33 year old troper from Wisconsin. Likes anime, manga, fantasy, gaming (both of the RPG and console varieties), and action movies.

I primarily hang out on Youtube, where I primarily watch LetsPlay vids (I'm a particular fan of NakaTeleeli) and listen to AwesomeMusic. I also hang out on RPG.Net.

* Altitis: If an MMORPG or other game allows you to have multiple characters, I will likely create a good amount of them. Part of it is wanting to try out every class a game has to offer, and part of it is my love of creating characters in general.
* AttentionDeficitCreatorDisorder: I have this so bad it isn't even funny. My attempts at Nanowrimo and ScriptFrenzy have produced about three to four major projects. Three of them are modern action / HeroicBloodshed pieces which still haven't been finished, and the fourth is my SwordAndSorcery / LowFantasy saga centered around a character that's been in my head for at least twelve years, which I'm STILL trying to write. And that's without mentioning the various other projects that are little more than headspace and scattered notes on my HD.
* BasementDweller: Was this all through high school and college until I moved out.
* BerserkButton:
** Bullying and cruelty in general. Especially against kids.
** Do not fuck with my books or my computer.
** Touching me without my permission (especially from behind) other than a simple tap on the shoulder is not recommended. You get a pass only if you're family or if I know you enough to trust you. It's an autism thing.
* CelibateHero: When you live in a small town with few prospects for romance, you pretty much are this.
* ClusterFBomb: I was a regular sailor-mouth in my college years, but not so much anymore. I still cuss my ass off if I'm especially frustrated by a particular game.
* CrossPlayer: I have played both male and female characters in my day, though I tend to get attached more to my female characters.
* DeathGlare: I'm told I have a good one, but my mom can outglare me any day.
* EntryPimp: I've pimped a good number of works in my day, including a few that are no longer on this site.
* EvilLaugh: When I'm feeling particularly villain-ish (usually during a game) I will occasionally indulge in this.
* ExampleAsAThesis: I can be quite guilty of this in articles I've either started or edited.
* FailedASpotCheck: I do this all the damned time, to the point where I often call moments like these "where is my brain today?" moments.
* HighSchool: Went to high school from 1996-2000. The main good thing about my time in high school was my gaming and my interest in computers, since the Internet was just starting to become popular. My favorite classes were art class and psychology, the latter because I was very interested in dreams in those years. On the minus column, the worst of the assholes I had to deal with were in my high school years, and I hated math.
* JuniorHigh: Went to middle school from 1993-1995, and were the time when I was most interested in girls. I frequented the library a lot, because reading was (and still is to some degree) one of my chief loves back then. Though there were a handful of jerks during that particular period (mostly during eighth grade, but a few in seventh grade as well), the real assholes I would have to deal with would come later during high school.
* LargeHam: Sometimes when I am really into something, I will bust out with this.
* Lurker: I lurk a lot in forums and other areas that I frequent. Sometimes I'll throw a comment on, but more often than not I'll just hang back and watch the action.
* NiceGuy: I try to be nice to most of the people I meet. I have little patience for assholes, however.
* NiceHat: Though I don't wear it often these days, my particular Nice Hat is a black leather cowboy hat that I bought from a hat shop during lunch period on my last day of college.
* PlayByPostGames: I played quite a few of them during the 2000s, and have played a good number of characters.
* TheQuietOne: I'm not very good in social situations, so most of the time, my default mode is just to hang back and observe.
* SerialTweaker: So, so guilty of this.
* TheTeetotaler: I'm not really a drinker. Never saw the fun in it, and I'm not a social guy. And DrowningMySorrows with booze isn't really my idea of fun, especially since you're most certainly going to pay for it the morning after.
* YuriFan: I am a big yuri/femmeslash fan when it comes to anime and fanworks. I especially like yuri with a romantic storyline and characters that I can get to know and love.

