-->'''Richard:''' I asked myself "Do you see any niggers?", and I said [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming "No, because there aren't any..."]]
* RomanceOnTheSet: He and Margot Kidder (aka, ComicBook/LoisLane from ''[[Film/{{Superman}} Superman: The Movie]]'' and its three sequels) had an affair while working on ''Some Kind of Hero'' together.
* SonOfAWhore: His mother was a prostitute and even grew up in her brothel.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Pryor was orginally slated to play Bart in ''Film/BlazingSaddles''. He ended up as a writer on the film, mostly the Mongo bits.
** Brooks also wanted him to play "Josephus" in ''Film/HistoryOfTheWorldPartI'' but Pryor was injured from the freebasing incident before production. He was replaced by Gregory Hines.
** That freebasing incident also prevented him from appearing on ''Series/TheMuppetShow'', forcing the staff writer, Chris Langham, to appear guest star instead.
** ''Film/TradingPlaces'' was originally written as another vehicle with himself and Creator/GeneWilder, but when Pryor dropped out and Creator/EddieMurphy signed on, Murphy asked that Gene Wilder be replaced, because he didn't want people thinking he was trying to be [[PoorMansSubstitute another Pryor]].
