoever.
* ApocalypseAnarchy: It seriously seemed to me that every other American film or TV series had people looting in it.
* BathroomStallOfOverheardInsults: I knew this trope from Series/AllyMcBeal and when I saw it later on Cold Feet, I was like: "Oh my, they totally copied it from Ally, that is so unoriginal!!" Little did I know...
* ItsACostumePartyISwear: Similar case as above, this time from Film/LegallyBlonde and Literature/BridgetJones Diary, but I forgot which one I had seen first.
* ShowWithinAShow: People in a TV show watching some other TV show. It has always fascinated me and somewhat troubled me. RecursiveReality of it... amazing. The Simpsons intro was my favourite.
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: All the princesses are most beautiful, ever, right? I remember being somewhat dissatisfied that so many different heroines in one book but different stories could all be the most beautiful.

This one I identified in grammar school. By this time I knew about fiction analysis.
* DeusExMachina: The ending of Theatre/Tartuffe when the King saves the day... It was so obsequious and it was a huge, huge disappointment from the very cool Creator/Moliere.

* Literature:
** Creator/JaneAusten: All her books. Emma is my favourite. But really, all of her work.
** Creator/WilliamShakespeare: I should read him more.
** Creator/AlexanderPushkin: Aww, my Russian 19th century boy-friend. I love his short-stories, his poetry, Eugene Onegin... He's so awesome.
** Creator/GuyDeMaupassant: Especially his short stories. "Le Horla" or "Too Black"... so good.
** Creator/OscarWilde
** Creator/EdgarAllanPoe
** Creator/MarkTwain
** Creator/LadislavFuks
** Creator/KarelPolacek
** Creator/AnnaBolava (Literature/IntoTheDarkness and Literature/ToTheBed) -- no doubt best and most talented current Czech authoress
** Literature/WutheringHeights
** Literature/JaneEyre
** Fairytales: The Brother Grimms and Czech fairy-tales. Other folk stories and ballads as well.
** Literature/TomcatBlueEyesDiaries
** Literature/TheSixBullerbyChildren
** Literature/ABouquet
** Literature/TheEssexSerpent
** Literature/TheTurnOfTheScrew
** Creator/KatherineMansfield
* Film (animation):
** Disney/TheLionKing
** WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas
* Film (live action):
** Film/MasterAndCommander
** Film/MontyPythonsLifeOfBrian.
** Film/LemonadeJoe
** Film/AdeleHasntHadHerDinnerYet
** Film/TheMysteriousCastleInTheCarpathians
** Film/PulpFiction
** Film/InglouriousBasterds
** Film/ForrestGump