* AntiHero: Most of my heroes tend toward Type II to Type IV on the scale.
* Badass: Whenever I write or play a main character, he or she is going to be a badass, whether a street-level avenger or an outright superheroic warrior.
** ActionGirl: I'm especially fond of badass women.
** BadassLongcoat: More than one of my badasses has this in their wardrobe.
* BerserkButton: Pretty much all of my heroic characters do not take kindly to those they love being threatened or hurt. And if you've killed them? God help you...
* CoolGuns: I am very fond of gunplay in movies and video games, and in any modern or futuristic setting, I like to have my characters wielding these.
* CoolSword: If I'm playing or writing a character in a fantasy setting and he or she is not a mage, he or she is probably getting one of these.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Most of my protagonists have these, usually to explain why they are so damned pissed at the bad guys or devoted to protecting others.
* Expy: I played a lot of Play By Post Games in my day, and will sometimes base characters in my stories off both them and the NPC villains and love interests from the games in question. Sometimes I like to combine traits of previous characters into new ones.
* GunsAkimbo: Being an avowed JohnWoo fan, I have used this trope with pretty much all of my gun-wielding characters in gaming and writing, either as a signature style (like the HitmanWithAHeart responsible for my username) or to achieve MoreDakka during a firefight. I myself don't use the trope personally anymore in light gun games -- accuracy goes straight to shit when dual-wielding the game's guns, and I am much more accurate using single-gun.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: I created a vampiric ninja warrior back in high school, and have experimented with various crazy character ideas recently.
* Revenge: A good number of my characters have gone on vendettas in their day.
* RousingSpeech: Has been a trademark of my PlayByPost characters ever since the Feng Shui character that spawned my username.
* UnstoppableRage: A few of my characters have gone ballistic as well, usually when their friends got hurt or worse.

* : Got into this series for the demonslaying action, and stayed for the developing relationships between the three major leads, Guts, Griffith and Casca. Pity the anime had to end as horribly as it did.
* BlackLagoon: First heard about this anime from a poster on a newsgroup for the game TabletopGame/FengShui, who basically called it "Feng Shui: The Anime." The series has a lot of gunfighting action, but what really drew me into the story was the relationship between Revy and Rock, the two lead characters.
* : Got into this for the same reason I got into Berserk.
* : Light Yagami is probably one of the most memorable manga and anime villain protagonists of recent years.
* Dragon Ball Z: While it's been mocked quite often for its various shortcomings (among them the serious ArcFatigue of the later sagas), DBZ will always remain one of my favorite series.
* FistOfTheNorthStar: The original shounen FightingSeries, with some of the greatest Badasses ever to grace the pages of manga.
* GundamWing: My very first giant robot series, which gets really awesome in the later parts when Milliardo goes WellIntentionedExtremist and tries to destroy the Earth.
* MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha: Got into this for the awesome battle scenes and the very adorable and heartwarming relationships between the main cast.
* PuellaMagiMadokaMagica: Starts out as quite the adorable little Magical Girl series. Then comes Episode 3 and things take a turn for the dark as shit. You really come to feel for pretty much every one of the magical girls by the end of it, particularly the two main protagonists Madoka and Homura.
* TenchiMuyo: One of the anime I watched on Toonami, in turns laugh-out-loud funny, heartwarming and seriously badass. This is the series that introduced me to the HaremGenre.

* Superman: I was very big into Superman (and Superboy) as a kid. Haven't read or seen any of his stuff from recent years.
* Batman: Got into Batman as I got older, and to this day am still something of a fan of him. I mainly watch his movies, though trying to get caught up on 20-30 years of Batman comics is not something I'm particularly crazy about.
* SinCity: One of the better crime-noir series out there.

