* DisownedAdaptation: According to producer Shinichiro Shirakura, he joked that he made ''Series/KamenRiderBlackSun'' [[https://variety.com/2021/film/global/toei-kamen-rider-1235009716/ as a "payback" for the terrible quality of the American adaptation]].
** Creator/ShotaroIshinomori was reportedly so incensed by the show that he forbade any further adaptations; which persisted after his death until 2009 with the release of ''Series/KamenRiderDragonKnight''.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The three-part ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' episodes wasn't seen in America for over a decade until it appeared on Netflix, and as for the series itself there are very few episodes released on VHS and DVD. Still, there is Website/YouTube. This and ''Series/TheMysticKnightsOfTirNaNog'' are also the only live-action Saban shows currently unavailable on Netflix, as well as the only ones not to be released on DVD by Shout! Factory.
** Thankfully (on unfortunately, depending on what you think of the show), there is now a Website/YouTube channel uploading episodes of the show in fairly decent quality.
* StuntDouble:
** The show uses Kotaro Minami as this, with Dex dressing up in the same white outfit to blend in with the StockFootage in some civilian fights. Most probably for budget reasons, since Saban was unable to obtain most of the monster costumes from [[Series/KamenRiderBlackRX Black RX]]. This explains why "Dex" is never seen in the same shot as the monster whenever he wears a different outfit other than Kotaro Minami's. At times, Kotaro's face could be seen during such fights. Keep in mind, ''Masked Rider'' is ''not'' the first show that uses this method of editing. ''Series/VRTroopers'', and numerous ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' series have used footage of the Japanese actors as doubles for their respective American counterparts. However, the aforementioned budget forced production to use this method very often in ''Masked Rider''.
** The show also uses ''Film/KamenRiderZO'' and ''Film/KamenRiderJ'' as this for suited fights as well. The close-up shots feature Dex in the RX suit, but the faraway action shots depicts him wearing a completely different outfit.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djnZUgzZEs0 The original pilot]], which had Edenoi exploding (and more directly following up the end of the ''MMPR'' BackdoorPilot episodes), no Ferbus, a different Albee and Molly, different voices for Chopper & Magno, and no original villain footage.
** A planned appearance from the Power Rangers got cancelled and replaced with stock footage of the Legendary Riders.
** [[https://youtu.be/H8U8Rbxdfuw?t=92 From the early promo]] of the show as seen on Bandai's 1995 Toy Fair booth, ZO was originally set to appear in full, presumably as one of Dex' forms. ZO's bike, the Z-Bringer is also shown in its entirety. Confusingly, the toys for both were absent.
** Masked Rider Super Gold was originally called "Super Masked Rider", and it was being marketed as Dex' main form besides his default appearance, with Masked Rider Super Blue nowhere to be seen.
** The logo originally featured Kamen Rider J (most likely because Saban couldn't tell ZO and J apart).
