* CompletelyDifferentTitle: After the movie was released in French-speaking Canadian regions as ''Woody and the Robots'', Creator/WoodyAllen inserted a clause in all of his subsequent contracts that his movies' titles could not be changed by other parties.
* DeletedScene: According to editor Ralph Rosenblum, Creator/WoodyAllen filmed and then deleted a fantasy sequence in which Miles plays a game of chess with life-sized chess pieces, and is then sentenced to death by the chess pieces after he loses the game. Another cut scene had Miles doing magic tricks to impress Luna.
* HeAlsoDid: Creator/JoelSchumacher is the costume designer on this movie, he would go on to direct the awful ''Film/BatmanAndRobin'' and the much better film ''Film/PhoneBooth.''
* ScienceMarchesOn: Parodied. Miles wakes up in 200 years to discover, among other things, that wheat germ is bad for you and deep fat, steak, cream pies, and hot fudge were health food and cigarettes were the healthiest thing on the planet.
* UncreditedRole: Comedic character actor George Furth makes and uncredited appearance as one of the guests at Luna's party. Furth, who was Jewish is wearing an inverted Nazi Swastika on his chest, which he contrasts by wearing a Tallit, a traditional Jewish prayer shawl complete with fringes, over it.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The film was orginally a three-hour epic with the first half set in the present. Creator/WoodyAllen eventually decided only the second half was worthwhile.
** [[Creator/IsaacAsimov Dr Asimov]] refused the position of "technical director" and recommended Creator/BenBova instead.
