* AscendedFanon: Kefka's card uses his longtime FanNickname "the Psycho Clown" to describe him.
* {{Blooper}}:
** In ''Final Bar Line'' the game incorrectly states that The Emperor's Absolute Dominion ability inflicts Blind on a boss enemy when it appears when the ability actually inflicts Silence. The funny thing is The Emperor's character description correctly states that his abilities inflict Silence on enemies.
** Due to an oversight, ''Final Bar Line'' is unplayable on February 29th. This is due to the game searching for the current date upon starting it up, but can’t start because Leap Day isn't coded. Coincidentally, this happened to be the same day that ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIIRebirth '' released on.
* LimitedSpecialCollectorsUltimateEdition: ''Curtain Call'' has a version of this. It came with a special 3DS pouch, 2 [=CDs=] with best of and remixed songs, and physical [=CollectaCards=]. First-run copies of the game came with a smaller version that came with just the remix CD.
* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: Footage and music from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyType0'' is retained in the Western releases, despite that region not getting ''Type-0'' till the HD remake in March 2015. And of course, there's "Somnus" from what was then ''Versus XIII'' and is now ''Final Fantasy XV'' appearing in the original game, although it's conspicuously absent in the [=iOS=] port and ''Curtain Call''. Finally, a few tracks that were released as DLC are originally from games that [[NoExportForYou never left Japan]] at the time, such as "Megalomania" from ''VideoGame/LiveALive'' or "Sacrifice" from ''VideoGame/TrialsOfMana''.
* NoExportForYou:
%%** The 3DS' [=DLCs=] in areas without Nintendo eShop Access (which is a rather huge chunk of Asia, parts of Africa, quite a few East European countries, and parts of South America that isn't Brazil).
** Krile is the ''only'' DLC character not to be released outside of Japan, and Square has said they don't plan to release her. Why she remains exclusive to Japan is a mystery, but fans aren't happy about it. Apparently she's less important than having two Clouds and Auron with his arm ''in'' his sleeve.
** As expected of a Japanese-developed arcade game, ''All-Star Carnival'' is Japan-only...mostly. It is available in Round 1 centers in the United States, complete with [=NESiCA=] network connectivity and functionality, but the interface is still in Japanese.
** ''Theatrhythm Dragon Quest'' was not localized due to the franchise's relative unpopularity outside of its home country and predating the big push for ''Dragon Quest'' localizations that Square would lean into in the late 2010s.
* RemadeForTheExport: ''All-Star Carnival'', which features a control scheme and game mechanics different from the 3DS games, was only released in Japan, with a limited distribution in the United States through Round 1 locations. ''Final Bar Line'' effectively serves as a console port of ''ASC'', featuring its gameplay and charts, but available globally.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** ''Theatrhythm'' was originally planned for the Platform/{{DS}}, but was moved to the [[Platform/Nintendo3DS 3DS]] due to greater storage capacity.
** [[https://www.square-enix-games.com/en_US/news/origins-theatrhythm According to Masanobu Suzui]], the game was originally conceived under the title ''Final Fantasy Is Music''. Creator/TetsuyaNomura coined the name "Theatrhythm" instead, which took off due to its uniqueness.
