* ActingForTwo:
** Patricia and Octocat are both voiced by Creator/KatieCrown.
** Two-Legs Joe and Compuhorse are both voiced by Creator/PatrickMcKenna.
* AdoredByTheNetwork: Creator/{{Teletoon}} aired at LEAST three episodes a day on the weekdays (four episodes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays), all at available times, which is really quite odd for a show with [[ShortRunners only 26 half-hours]].
* ChannelHop: Although originally made for Teletoon, reruns of the show moved to Creator/{{YTV}} later on.
* ColbertBump: Received one in 2018, thanks to an overview of the series by Youtube animation reviewer Cosmodore.
* CompletelyDifferentTitle:
** In Latin America, the show is known as ''Isla de Mutantes'' ("Isle of Mutants").
** The French dub of the show renames it ''Les Zybrides''.
* CrossdressingVoices: Kedar Brown as Princess Pony Apehands and Creator/JulieLemieux as Fuzzy Snuggums.
* DescendedCreator: Mike Kiss, one of the series writers, provides the voice of Mister Smarty Smarts.
* HeAlsoDid: The creators of ''Spliced'', Simon Racioppa and Richard Elliott, not only developed ''WesternAnimation/{{Grossology}}'' (and later ''WesternAnimation/{{Fangbone}}'') but have written for lots of animation, including the animated ''WesternAnimation/DonkeyKongCountry'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003''. Simon Racioppa is also the showrunner for ''WesternAnimation/Invincible2021''.
* InspirationForTheWork: ''Literature/TheIslandOfDoctorMoreau'' was the show's primary inspiration (evidenced in its WorkingTitle ''The Leftovers of Dr. Moreau''), although Simon and Richard also cited ''Ren & Stimpy'' as a major influence.
* InvisibleAdvertising: Most people are not aware of the fact that the show was picked up by Creator/CartoonNetwork for its online app for this reason.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes:
** There is one DVD release of the show, which is part of the Creator/{{Nelvana}} Golden Collection, but it is extremely rare and only has a few episodes. The series used to be available on iTunes, but not anymore. Every episode can be found on Website/YouTube (Click [[https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiYxum0lmXbtrv1lkvHZN-c4x9bIIgYwc here for all of the episodes)]] and it is currently for free on Tubi.
** [[https://spliced.fandom.com/wiki/Bonus_Clips A number of bonus clips]] were originally created for the show and featured on Creator/{{Teletoon}}'s official website (much like ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes''[='=] ''Miseryville Moments'' and ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaIsland''[='=]s contestant audition tapes), but are now completely lost. However, when co-creator Simon Racioppa was asked about the lost bonus clips, he said that he might have them in his hard drive. One of them was featured in a Teletoon podcast, which has been [[https://archive.org/details/teletoon-podcast-july-13-2011 reuploaded]] to the Website/InternetArchive.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork:
** On Qubo, the show only aired for six weeks before being thrown off the channel for a year. Eventually, the screwing was somewhat undone, with the show being put on Qubo's more appropriate "Night Owl" block along with ''WesternAnimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse1983''.
** ''Spliced'''s time on Creator/CartoonNetwork was even worse. All of its episodes were only released on the Cartoon Network app in 2014, with no advertising given (and some minor censorship too, as the start of the theme song was cut out for using the word "crap") and every episode being pulled off almost immediately afterwards, meaning the show wasn't even given the chance to gain any sort of audience. Incidentally, ''WesternAnimation/{{Detentionaire}}'', another Creator/{{Nelvana}} cartoon, was suffering the same luck around this time.
* ShortRunInPeru: Despite the series being Canadian in origin, Creator/{{Teletoon}} didn’t air the show until 2010, a year after it had already debuted episodes in several other countries, including the United States.
** Premiered first in Latin America on [[Creator/DisneyXD Jetix]] in 2009.
** Australia was the first English speaking country to air all episodes.
* ShrugOfGod: When asked on Twitter about what a proper GrandFinale to ''Spliced'' would have looked like, co-creator Simon Racioppa admitted he had no idea because of how crazy the series already was.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Co-creator Simon Racioppa has said that there were plans for a Season 2 due to the show's popularity at the time, but they were axed because "it wasn't in the cards at that time...events conspired against the show".
** [[https://spliced.fandom.com/wiki/File:Peri_07.jpg Early]] [[https://spliced.fandom.com/wiki/File:02_spliced01.jpg designs]] for Peri reveal that he originally had horns. [[https://lilch.ca/spliced Other designs]] also reveal considerations for giving the character a tail.
** [[https://lilch.ca/spliced Early designs for Entree]] show the character originally had legs (flip-flopping between bird legs and hooves in various pieces) before they finally settled on instead having him walk on his udder.
* WrittenByCastMember: Mike Kiss, the voice of Mister Smarty Smarts, also has written several episodes.
* WordOfGod: Simon Racioppa revealed on his Twitter in 2019 (nearly a decade after the series ended) that [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter Fuzzy Snuggums]] (whose genetic makeup was never stated in the series) is part fawn, part baby seal, and part kitten.
* WorkingTitle: ''The Leftovers of Dr. Moreau''.
