* ActingForTwo:
** Carolyn Scott voices Ned's mother and his schoolteacher Miss Bunn.
** Colin O'Meara voices Doogle, one of Ned's classmates, and Ned's cousin Renfrew.
* ColbertBump: The reason many American 90s kids probably heard of this series (if they didn't watch its short-lived Fox Kids run) was through a preview of the series' VHS tapes that was on various tapes for Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} shows (Creator/{{Paramount|Pictures}} distributed the show on VHS).
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer:
** For some reason, there is an impression floating around the Internet that Creator/CartoonNetwork created or aired this show. This may come from the fact that this cartoon aired on CN's Latin American, UK and Scandinavian feeds.
** It's also been mistaken for a Nickelodeon show, due to the preview for the show's VHS releases being on various Nickelodeon VHS tapes.
* CrossDressingVoices: Creator/TraceyMoore as Ned. Oddly, most of the other boys are played by (adult) male actors.
* TheOtherDarrin: Towards the very end of the show's run, Harland Williams simply stopped showing up at the voice recording sessions, without explanation. Accordingly, Williams was replaced by impressionist extraordinaire Creator/RonPardo as Newton for the last four episodes.
* TechnologyMarchesOn: In "Et Tu, Newte?", Ned mentions that, while sleeping over at the Plucks' place, he and Doogle rented "Frankenstein Goes Head-Curling Part 2: The Final Bonspiel" on DVD, then Doogle spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how to rewind it. This was due to the fact that the Platform/{{DVD}} format was new at the time, and most people still owned [[Platform/{{VCR}} VHS tapes]].
