** The story originally had twenty contestants instead of twenty two. Nine of the contestants were scrapped and the other eleven became the favorites, facing eleven new characters. This turned the season into a Fans vs. Favorites season. Several ideas and things were changed and scrapped in this version as well such as:
** Vivienne was going to be transgender, similar to the character she was based on's portrayal in the Japanese version of ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor''.
** Puck was originally planned [[spoiler:to win the season.]]
** Christina (an {{Expy}} of Christina Grimmie from the original version) was intended to compete instead of [[DeadpanSnarker Estrella]], which would've become a much HarsherInHindsight only a couple years later.