* Film/TheLordOfTheRings Trilogy: This is probably my favorite movie series. Though it's a little slow to start things off, once things get going, they get going. Frodo is probably my favorite character because he's such a goddamn woobie, though I'm also quite fond of the others of the Fellowship, particularly Aragorn.
* TheKiller: This was (and still is) one of my favorite JohnWoo movies. Chow Yun-Fat plays probably the quintessential HitmanWithAHeart, and all of the gunfight scenes, particularly the final one in the church, are badass.
* Film/HardBoiled: This. Movie. Kicks. Ass. From the opening shootout in the teahouse to the utterly nailbiting hospital sequence, John Woo is at his absolute best here. Never has HeroicBloodshed more than lived up to its name.
* Film/KillBill: Probably my favorite of Quentin Tarantino's movies, practically a love letter to martial arts cinema and westerns.
* The Dollars Trilogy: From AFistfulOfDollars to TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly, Sergio Leone was one of Western cinema's all-time masters, and Clint Eastwood plays one of Western cinema's all-time greatest badasses.
* Franchise/StarWars: Love it or hate it, the Star Wars saga will always be one of my favorite space fantasy series.

* NakaTeleeli: First got introduced to him through his Let's Plays of TheLegendaryStarfy series, loved his Minecraft Survival series, and am currently following the Persona 4 Let's Play. I may check out the DotHack games that he also LP'd as well.
* DeceasedCrab: Another quite enjoyable LP'er. He LP'd a lot of classic games, including MonsterParty and Cocoron. My favorites among his collection are LaMulana, CaveStory, and of course, Eversion.
* [=NeoseekerDarkKnight=]: This guy was one of my favorite VideoGame/Touhou Youtubers, who did a lot of vids of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Hisoutensoku. His favorite character was the lovely Yuyuko, and he hated Patchy. In addition to the Touhou stuff, he also did a lot of other doujin games that I enjoyed (including Rosenkreuzstilette) as well as some horror games. He eventually got sick of the fanbase hounding him to do Touhou game after Touhou game (which I very much sympathize with) and canceled his account, pulling all of his vids. I like to think he's still out there on Youtube somewhere under a different name doing Let's Plays of doujin games.
* LetsPlay/Markiplier: Got turned on to his stuff through his many horror game Lets Plays. I particularly like his LetsPlay of VideoGame/TheWitchsHouse.

* The Conan saga: Was and still is one of the seminal SwordAndSorcery series still in publication.
* Literature/TheLordOfTheRings: Still one of the most influential HighFantasy sagas in literature.
* Literature/NineteenEightyFour: Still one of the most frightening Dystopian works ever written, whose message has not faded even 28 years after the title date came to pass.
* Literature/AnimalFarm: Another one by GeorgeOrwell. A very sobering look at the Russian Revolution and its eventual turning on itself by way of BeastFable.
* Literature/TheGiver: Another rather sobering Dystopian work from middle school.

* : Though it only lasted for half a season (damn you, FOX!), the series and its characters still hold that special place.
* Series/CaptainPowerAndTheSoldiersOfTheFuture: One of my favorites as a kid, though it was pretty short-lived. I hope someday to watch the series again.
* Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers: The show that introduced me to the Sentai team genre, and one of my favorites from middle school.
* : One of my favorite shows as a teenager, whose fandom on the internet first introduced me to fanfiction.
* Series/HerculesTheLegendaryJourneys: One of the biggest HeroicFantasy shows of the late 90s and one of my favorites.
* Series/XenaWarriorPrincess: The other major HeroicFantasy show, which was both kick-ass and gave rise to my first femmeslash ship (several years before I even knew what shipping was).