** Film/CosyDens
** Film/RuffianoAndSweeteeth
** Film/PlayingWithTheDevil
** Film/Morozko
** Film/HeavenlyCreatures
* Live action TV:
** Series/HoratioHornblower: THE. BEST. MINISERIES. EVER.
** Series/TheXFiles: My biggest pre-teen/teen obsession. I still love it to bits. Though I actually never saw season 8 properly. And the new-new revival. I like that it's there and hope I'll like at. And that it will be just as good as I remember.
** Series/GameOfThrones: I didn't even like fantasy before. Also, this show has the best memes. The ending was... fairly disappointing but I still care for this fictional world. It feels very inspired.
** Series/RedDwarf: I love it. It's British. It's sci-fi. It has Lister. It has Ace Rimmer. It has Cat. It has Kryten. It had Holly. I don't need much more.
** Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus: I watched this when almost nobody else knew it here. So gooood.
** Series/RippingYarns
** Series/MurdochMysteries: Especially early seasons.
** Series/Firefly: Good show.
** Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration: Captain Picard and Commander Data for ever.
** Series/Dexter: Ah, such love. I loved the first and second season. So fresh and so amazing, so different... Such great aesthetic. The surrealism and dream sequences were amazing. SunshineNoir at its finest. The SeasonalRot of the last two seasons, especially the very last, was off the charts though. And the finale... I can't even.
** Series/Vikings: I love the show and its characters, but surprisingly I have no desire to trope it. Except when my favourite tropes like Language Barrier or Raven Hair, Ivory Skin pop up.
** Series/TheLastKingdom: Ditto as Vikings. Amazing female characters. Feminine yet strong and no desire to write them as tomboys or forced action girls.
** Series/SixFeetUnder
** Series/TheITCrowd
** Series/Miranda
** Series/Fleabag
** Series/TheHandmaidsTale: It's hella disturbing.
** Series/SuperStore: Great comedy show.
** Series/MadMen: Deep.
** Series/ParksAndRecreation
** Series/AlloAllo: Best Brit com ever?
** Series/SixFeetUnder
** Series/BrooklynNineNine: My new favourite thing.
** Series/TheGoodPlace: My second new favourite thing.
* Mythology
** Myth/ClassicalMythology, especially the Greek versions
** Celtic mythology
** Arthurian legends and stories
** Slavic mythology, especially Czech
** Folk fairy tales, especially the raw versions or its analysis. I like especially Czech ones, and also German ones. Italian ones are fun, too.
** Some myths from Ancient Egypt
* Theatre:
** Jara Cimrman's Theatre (All their plays and most of their movies.)
** Shakespeare
** Wilde
** Caryl Churchill: She absolutely rocks.
** Theatre/TalesOfOrdinaryMadness (Theatre/WrongSideUp)
** Theatre/LaCageAuxFolles
* Western Animation
** WesternAnimation/AroundTheWorldWithWillyFog: Oh my, perhaps my first favourite show ever. When I was about three or four, I so shipped Romy and Mr Fog. Probably the first thing I've ever shipped.
** WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons: It deserves a mention. I loved the early seasons, but I no longer watch it.
** WesternAnimation/Futurama: I watched it and adored it till the first cancellation.
* Web Original
** WebVideo/TheAutobiographyOfJaneEyre
** WebVideo/TheLizzieBennetDiaries
** WebVideo/LucyAndDiC
** Website/SFDebris

* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: I like poetry, so... Simply sounds seductive.
* AffectionateParody: It's best when you have fun watching or reading stuff and you know the creators had just as much fun writing it.
* Bizarchitecture: I love how in fiction anything is possible.
* CaringGardener: So sweet. I love plants and gardening myself.
* CrazyCatLady: I have a soft spot for them. The more (cats), the merrier. The more, the crazier. The crazier, the better.
* CreepySouvenir: Creepy trinkets of serial killers weirdly fascinate me in fiction.
* DestinationDefenestration: Muahahahaha, this is like our national sport. Be careful if you stand near a window in Prague or elsewhere in the Czech Republic. Just kidding. Only in fiction and in history.
* DefenestrateAndBerate: Hysteric spouses who throw stuff of their exes out of the window while screaming are best. But only in fiction.
* EmpathicEnvironment: Ah, weather corresponding to characters' moods or overall situations... This is such a gorgeous trope. I find most weather tropes beautiful. I love how it combines fiction and art with the sublimity of nature.
* EnglishRose: Probably my most beloved trope. I'm an anglophile and almost anything English appeals to me. These women are so precious and delicate. I also love how specific and fairly narrow the trope is.
* Facepalm: Love it. I just do. Very amusing. I have a particular fondness for finding this trope in written media ("buries her face in her hands", "she covers her eyes with her hand in shame" and so on).
* EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench: I lurve foreign languages and various foreign-language-tinged accents.
* FailOSuckyname: Self-deprecation has its value in entertainment. If a character chooses a particularly ugly name, it usually cracks me up.
* FairytaleMotifs: I adore fairy-tales and it's awesome if their motifs appear in other kind of fiction.
* FemaleGaze: I like to look. Occasionally.
* FracturedFairyTale: These kinds of stories are great fun. It's interesting how culture-specific this trope can be, because here there are more stories to "fracture", not just those basic ones the trope description mentions.
* GardenOfLove: Gorgeous.
* TheJoyOfX: Or Tis a Pity I'm a Bore. This trope is too funny. I absolutely adore it. Troping for Fun and Profit indeed. I'm obsessed with this trope. Obsessed I'm telling ya. I keep finding new patters everywhere. I can't stop... Please send help.
* KindheartedCatLover: I love cats myself, so I like meeting fictional friends.
* LanguageTropes: I love languages. Some of those tropes are vaguely confusing and hard to grasp... often the case with language in real life, too, I suppose.
* LoveDodecahedron: Complicated love is interesting to read about. Jane Austen does it best.
* MindScrew: Complicated narrative structures are great. But sometimes it gives me headaches.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Did it really happen? Was it magic? Does the magic exist in the particular fictional world? It's somewhat troubling... but mysterious things are great.
* NestedStory: The more layers the story has, the better.
* NothingIsScarier: It really is. It can scare me senseless.
* OopNorth: I love the accent. "Loove" and "soonshine" are like the best variants of the words ever. Other great English accents include Scottish English and Australian English. The R's are irresistible.
* PrettyBoy: Less appealing than hunky manly men, but angel-like baby-faced man eye candy... why not.
* Recursion: I like how universal this concept is. The more layers, the better.
* RecursiveReality: Fascinating. Simply fascinating.
* RewritingReality: The power of writing and creating. Imagination is awesome.
* RomanticRain: Love and rainy weather just go together. It's a bit overused, but it's really beautiful if done right.
* SpiritedYoungLady: I love Jane Austen, so... I love me some witty, lively, snarky ladies from history. I don't much like this trope if it is used in contemporary works set in the past -- they are rarely done well. I also don't like that this trope gets misused for any cheeky girls, no matter how modern they are. Just notice how many people try to trope a high school girl in the new tens as SYL. Also, I somehow like the trope way less now than before -- it happened when I realised how classist this trope is. A lady is a journalist and has a decent writing career? Sorry, she works, not a lady. I mean -- wut?
* ShoutOutToShakespeare: The Bard is my favourite. He was a genius. It always cheers me up when I spot a Shakespearean reference.
* StockPoses: I love the page with the little cute thumbnail images. Similarly to Face Palm, I like finding instances of these poses in books and theatre scripts.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Tall guys with dark hair with attractive faces and hunky bodies. This is the archetype, lol. PrettyBoy has his charms as well, though.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: Or Tall, Snark and Handsome.
* ThroughTheEyesOfMadness: Interesting to read or to watch. Great potential for story-telling.
* UnreliableNarrator: They are immensely fascinating. It sometimes feels unfair when you take everything in the story for granted and than bam! Another side of the story and everything's up side down.
* UmbrellaOfTogetherness: Lovers sheltered from the rain and cuddling under an umbrella... It's ever so romantic. Truly beautiful.
* WorldOfSnark: Sass and spirit from everybody. It's usually funny as hell. However, I dislike when people snark at me in real life. I take it too personally.

* Emma. Other Jane Austen characters. They are all the best. Even the minor ones like William Larkins and Baddeley.
* Archie Kennedy of Hornblower.
* Dana Scully and Fox Mulder.
* Women on Series/TheLastKingdom. Almost all of them. Iseult the Shadow Queen, sorceress, seeress, healer. Brida. Mildrith, Uhtred's first wife. Gisela, Uhtred's second wife. Aethelflead, Lady of Mericans and future Warrior Queen. Nun Hild. Uhtred is OK and Kind Alfred is OK. Young Ragnar. Finan the Irishman. Mostly Iseult and Aethelflead.
* Women on Vikings: Lagertha. Ragnar. Mostly Legertha. Also Judith (it was the best when she wanted to learn to paint). Murderous Kwenthrith. Athelstan. Mostly Athelstan.
* Game of Thrones: Dolorous Edd. Ned. Sansa. Jon Snow. Jon and Sansa. Podrick. Podrick and Brianne. Tormund. Mostly Tormund and Brianne. Ser Davos.
* Anna Bartakova of Into the Darkness
* Ben Wyatt and Leslie Knope of Parks and Rec. Also Andy and April. And Ron.
* Snow White.
* Esther from Bell Jar. I relate to her fig tree dilema. There are so many possibilities in life, but when you choose one path, others get far away or closed...
* Monika Schöllack
* Dustin and Steve, Eddie, Robin, Jonathan and Nancy, Max, and Joyce from Stranger Things
