* ChannelHop: During their original British career, the Pretties recorded for Creator/{{Fontana|Records}}, Creator/{{EMI}} (specifically the [[Creator/EMIColumbiaRecords Columbia]] and Creator/{{Harvest|Records}} imprints), [[Creator/WarnerBrosRecords Warner Bros.]], Swan Song, and Warner Bros. again before their breakup. (In America, the "Talkin' About the Good Times" single was licensed to Laurie and the ''Music/SFSorrow'' and ''Parachute'' albums appeared on Rare Earth, a Creator/{{Motown}} subsidiary that specialized in PsychedelicRock.) After their reunion in TheNineties, their new work appeared on various indie labels; meanwhile, they regained control of their catalog and licensed it to Snapper Music, who in turn sublicensed it to various reissue specialists (including Creator/ShoutFactory).
* CreatorBacklash: The band hated ''Emotions,'' mainly because of [[ExecutiveMeddling the orchestration added by their record label]].
* LateExportForYou:
** Since the Pretty Things' first album was ignored in the US, the American branch of Creator/FontanaRecords passed on ''Get the Picture?'' and ''Emotions''. Neither album received an American release until the Pretties, who had regained control of their recordings, reissued their entire catalog in 1998.
** ''Music/SFSorrow'''s US release had a much shorter delay -- six months instead of several decades -- but it hurt the Pretty Things' career. By the time the world's first RockOpera was released Stateside, Music/TheWho's ''Music/{{Tommy}}'' was already out, leading Americans to assume that the Pretties had stolen the very concept they originated! At least people eventually realized the truth.
