* ActingForTwo: A number of actors played multiple roles throughout the series.
* TheDanza:
** Both Guy (Guy A. Lepage) and Sylvie (Sylvie Léonard).
** This also applies to several supporting characters. Their friends Daniel and Loulou are played by Daniel Brière and Louise Richer; Guy's coworker Geneviève is played by Geneviève Brouillette; and Guy's friend Martin is played by Martin Petit.
** The French version has Creator/JeanDujardin as Jean ("Loulou").
* FakeAmerican: The show typically got the same Canadian actor to play American characters. Sadly, the only American accent he seemed to know was a southern drawl, which didn't work when the American in question came from Chicago, Illinois.
* RealLifeRelative:
** Sylvie's best friend Loulou was played by Guy A. Lepage's then-wife Louise Richer. In the "1968" skit, a fictional story about how Guy and Sylvie would have met each other as children, young Guy is played by Guy A. Lepage's real-life son while young Sylvie is played by Sylvie Léonard's real-life daughter.
** For the French version, Jean Dujardin and Alexandra Lamy were a real life couple for quite some time, including during the series' run.
