* ActingForTwo:
** In the Japanese version of The Silver Star, Alex and Luna are voiced by Creator/KikukoInoue.
** As for Silver Star Story:
*** In the Japanese version, Quark, Myght and Mel D'Alkirk are voiced by Creator/YusakuYara; Phacia and Fresca are played by Creator/SakuraTange; and Lemia Ausa and Xenobia are both voiced by Teiya Ichiryƫsai.Who was credited under her former stage name Aya Hara.
*** In the English version, Jackie Powers voices Nall and Mia Ausa; Blake Dorsey voices Laike Boggard and Dyne; Jessica D'Alkirk and Fresca are voiced by Melissa Gulden; and Jennifer Stigile plays Royce and Luna's singing voice.
* BreakthroughHit: Lunar: The Silver Star was Creator/WorkingDesigns' first big success as a publisher.
* ChildrenVoicingChildren: Alex's English voice actor Ashley Parker Angel (better known for his later career as a founding member of the boy band O-Town) was only 12 years old by the time The Silver Star was released.
* EnforcedMethodActing: voice actor in Silver Star Story, , was forced by the Working Designs team to deliver the character's FinalSpeech while drinking over a gallon of milk, in order to make his voice and coughing suitably wet and phlegmy. He apparently (and understandably) felt quite sick afterwards.
* FollowTheLeader: The prevalence of flutes and ocarinas in Zelda series may have had some influence on the decision to change Alex's instrument of choice from a harp (in The Silver Star) to an ocarina (in the remakes). Although the Japanese version of Silver Star Story actually predates the most famous ocarina in the Zelda series. Which makes it kind of ironic that Link acquired a magical harp in Oracle of Ages.
* KillerApp: Silver Star remained one of the best selling games for the Sega CD add-on, both in Japan and the US.
* MultiDiscWork: The Platform/PlayStation port was released on two discs due to its high volume of [=FMVs=] (the original Platform/SegaCD version and the Platform/SegaSaturn port, by comparison, only took up one disc each). The second disc marks the last act of the game and you switch to it when heading to the frontier. The [=PlayStation=] version also includes a soundtrack CD and a bonus disc with behind-the-scenes features.
* NoExportForYou: The PC port of Silver Star Story, which does have higher resolution than the [=PlayStation=] and Sega Saturn versions and better video playback for the [=FMV=] cutscenes, but the port was only released in Japan and South Korea. An English version of the port was planned, but it was too buggy and unstable to be made.
* NonSingingVoice: Jennifer Stigile provided Luna's singing voice for Silver Star Story and Silver Star Harmony.
* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Victor Ireland's ownership of the English voice acting in The Silver Star prevented the game and its sequel from being released on the English version of the Genesis/Mega Drive Mini 2. Notable that even on the Japanese Mini, while the English versions of every other game are playable (as long as an official English version exists, that is), the Lunar games are only playable in Japanese.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Only five characters (AlexCreator/KikukoInoue, Lunaalso Kikuko Inoue, NallCreator/ReiSakuma, QuarkKoichi Kitamura, and GhaleonCreator/RokuroNaya) speak in The Silver Star. When Silver Star Story was made, those five all got different voice actors in the Japanese versionCreator/AkiraIshida voiced Alex, Creator/KyokoHikami voiced Luna, Junko Hagimori voiced Nall, Yusaku Yara voiced Quark, and Kiyoyuki Yanada voiced Ghaleon.
** Meanwhile, the five English actors who did The Silver Star (Ashley Parker Angel, Rhonda Gibson, Jackie Powers, Hal Delahousse, and John Truitt) returned for Silver Star Story along with a slew of new actors for the other characters. The English roster changed completely when Silver Star Harmony was released.
* TheSongRemainsTheSame: In the English version of The Silver Star, Luna's "Lala Song" was left in undubbed.
