* DummiedOut: As with almost every Creator/HumongousEntertainment game, many bits of unused content can be accessed by messing with the INI files. These range from individual graphics and dialogue lines to entire level editors in the case of ''Operation Ozone'''s minigame and ''Hold the Mustard''.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: This was the case for a while, as only ''Dry Cereal'' ever got a re-release onto the Wii, along with the first VideoGame/FreddiFish and VideoGame/PajamaSam games, and it was just a direct copy running on an emulator with literally nothing changed. This has since been averted with the updated Steam re-release of the entire series in 2014.
* NoExportForYou:
** The ComicBookAdaptation ''[[http://www.davewindett.com/various/fox.html SPY Fox]]'' was published exclusively in the British magazine ''Planet PC'' and saw worldwide release only on the artist's website.
** Despite the Netherlands being the only other country where Humongous was popular, ''SPY Fox 3'' was never exported there. The reason why remains a mystery, seeing how ''Freddi Fish 5'' was exported yet was made after it.
* TheOtherDarrin: SPY Fox is voiced by Bob Zenk in ''Dry Cereal'' & ''Cheese Chase'' and by Mike Madeoy from ''Some Assembly Required'' onward.
** Monkey Penny is voiced by Gina Nagy in every game except in ''Operation Ozone'', where she is voiced by Anita Montgomery, [[ActingForTwo who also voices Poodles Galore in said game.]]
* TechnologyMarchesOn: Played straight and parodied throughout the series.
** Two retractable televisions in the Dream House of Wee World are [=CRTs=].
** [=LeRoach=] has a setup in the sewers below the World's Fair which he uses to try one last scheme, but the program he launches contains a bug, which then shows a pop-up that looks like a Windows 95 dialog box, parodying the OS's frequent crashes.
*** "This program will be shut down. Do you wish to throw a fit now?" Only one button is there, and it says "Yes".
** A computer the size of a wrist watch that can communicate with a video screen from far away? Nonsense! ...well, at least until smart watches came along. These days, the Spy Watch seems ''quaint'' by comparison: only communication to one place, and only one game can fit on it at a time. It couldn't even tell time until the third game![[note]][[Film/SpyKids2IslandOfLostDreams Where have we heard that before?]][[/note]]
* UrbanLegendOfZelda: Prior to the games’ Steam re-release (which allowed for these rumors to be more easily tested), there was a minor rumor that a third ending was possible in ''Some Assembly Required'' where you could flush Le Roach down the pipe leading to Fiji rather than the one leading to SPY Jail, but this is not possible in reality.
** Some DummiedOut sprites for the sewer that depict another lever and set of gears indicate that this alternate ending may have been planned but scrapped early on, however.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The teaser for the game in ''VideoGame/FreddiFish 2'' indicates that SPY Fox was originally going to have dark brown fur and his car would have been black instead of white.
* WordOfGod: When asked by a fan, animator Brad Carlton confirmed on the Humongous Entertainment Alumi Facebook page that the main character's real name ''[[HisNameReallyIsBarkeep is]]'' [[HisNameReallyIsBarkeep Spy Fox]] ("Spy" being his first name) and that it's just [[RuleOfFunny part of the overall joke of the game]].
* WorkingTitle: ''SPY Fox: Operation Ozone'' was originally going to be just called ''SPY Fox 3''.
