* ActingForTwo: The English dub had Zatch and Zeno both played by Debi Derryberry, though the dub was cancelled before the Faudo arc, meaning both characters didn't get a chance to interact with each other.
* Blooper: In the English dub of episode 67, Kiyo mentions Zofis' name before Dr. Riddles reveals that Milordo-Z was really Zofis.
* BreakingNewsInterruption: On January 1, 2024, a marathon of this show on Tokyo MX that promoted the new Zatch Bell app was interrupted shortly after the theme song for a news update on the Sea of Japan earthquake. After a few minutes, it cut back to the show in progress.
* CreatorBacklash: While he looks back on it more fondly nowadays, Jeff Nimoy, the voice director for the dub and later took over for Kanchomé after Richard Horvitz, wasn't too thrilled about working on the show during the time of the dub's production, both because it was during a hard period in his life and because he simply found it to be bad.
* CutShort: In both versions of the anime, it ended before the official resolution to the plot. In Japanese it ended after 150 episodes, right after the battle with Zeno. The dub cuts out at 104 right before the start of the Faudo Arc. Either way, you have to read the manga in order to get the rest of the story... which its English translation also applies due to being ScrewedByTheLawyers only a few volumes before the end. In America it stopped airing after episode 77.
* FandomNod: The ending of the manga, which includes a group photo containing nearly every single demon who appeared in the series.
* LateExportForYou: The Brazilian edition of the manga began to be published in 2023, 22 years after the series began.
* NoDubForYou: Inverted, as all English home video releases have only the English dubbed version, and include the censorship made for the American TV broadcast. Even when Website/Crunchyroll, which normally only licenses subtitled anime, got it, it was the English dub only.
* OfficialFanSubmittedContent: A card was decided by a contest.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Zatch was voiced by Creator/KonamiYoshida who already voiced Elly, Fango and Robnos prior to this in the final ten episodes due to Creator/IkueOtani's maternity leave, and the difference is very noticeable.
** While most of the Japanese cast reprises their roles for the mobile game, Friends of Eternal Bonds, several characters were recast by necessity as Creator/RokuroNaya (Professor Riddles), Ken Yamaguchi (Hosokawa and also Nakata-sensei ), Creator/KiyoyukiYanada (Baltro), Creator/IemasaKayumi (Goldo) and Creator/UnshoIshizuka (Gustav) all passed away in the intervening years, resulting in Creator/KoichiYamadera, Kiyohiro Yamaguchi Ken Yamaguchi's son , Takahiro Fujiwara, Creator/ShinpachiTsuji and Creator/TakayaHashi replacing them respectively. And in the case of Shiori, her original voice actress, Creator/YukaImai retired from voice acting in 2018, due to various difficulties in her life, so Shiori is voiced instead by Creator/MikakoKomatsu.
** In the English dub, Kanchome was originally voiced by Creator/RichardStevenHorvitz, but was later voiced by Jeff Nimoy for the rest of the dub's duration.
** Sherry was originally voiced by Creator/SaffronHenderson in the English dub, but she later moved back to Canada as she was barely getting any work in LA and as a result Sherry was voiced by Creator/KarenStrassman from episode 86 until 104, the point when the dub was cancelled. (And no for those who are unaware, Karen Strassman unfortunately doesn't get to display her superb French accent skills here, despite Sherry being French.)
* ScrewedByTheLawyers:
** The legal fight between Makoto Raiku and Shogakukan resulted in Raiku gaining total control over everything he ever made, this series included. It also rendered all preexisting contracts null and void, effective immediately. That meant Creator/Media was forced to stop publishing the English translation of the manga (one of their best sellers outside the Jump line) just a few volumes from the end.
** The series has since been republished in Japan by Kodansha (who also publishes Raiku's other lesser known series, Manga/AnimalLand and Manga/VectorBall) and later independently with the kanzenban edition, and while other countries have republished the series using the kanzenban edition as a basis, but there's no word of it being republished in English.
** The bad blood between Raiku and Shogakukan also resulted in any mention of Shogakukan being scrubbed clean from the opening and end credits of both the Japanese streaming and Blu-ray releases of the anime.
* ThoseTwoActors:
** Zatch and Zeon's Japanese voice actors, Creator/IkueOtani and Creator/UraraTakano, are respectively Pikachu and Raichu.
** Creator/TakahiroSakurai (Kiyomaro) and Creator/UnshoIshizuka (Gustav) previously worked together in the 2001 version of Manga/Cyborg009 as Joe Shimamura/009 and Von Vogt respectively. The two would also later work together in Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable as Rohan Kishibe and the older Joesph Joestar.
** In English, there is also Tia and Megumi who's [=VAs=] play off of each other in VideoGame/Neptunia and Manga/Boruto. As well as Megumi and Suzy's [=VAs=] who play Sakura and Ino in Manga/Naruto.