* Badass: A fairly nice beer-and-pretzels freeware action game that needs more love.
* TabletopGame/BigEyesSmallMouth: Mainly bought this game because I was (and still am to some degree) a big anime fan in the late 90s/early 2000s.
* TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons: Didn't get into this game until the very late 90s/early 2000s, but it's one of my bigger interests in this day and age.
* TabletopGame/FengShui: This was the game that single-handedly revitalized my interest in action movies.
* TabletopGame/TheHardWay: A nice little 80s-style freeware action RPG. Not very experienced in system or setting hacking, so I'm not too prepared to use it for general action gaming yet.
* TabletopGame/HongKongActionTheatre: Another very kickass Hong Kong action game, this one more independently produced (and unfortunately out of print).
* TabletopGame/VampireTheMasquerade: This was the very first major tabletop game I ever bought. I'm not as into the 90s "goth" culture as I used to be, and my interest in vampires (other than as targets for slaying) has waned a bit. Still, it was one of my main gaming influences growing up.
* Wushu: This game is a relatively freeform freeware game whose primary focus is cool-ass stunts and descriptions. It goes with Feng Shui quite well.

* The Franchise/SuperMarioBros series: Much like a lot of old-school Nintendo gamers, my very first game was Super Mario Bros. on the NES, and it's fascinating how the franchise has evolved over twenty-five years.
* Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda series: My first real Zelda game was Link's Awakening, and my other favorite game of the series is Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64.
* The Franchise/MegaMan series: Another one of my old favorites as a kid, my first real Mega Man game was Mega Man V. I haven't beaten a lot of the old NES Mega Man games, but anyone who does so in vids and elsewhere has my respect -- those games were (and still are) the epitome of NintendoHard.
* The VideoGame/Doom series: My first real FirstPersonShooter and the series which turned me on to DemonSlaying.
* The VideoGame/DukeNukem series: I first got into the series through Duke Nukem II and then the shareware version of Duke Nukem 3D. I might pick up DukeNukemForever somewhere down the road.
* The Franchise/MortalKombat series: One of my favorite fighting game series and my first real "gorefest" game.
* The VideoGame/Touhou series: BulletHell is a genre that I frankly suck at, but I got into the series because of the awesome and adorable doujinshi on Danbooru and elsewhere, and because of the awesome music.
* VideoGame/AdventureQuestWorlds: I play a lady Paladin and Undead Slayer by the name of Etheara who is on the side of Good, as well as an Evil Rogue/Mage by the name of Ariacus.
* VideoGame/LordOfTheRingsOnline: Not as active nowadays as I used to be (mainly because of Diablo), but my two highest-level characters are Baralur and Denenthera on the Imladris server.
* The Franchise/MassEffect series: Personally haven't played the series, but the Let's Plays and other vids on Youtube are quite awesome, and I love the fanfics that people write for the series. I especially love MassEffect2, but I think I'm going to wait until Bioware releases all three games together before I dive into the franchise in general.
* The series: Got into this series mainly because of my love of DemonSlaying. Bought the Diablo II Battle Chest and VideoGame/DiabloIII, and have not looked back. I've built up quite the roster for Diablo III, and have cleared normal on four of my characters -- the Demon Hunter Taliara, the Monk Saraven, the Barbarian Gorloth and the Wizard Huangshan. My [=BattleTag=] is [=TwoGunAngel#1562=]
* VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim: An epic fantasy game that is one of my favorites so far. Not sure if I plan on grabbing any of the [=DLCs=], but I do plan on getting my hands on some of the other Elder Scrolls games out there.
* VideoGame/Minecraft: Quite the interesting little game, where you craft things, build things, and basically try to survive in a world of cubes where monsters come out at night and try to eat you.

* Webcomic/Sunstone: Stjepan Sejic has woven a quite engaging tale of two women exploring the ins and outs of both the BDSM lifestyle and their growing relationship with each other.

* The WebAnimation/HvH MUGEN series by solkenneth003, which combines badass action with some of the best storytelling I've seen in a MUGEN series. Definitely worth checking out.

* Thundercats: Probably one of my favorite cartoons back when I was a little boy.
* DuckTales: A common watch back when I was getting ready for school.
* : Another favorite from my 90s days.
* TheRealGhostbusters: Another favorite from childhood.
* TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles: This was the series that got me interested in martial arts and ninja stuff back in middle school.
