* BoxOfficeBomb: Budget: $11 million. Box office (domestic only): $8,002,361.
* CreatorBacklash: Wrestling/TheUndertaker called this movie "awful" in a later interview, and said he mainly did it for a chance to work with the WWF.
* FatalMethodActing: Special effects technician Michael Colvin was killed in an on-set accident after falling through a trap door while testing it.
* LoopingLines: For when General Suitor is transformed into his mutant form, Vincent Hammond portrayed the character on set, then Creator/FrankWelker looped his dialogue in post-production.
* PropRecycling:
** The P.K.E. meter from ''Film/{{Ghostbusters|1984}}'' is reused as a homing device.
** Numerous prop guns from ''Film/MastersOfTheUniverse'' were reused, all but unchanged.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Apparently the movie was originally going to be titled ''Urban Commando'', and it would've starred Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger and Creator/DannyDeVito as Shep and Charlie, but they choose to do ''Film/Twins1988'' instead. Instead of the sci-fi elements, Shep would be a soldier who failed to stop some terrorists and is ordered to take a vacation by his superiors. He would be hosted by Charlie's family and struggle to adjust to normal life, but then have to save Charlie's family when the terrorists track him down.
** Wrestling/VinceMcMahon originally envisioned that, similar to ''Film/NoHoldsBarred'', a live event where Hogan wrestles Wrestling/TheUndertaker as his character from this film could happen. This idea was quickly scrapped after Undertaker debuted in the WWF.
